Costly scores 3 as Honduras beats Grenada 7-1

MIAMI — Carlos Costly scored three goals, Jerry Bengston had two and Honduras routed Grenada 7-1 Friday night in a Group B match in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

After Clive Murray put Grenada (0-2-0) ahead in the 19th minute, Honduras (1-0-1) scored three goals in 11 minutes.

Bengston tied the match in the 26th minute and Costly put Honduras ahead for good 2 minutes later. Bengston's second goal made it 3-1 in the 37th minute.

Costly turned the match into a rout with goals in the 67th and 72nd minutes. Walter Martinez scored with 2 minutes remaining in regulation and Alfredo Mejia scored Honduras' final goal in stoppage time.

The third and final Group B matches will be played Monday in Harrison, N.J. Honduras faces group leader Jamaica (2-0-0). while Grenada will take on Guatemala (0-1-1).
