JOPLIN — President Barack Obama says the Federal Emergency Management Agency is working with state and local agencies in response to a tornado that ripped through the southwest Missouri community of Joplin.

Obama issued a statement Sunday night sending condolences to families of those who died in storms in Joplin and across the Midwest. He commended the "heroic" efforts of those who are responding to the disaster.

The president says the federal government is prepared to provide help as needed.

People have to understand that geoengineering is a new science, and there will be what are called acceptable losses. Sometimes things will go wrong but in the long run it will save more people from what ever preceived threat we engender. We really wish you were capable of understanding, unfortunately you get upset too easily. So we tell you a story pat your behind and send you off to dream time with a head full of nonsense. Then we can get back to the grown up work of dong whatever we want. It is tragic I suppose, but if you all had not been so stupid and lazy perhaps things could have been different. Unfortunately it is what it is.
