OAKLAND — James Stewart raced to his second Monster Energy AMA Supercross victory of the season Saturday night, beating Chad Reed in front of 44,394 fans at rainy Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

Stewart, the Yamaha star from Haines City, Fla., who also won this year in Phoenix, took the lead when Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto crashed on the second lap and led the final 18 laps.

"This is a great win for me and the team," Stewart said. "It's a long season and it's all about winning a championship. The rain tonight made it a little difficult, but I am glad I came out on top."

Stewart took the season lead with 92 points, two more than Villopoto.

Earlier, Kawasaki's Broc Tickle, from Holly, Mich., won the Western Regional Supercross Lites race.

"I was so focused out there tonight," Tickle said. "I knew it was going to be really slick out there, so I tried to ride smooth and take it lap by lap."
