NEW YORK — Moviegoers who stayed for the credits during the romantic comedy "Something Borrowed" in its opening weekend at the box office got a bonus: a tease for a possible sequel starring Kate Hudson and John Krasinski.

"Something Borrowed," based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Emily Giffin, is about a young woman, played by Ginnifer Goodwin, who falls for her best friend's fiance.

Giffin wrote a follow-up book called "Something Blue," which continues the story from the perspective of the best friend, portrayed by Hudson.

Krasinski plays a longtime friend of Goodwin's and Hudson's characters.

The extra scene at the end of the credits over the weekend showed Hudson and Krasinski in London with the text "To be continued."

In a recent interview, Giffin said producers didn't have a finished script for "Blue" but she had "full optimism" the second movie would be made. She said the chemistry between Krasinski and Hudson "is fantastic."

At the film's press junket in Los Angeles last month, Krasinski said, "I would definitely do the sequel if they did it. I think we're waiting to see. Hopefully it happens."

Hudson agreed, saying, "I think most likely we will do one."

Warner Bros. says a decision about another film hasn't been made.

"Something Borrowed" came in fourth in its box office debut, bringing in just under $14 million over its opening weekend.
