U.S. eyes Yemen al-Qaida tie to attack

— U.S. agencies are looking into whether al-Qaida extremists in Yemen directed Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and provided him with the explosives used in the failed bombing of Northwest Flight 253, senior administration officials told NBC News on Saturday.

They are also examining a possible link to an attempted assassination of a Saudi government official last August that used the same explosive, PETN, or pentaerythritol tetranitrate. In both incidents, the explosive device was in or attached to the suspect's underwear.

The New York Times quoted unidentified officials as saying Abdulmutallab had obtained the explosive materials from a bomb expert in Yemen associated with al-Qaida.

Abdulmutallab had visited Yemen in the past few months, say officials. Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula is a Yemen-based offshoot of al-Qaida.

Abdulmutallab’s increasingly radical leanings and anti-western rhetoric caused his family to alert the U.S. Embassy in the Nigerian capital of Abuja of their concerns.

He was added to a terrorism watch list in November, say officials, but not to the no-fly list. The larger watch list — the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment, or TIDE — contains more than 500,000 names, while the no-fly list has some 4,000 names.

Military action
Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula has been increasingly active in the past year. It is headquartered in Hadramout, the vast desert region shared with Saudi Arabia, but operates in other parts of the peninsula as well. U.S. and Yemeni forces have stepped up military activities in the region in recent weeks.

A Yemeni official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press, said Saturday that the U.S. has yet to contact his government officially. “We have yet to receive official information on the incident. If and when the would-be bomber’s alleged link to Yemen is officially identified, authorities will take immediate action.”

Of particular interest to U.S. officials, beyond Abdulmutallab’s travels to Yemen, is a thwarted attack on the head of Saudi Arabia’s counterterrorism effort and an October article on the use of small amounts of explosives, authored by the Yemen al-Qaida group’s leader.

In the former incident, a suicide bomber hid PETN in his underwear, detonating it when greeting Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, head of Saudi counterterrorism, last Aug. 28.

The man, who had claimed he was turning himself in, died in the attack. Bin Nayef, a U.S. ally, suffered burns to his hands. Cultural taboos prevented a search in that part of the terrorist's body. Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula claimed responsibility for the attack.

Officials told WNBC that the explosives in the Christmas Day attack also were attached to Abdulmutallab's underwear.

‘War is a Trick’
That was followed by an article published two months later in Sada al-Malahim, the group's online magazine. In the article, "War is a Trick," the group's leader, Abu Basir al-Wuhayshi, advised would-be al-Qaida members to use small amounts of explosives to kill "apostates" and Western nationals, including on passenger aircraft and in airports.

According to a translation proved by NBC counterterrorism analyst Evan Kohlmann, al-Wuhayshi wrote: "You do not need to sacrifice huge efforts, or large amounts of money, to make 10 grams of explosives, or more or less … make it [the material] in the shape of a grenade to throw, or [an explosive] to time, or ignite it from a distance, or a martyrdom belt … and bomb with it any tyrant, or intelligence forces den, or a prince, or a minister, or a crusader wherever you find them, and also in airports in the western crusade countries that participated in the war against Muslims; or on their planes, or in their residential complexes or their subways."

Al-Wuhayshi pointed to the attempted assassination of bin Nayef as an example of how to carry out such attacks.

U.S. and Yemeni forces have carried out two joint attacks on al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula within the past week, killing more than 60 suspects and larger numbers of civilians. Among those targeted in the second attack, only three days ago, was al-Wuhayshi.

Terrorism is psychological warfare. The best defense is to take it to the enemy. Make him wonder when it will be his turn to die. They are devout, so it takes a lot of strain to deter him.

These tactics are silly and are the main reason Al Qaeda is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Where as the Taliban of Afghanistan is growing in strength by fighting a guerrilla war these idiots in Al Qaeda think attacking civilians is the thing to do. It is such attacks in Iraq that got the Iraqis to turn on them. Similar attacks in Pakistan have the Pakistanis turning on them. If they persist they will soon be powerless.

Just talked to a returning US Military Major, home from combat in Afghanistan. He said the Al Qaida are not a great influence anymore. The Taliban are in the forefront of many attacks.

So many of these, am assuming, are Terrorists who still have contact with Al Qaida, but they do not have the numbers and coordination of before.

We are going to be looking at "sole" Terrorists who join the Jihad camps and can, they themselves as one person, cause chaos and terror on American and European soil, airline flights, and other soft targets.

How do we detect these loners that belong to Al Qaida?. It will never end.

No matter how careful Homeland Security, the TSA or other Intelligence Agencies are, these guys or women are going to slip through the cracks.

It's not over yet.

Thank God the nutsack terrorist failed at his evil mission. While I'm glad the TSA is awake now, feeling up Granny isn't going to make us safer. Putting a clown like this who was on a terrorist watch list on the do not fly list would have prevented this near Christmas massacre. Of course this douche bag's flying days should be over other than maybe a hop to Leavenworth after he's convicted.

Stop-The-Statists

The signs were there all along with this dirtbag and Major Hasan and Janet Napolitano and company are worried and focused on returning veterans (our national heroes) and people with Anti-Obama bumper stickers on their cars. How pathetic.

They took their eye off the ball. The whole bunch in power needs to be ejected from DC as soon as reasonably possible. They are nothing more than political hacks with no significant experience in their respective positions.

They do not have our best interests in mind on any issue !!!!!!!

This is what happens when you allow politics to enter law enforcement at the local, county, state, or federal level. It renders it ineffective.

Now cue Obama to come out of his vacation hideaway to urge us to "not jump to any conclusions" about this TERRORIST, like he did the fine Maj. Hasan in Ft. Hood who is nothing but a no good, pathetic TERRORIST also!!

I'd loved to have been on that flight just to kick his ass some to. It is likely the harshest justice he'll receive under the current "sympathetic" administration (including the Justice Dept.).

Well, for those keeping count, this is TERRORIST ATTACK #2 on Obama's watch. Even after the world-wide, 'America Sucks Tour' by the Appologizer-In-Chief.

Who could have predicted that radical extremeists still want to kill Americans.

A Sign of the Times:

We have no President. Just a figurehead, who likes to vacation, while others die in Wars, he's not interested in. More Terrorist action showing up in the US today on this flight, Ft. Hood. He is Our Commander in Brief.

He lives like a king, gives eloquent speeches, but cannot perform his job, and will not take the responsibility of his Presidential duties.

Is the dog BO in charge, while he has been vacationing for almost 1 year now? Who uses the "private quarters of the White House"; who lives there?

This is a new Era of a different kind of President for the United States. We are open to Attack, if this should continue. The Terrorists know there is no one "watching out for you".

Mass Graves

Yuck. The military official who went nuts in Texas reminds me of a postal worker attacking his co-workers and customers, however because this occurred on a military base its linked to the military and war, in fact the individual went nuts, you can't blame that on the post office or Islam. Besides postal workers attacking the office aren't common scenario's as of late, nor were they considered terror attacks.

The plane bomb link to Al-Qaida in Pakistan and Afghanistan is so extreme in distance, one can't help but wonder. Aren't terror attacks included with pre-warnings or threats prior?

Blaming liberals is a blanket excuse, so phuck off.

Even if it is caused by an individual who has some sort idealology attached to it, the fact that public can trace it to a mass group of people in the U.S. is also scary. I don't remember the news blaming Timothy McVeigh who was white and Christian as a threat to people because he was white and Christian- he was also a government worker and had no ties to Al-Qaida.

Americans can be quite ignorant, and that's a threat or statement, generalization?

Hawaii2 - Just talked to a returning US Military Major, home from combat in Afghanistan. He said the Al Qaida are not a great influence anymore. The Taliban are in the forefront of many attacks.

You really need to talk to someone with JSOC, Joint Special Operations Command. Of course they would: 1. Never talk to you. 2. Never admit they belong to JSOC (if they do, they are "outted" (and fired, especially when their face is posted on the Internet)). 3. Never admit they are used and abused as Agency Assets. 4. They would give you a comment that they are tired (especially of Political BS, all Parties). 5. That "Conventional" Warfare is a thing of the past (Cold War Era, US versus USSR) and Asymmetric Warfare is the "Now" (with US Conventional Warfare Forces (USA, USAF, USMC, USN) hating Asymmetric Warfare Forces (USA SF, USAF SO, USMC SO, USN SEALs) especially "those at the top" (who have no clue (training) on how to use us (effectively) properly and more concerned with big budget Cold War Era equipment (Aircraft Carriers, Aircraft, Submarines, Tanks, etc.) to pad their influence with the Politicians (Congress, jobs in their States). 6. Are usually divorced, and if Reservists have lowpay crappy jobs so when they are "recalled" again their lowpay crappy job is still there when they return years later (as many of the "Good Jobs" will not hire you when they find out that you are a detriment to them as a Reservist). 7. Don't care about medals, as awards decorations, medals (aka "Fruit Salad") becomes part of a "public knowledge" identifier that "outs" them (Unclassified Official Military Record)(it is not very hard for some clerk to figure out and sell the names for big bucks (happened before)).

So many of these, am assuming, are Terrorists who still have contact with Al Qaida, but they do not have the numbers and coordination of before.

Guess you never heard about the International Al Quada Franchise. The reason why they lack coordination on a momentary business is because we keep killing their number 3s, International Operations Officers for the Al Quada International Franchise. Of significance missing from your "Major's" comments are the two largest forces that are not the Al Quada, and Taliban here at Afghanistan.

cw smallwood - Fred G; This guy was a moron.

No, luckily the guy that he got the explosives from was a moron, or we would be reading about an "unknown" cause for an aircraft crash being investigated by the FAA.

After dealing with counter terrorist activities against Bader Meinhof, Red Army Faction, Irish Republican Army, Black September, Red Brigade, Vietnam, South and Central Americas, Action Directe, Somalia, Darfur, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. and previously providing General Officer and VIP Security, you tend to anticipate their next moves.

My personal comment is that it is time for you youngsters to take over from this old beaten up, shiity attitude ancient dinosaur. Better start now as it takes decades to develop your "talents".

An example of a Major, when I returned from being a Commander of a US Military Training Team from Germany to xxxxxxxxxxxx, 1980s, the Major was jealous that I had seen (the insanity of) Combat. I was never like that when I was a Major, I was too busy leading from the front (not hiding in a bunker), resulting in numerous letters of reprimand from my Conventional Warfare Chain of Command (no clue about Special Warfare).

SO, AL-QAEDA IS NOT SIMPLY SITTING IN SOME CAVE IN AFGHANISTAN OR PAKISTAN??????

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To think these useless "wars" in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are going to somehow make the world nicey-nice again is hilarious. To think that these massive organizations of terror aren't going to flee these war zones and set up shop in other unstable countries is insulting. To think that these terrorists are just a bunch of retaded Islamic rejects that have nothing better to do is condescending. These terrorist organizations are not just sitting in caves hiding during the day and stalking the world at night as is perceived. These groups are highly organized and well funded by extremists around the world hell bent on furthering their Islamic-Jihad.

OUR PERCEPTION OF THESE TERRORISTS MUST CHANGE RADICALLY TO KEEP UP WITH THEM!!!!

These terrorists are no longer confined to the video-clips we are used to seeing of the gangs in their traditional terrorist uniforms, ski masks, toting an AK-47 and chanting the Koran as they train on a Jungle Jim. The current day terrorist looks not much different than the rest of the world. The traitor Hasan at Fort Hood didn't wear his robe and head dress as he did earlier in the day. The Delta Airline bomber was almost as average as it gets.

THE WAR ON TERRORISM NEEDS TO EVOLVE AS DOES THE TERRORIST HIMSELF OR WE ARE DOOMED TO FAILURE!!!!!

Actually, Yemen is a bee hive of CIA. This guy was an MKULTRA victim who is under mind control. Whenever you have so many weird inconsistencies in his life(Being termed a "good guy") the odds of mind control are very high. This also lets the Rockefeller crime family gin up the fear factor -you are supposed to be feeling very afraid - if not they will try again - so Congress can pass some more rights stealing legislation. Perpetual fear is a big thing here, a primary purpose.

cw smallwood "Mission Accomplished" was never stated in the former President's Speech, the end of the first phase was (Military Actions). And in the speech he mentioned the next phases, Nation Building.

As far as the "Mission Accomplished" that type of sign was displayed on many US Navy Ships and Boats (Submarines) after returning from their individual missions, until the SECNAV (Secretary of Navy) as directed by SECDEF (Secretary of Defense) said no more.

warprofiteer Is more correct than you would like to admit. But not for reasons that all of you think of.

      We're spread so thin, now.

This occurred when the US Military was raped during the President Clinton cut to the bone Reduction In Forces of the US Military. The US Military lost many of it's capabilities that take decades to regenerate. Logistics, Supply, Transportation, Special Warfare, Water Purification, Food Service, VIP Protection, etc.. With these "in house" cheap US Military niches filled by the more expensive US Contractors. No niches no US Contractors like Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater (Xe), Triple Canopy, etc.. Thank you President Clinton (I have a real dislike for "mercenaries", eventhough many are former peers that were RIFed by you). So as part of Cause + Effects = Results, now we are pulling people off the streets (right out of "Boot" or Basic Training) and sending them to Special Warfare Training (no experience, no maturity), with the Result being like USA Ranger Patrick Tillman. With no experience, no maturity getting themselves and us killed while "baby sitting" (just a fact of life and death). As previously, when we had time, training would be from low intensity and after gaining (proving themselves) experience and maturity moved to increased intensity operations (missions)(usually not knowing if it was a real or training mission (assessment/evaluation)). That is how "We're spread so thin, now." This does not include "normal" attritions, like dead, wounded, resignations, end of commitments, retirements, disqualifications, "peer outs", QMPs, RIFs, etc..

It is not my intention to disclose "Classified Information".

I would suggest that Ross Perot is far from being a nut! He sounded different. He spoke a different language altogether from the standard politicians of the day. He is and was a business man. In that regard, he was probably pretty good at analyzing budgets and allocating funds appropriately.

Maybe it's just me, but it appears he has done quite well in that regard, at least in the private sector.

Obama, Rahm (Never let a good crisis go to waste)Emanuel , and Obama's Czar from the 'Department of Diversion' are probably, deep down inside, loving this terrorist event and subsequent media coverage.

This is perfect cover for the Socialist push to take control of health-care by the government.

Obama can almost taste this victory in his never-ending push for his Socialist Utopia.

Gov't control or wealth-re-distribution drives every effort underway in DC presently. It is truly disgusting to witness the compromise of our great country and see it further jeopardized by irresponsible spending and bills like health-care, cap and trade, amnesty, etc.

This Socialist push and liberal mindset has the government pre-occupied and ill-preparred to deal with terrorists, Iran, North Korea, etc.

Obama and Obama alone will be the one solely responsible for allowing Iran to get a nuke.

Statement is right on target. Laziness, looking the other way, not calling a spade a spade (Terrorists are now Extremists), no more War on Terror. No War Tribunal for the Gitmo Detainees.

What is this? The land of the free in literal terms, for Terrorists to come here and destroy Westernized life. I'm sure Obama would welcome them into any hotel here in the US, especially New York. Ghadafi set up his tent here with welcome arms, and the Mad guy from Iran enjoyed himself, speaking against the US at the Conference.

Does Obama have any kind of backbone?. He's the President who is supposed to protect his people. Mary Had a Little Lamb could do a better job. She had the cane, which could have been Winston Churchill's big Stick. Obama walks softly, and doesn't carry a big stick. He just throws parties.

Americans have a huge problem of feeling safe in our own country. No body in the top ranks, from the White House seems to care. Where's Nancy Pelosi?---Biden?

I think the reality is that this is here to stay...forever. Americans continue to look at al-Qaida as some sort of cold war type enemy. With secret bases hidden in mountains and sinister roundtable meetings where evil doers plot and end every phrase with a diobolical sounding....muwhhahahahaha.

Al-Qaida as an "organization" isn't nearly as dangerous as al-Qaida the inspiration. Anyone who can read can formulate and carry out their own personal plot.

cw smallwood - Will=240263; We are fighting a religious idealogy. They will never run short of people to carry out their missions.

That mentality will insure our defeat. READ THE HOLY KORAN (QURAN). It is NOT a "Religious Idealogy". There is NO Separation of Church and State. And the Holy Koran is a "Way of Life", Law, Politics, Culture, Religion, etc. that superceeds all other Nations "Ways of Life", Law, Politics, Culture, Religions, etc.. Especially, the idea that there are moderate, liberal, etc. "Believers of Islam". Either you are a "Believer" or not (an "Unbeliever" subject to the Holy Koran).

This is why in another newsvine post, I stated that I would like the President of the United States of America to denounce the Holy Koran, especially the passages calling all Islam to War: Suras 2.190, 2.191, 2.192, 2.193, 2.194, 2.195, 2.216, 2.217, 4.74, 4.75, 4.76, 8.12, 8.13, 8.14, 8.15, 8.16, 8.17, 8.65, 8.66, 8.67, 8.68, 8.69, 9.5, 9.6, 9.13, 9.14, 9.15, 9.29, 9.30, 9.31, 9.32, 9.33, 9.123, 17.33, 22.38, 22.39, 33.60, 33.61, 33.62, 47.4, 47.5, 47.6, 47.7, 47.8, 47.9, 47.10, 47.11, 47.12, 47.13, 48.16 which would also mean denouncing the Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic Sharia Law that enforce these Holy Koran (Quran) Suras; including "deception" (lying to "Jaffar" ("Unbelievers", anyone that is not a "Believer of Islam") this includes swearing or affirming an Oath of Office (like Major Hassan, Fort Hood massacre (murders) in accordance with Suras 8.15, 8.16 and 8.17 of the Holy Koran)). With the Holy Koran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic Law superseding all other Nations Laws.

"The judgment against those who harm Allah and His Prophet is more severe – the death penalty." - Islamic Legal Scholar Qadi 'Iyad ibn Musa al-Yahsubi (equal to US Supreme Court).

The intent of this was two fold. One, to prove to the US that the current US President has severed his ties to being indoctrinated as a "Believer" of Islam (Indonesia as a teenager, considered of "age" in Islam). Two, to defeat the "Will of Islam" to continue War against the "Unbelievers" (Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and anyone that is not a "Believer of Islam"). There is a Three (that will require us to wait for all the "Believers of Islam" to come out of the wood work to try to assassinate the US President as a "believer that became a "heretic unbeliever", the death penalty (once in Islam as a believer never out) under the Holy Koran Laws, Hadith Law, Fiqh Law, and Sharia Law - Islamic Legal Scholar (equal to US Supreme Court) Qadi 'Iyad ibn Musa al-Yahsubi).

              Are you getting the picture.

There is no "Al Quaida in Yemen, Al Quaida in Iraq, Al Quaida anywhere except Afghanistan. That's what Obama preached all through the campaign, so, by golly, that's where they are.

You people need to learn how to help yourselves and to stop looking to government for solutions. You need to become collectively concerned, educated, and involved with how you government operates at all levels. (Local, state, and federal).

They should have spoken up and protested this stupid act. That being said, the media is driving this, do you remember the "shoe bomber" and how stupid his picture was? So I'm not really sure is it the Islamic fundamentalist or the media that is causing all this fervor.

Five defining characteristics of stupidity, it seems to me, are readily apparent. First, is sheer ignorance: Ignorance of critical facts about important events in the news, and ignorance of how our government functions and who's in charge. Second, is negligence: The disinclination to seek reliable sources of information about important news events. Third, is wooden-headedness, as the historian Barbara Tuchman defined it: The inclination to believe what we want to believe regardless of the facts. Fourth, is shortsightedness: The support of public policies that are mutually contradictory, or contrary to the country's long-term interests. Fifth, and finally, is a broad category I call bone-headedness, for want of a better name: The susceptibility to meaningless phrases, stereotypes, irrational biases, and simplistic diagnoses and solutions that play on our hopes and fears.

But come on official picture that the media put out on the "shoe bomber" was that of a very disturbed and retarded looking person. I mean it was almost out of "Borat". It is really getting to the point where we have to exterminate the pests. They are ruining our way of life. The airlines are using them as an excuse to provide substandard service. The last time I went through an airport I took extra time to make sure all of my metal objects were in my carry-on bag so they could be examined. My reward was the fact that I got frisked free of charge for my trouble. I am so freaking sick of what these morons have done to us.

...and now the people in our country are too dumbed down to know how to find their way out of the maze we like to call globalism. The results of policies our government has created is the very reason we are now being targeted. Whether it is by an individual "nut job" or by organized terror groups. We vote these evil people into office, then thay create recipes for disaster behind our backs and we think we haven't done anything "wrong". My question is, how does our government and it people define right and wrong? Good policy/bad policy? Our ignorance is at an all time high.

trco, who is the "we" that will "win" pursuant to your reading of the Book of Revelation?

If you are trying to infer that Christianity, as a whole, will be the victor, then you have read INTO the scripture instead of reading the scripture as written. There are no group discounts in terms of salvation, I hope you know that.

If you're inferring that America is somehow to be deemed the "victor", you would, once again, be inserting your opinion. Nowhere in the entire Bible is America or it's inhabitants mentioned.

I am assuming you are making the "we win" statement as an endorsement of Christianity over Islam. I would submit that the Bible more than plainly states that Jesus Christ will be the victor over Satan, especially as read in Revelations.

In that regard, those who follow and obey Christ's commands and those of His Father, Jehovah God, will enjoy the victory with Him. Christianity and Islam aren't mentioned specifically, nor are any classes, groups, denominations or even races or countries.

At some more appropriate time, it might be interesting to discuss whether Israel is to be, literally speaking, saved and restored as the place where God's Temple will be reestablished. I would submit that with the inclusion of the Gentiles by Jesus Christ, there is a a much broader translation of what constitutes God's chosen people!

                        Good try, though!

So John you are in favor of the terrorists if it makes Obama look bad? Most Republicans seem to favor this stance.

we have a weak and pathetic apologist for a president, who does not like America and does not repsect its constitution. our enemies know this and perceive our country to be weak as well. they have mis-judged the people of America, at least the true Patriots!

Merle T Wiler - I noticed a post or two that blamed President Obama for this incident and I have a simple question.

Ah, because shrub number two (President Bush) was doing this:
Terrorist Safe Havens: Strategies, Tactics, Tools for Disrupting or Eliminating Safe Havens
                            http://www.state.gov/s/ct/rls/crt/2007/104103.htm

This is what the current Secretary of State and US President has done (in one year):

The $900 million US gift to Hamas *****
                            http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/03/the_900_million_us_gift_to_ham.html

2009. This is what opened up the US Borders:

April 2009. US President makes new US Policy during meeting with Mexican President. US Military will not be used to secure US Borders. CDC directed not to call it the "Mexican Flu" (historically viruses named after outbreak location, in this case Mexico City) as this is not the single virus "Swine Flu" (misnomer) this "Mexican Flu" is a combination of Human Flu, Swine Flu and Avian Flu while the meeting is going on. The First Rule of Epidemiology, Quarantine (with Air Travel monitoring, thermography) will not be used, with Quarantine enabling more time to research, test, and produce sufficient vaccines. With the US President stating that "financial matters are more important than potential US Citizens being infected".

August 2009. US President meeting with Mexican President and Canadian Prime Minister. Restated again US Military will not be used to secure US Borders. And again The First Rule of Epidemiology, Quarantine (with Air Travel monitoring, thermography) will not be used, with Quarantine enabling more time to research, test, and produce sufficient vaccines. With the US President stating that "financial matters are more important than potential US Citizens being infected".

                            And:

And immigration remained a sore spot. While Obama has said he'd like to start crafting an overhaul that legalizes millions of Mexican immigrants, there's little chance of Congress acting this year, since even top administration priorities like health care and climate policy are moving slowly amid heated partisan debate.

The numbers of Illegal Aliens detected by certain US Government Agencies using facial recognition software during the 2006 Illegal (no permits) protests Nationwide against stricter 2006 Illegal Alien Laws based on California Proposition 187, is 23 Million. This does not include the 1000s of "anchor babies" born each day. With the US Supreme Court indicating that the 14th Amendment pertains to Slaves involuntarily brought to the US; not "anchor babies" nor Illegal Aliens who are committing crimes against the Citizens of the US and the US Government, specifically Conspiracy to Commit Fraud and Fraud. This explanation (decision) was demanded by both the Illegal Aliens "Harbor States" and those States enforcing the Laws against Illegal Aliens. When this became the decision of the US Supreme Court the "Harbor States" became silent about asking for this decision from the US Supreme Court and even keeping this out of the US News. For those that read and write Espanol, there are Mexican websites that are encouraging pregnant women to come to the US, it has not been proven nor disproven yet if these sites are Mexican Government sponsored (funded), this was also how the Illegal Protests Nationwide of 2006 by Illegal Aliens was also organized.

Regarding the Mexican handling of their own Illegal Alien problem on the southern Mexican Border with Guatemala, this is handled by the Mexican Army with standing orders to shoot to kill. See US State Department Travel Advisory as to why:http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1129.html

With the proposal in Congress (Speaker of the House) that all US Military returning from "the Wars" are possible "Homegrown Domestic Terrorists". Guilty until proven innocent.

Instead what needs to be done is that all the US Military returning from "the Wars" need to be placed under US NORTHCOM and secure the US Borders, as not to add to the US Unemployment. This is already Legal under the February 2009 revised Insurrection Act (US Military Operation within the US).

How can you be so utterly stupid?

By becoming 1980s "Middle East Qualified" during the "Cold War" (US versus USSR including allies/alliances). And not telling them to f$*# off when they recalled me again. By the way do I get a pin to wear saying that I am a "Homegrown Domestic Terrorist" when I return after years of being here (after all that is what Congress wants to say all returning US Military are).

But to really answer the question:

How can you be so utterly stupid?

My being (deployed for years) here instead of you.

**** With the Hamas Warlords, using the 900 Million USDs US Aid to recruit more neutral Palestinians as join Hamas or starve. Just like Somalia again. To prove their loyality these new Hamas Recruits are sent worldwide to kill US Citizens/US Military, this is also in exchange for more weapons to be sent to Palestine by Iran. These weapons are of modern Russian Federation design and Chinese manufacturer (in exchange the Chinese get Iranian Oil). These Hamas Foreign Fighters and Chechen Foreign Fighters are showing up even here at Afghanistan, Iraq, Darfur, etc..

It is not my intention to disclose "Classified Information"

Frankly, I'm surprised there were only "one or two" posts blaming President Obama! I guess the birthers are too busy returning their gifts today, or re-gifting them, as the case may be.

trco: If not for that pesky little piece of intelligence that was a PERSONALLY HANDED to President Bush's administration by the Clinton administration MANY MONTHS before the events of 9/11 entitled "Terrorists to Attack America Using Airplanes" (paraphrased, slightly), you MIGHT have a point.

Being an apologist for the idiocy and irresponsibility of the Bush Administration is an effort in futility, and should be getting a bit tiring for you at this point. There simply is no denying the lunacy of the former administration, and, more specifically, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and their oracle, Carl Rove!

How far down in the Koolaid has your head been buried for the past decade? WAAAY too far down, and you've likely become delusional as a result!

Attempting to blame President Obama for the actions of this wanna-be terrorist, and then attempting to even compare it with the blatant disregard by former President Bush's administration of credible threats of much greater proportions by Al Queda, just goes to demonstrate how brain-washed you really are.

The only possible blame here is for the security agencies that failed to place this guy's name on The No Fly List! I suppose the fact that his family turned him in, and provided information about his threats and hatred of America just wasn't that disturbing to these people. I'm sure a few heads will roll at "the agencies" as a result.

                              HERE'S YOUR SIGN, TRCO! NEXT!

Ignorance on who's part? Yours or theirs? How about both? The enemy is so infiltrated you may as well say the enemy is now within. What do I say? Doesn't matter, since apparently no one understands the mechanics, so please make it up as you go along, to suit your political stances, since that is your focus; divide and conquer, and just maybe, the enemy will win. Just remember, the enemy doesn't have as much, if anything, to lose, especially not politically

I followed 2 dressed in black from head to ancle the other day. They were as tall as I am 6ft. feet large. maybe size 10-11. I wanted them to see me. I wanted them to know I was watching them. Never saw them again. 1 year ago. Give or take some. Every-one watch whats happening around you.

I wouldn't go that far. You know there are other countries in the world. The United States isn't the only country effected by Iran having nuclear weapons. Those other countries aren't doing very much about it either. Personally, I don't think Europe has the balls. China doesn't care. Russia helped them achieve it.

But it WILL backfire on them.

We should leave the ME and tend to our own backyard literally before it's too late.

Oh, they do care, as they are getting Oil from Iran in exchange for modern weapons of Russian Federation design, manufactured in China. They (China) cannot wait till we leave the "Middle East" so that they can increase their "Sphere of Influence" and get the Iraqis Northern and Southern Oil Fields resulting in the US becoming a third world power (similar to WWII Germany after they lost all Oil sources).

We should leave the ME and tend to our own backyard literally before it's too late.

Sorry, as of April 2009, US Military cannot be used to secure US Borders ("own backyard"). Restated again August 2009. With the Drug Lords services (human smuggling, forgery, etc.) being used by Terrorists.

Good you do that. I have had enough. By the way learn some Farsi for US tactical/strategic intelligence reasons and have a background with the INF Germany. Let's reinstitute the Selective Service into the USA and USMC, none to USAF or USN (current budget cuts as unnecessary Conventional Forces in a Asymmetric War).

                                        150000 troops

And do not count the worthless "Political Appointees", "Book smart Civilian Experts", "Lawyers", and other noncombatants.

The terrorists don't just hate Republicans.

Afghanistan isn't the only country with terrorist training camps.

We can't afford to attack every country in the world that harbors terrorists

The War On Terror is still The War On Terror and it isn't over and probably won't be for a long time.

Obama can't change that. The next President will have it to deal with or should we say inherit Obama's continuation of The War On Terror.

Yes, they dont really know the difference between a Dim or a Republican. All they care about is the fact that many of us will not convert to islam and will have to be forced to do so. We are kafir and must be forceably converted or ultimately killed if the world is to be totally muslim someday soon. Many have said they do prefer Obama since he is a muslim, i.e. Khaddafi, for example. They know the truth that our media refuses to accept. They just don't understand why he is fighting them (it is for a season only, until he can gracefully pull us out - without suspicion). But there will not be an inheritance. As we sink into the 2nd Great(er) Depression, Martial Law will become necessary and there will not be another election for several generations.

Merle, you don't get it. We are under attack, left, right, independent, doesn't matter any more. All this liberal, conservative, Bush, Obama BS means nothing. People like you are on the sidelines of life. All of you spouting meaningless crap that amounts to nothing. Don't pay any attention to the bilge from the traditional media, they are all about rateings and getting the maximum ad dollars. Exercise independent thought, if possible. Good luck boys and girls, you are going to need it.

Yes, and for some reason, NOW you won't be allowed to relieve yourself for the last hour or more of the flight --- whatever difference that makes !!! Better not have a Beer or a Drink or you'll be squirming!!

Don't you just love these "shoot from the hip" decisions from the "Airport DMV" that have big impact on all us traveling Americans just because one little pissant muslim gets a little antsy on a flight to the motor city?

No one is going to want to travel before long with all of this......I thought we were Americans.

It is worse than that. As in the article they wrongly indicated that the Saudi attack was underwear.
