WASHINGTON — Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says he supports French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde's candidacy for the top post at the International Monetary Fund.

In a statement, Geithner says Lagarde's "exceptional talent and broad experience" will provide invaluable leadership for the bank at a critical time for the global economy. He says he is encouraged by the broad support Lagarde has among the fund's membership.

Lagarde is expected to be chosen as early as Tuesday to become the first woman to head the IMF. She would replace Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who resigned last month as managing director after being charged with sexually assaulting a New York City hotel housekeeper.

Geithner also commended the candidacy of Agustin Carstens, a Mexican central banker whose candidacy never caught fire, even among developing countries.

Please send Tim to the IMF to help screw up the whole other world. Hire Lagarde for US Treasurer!

It's understandable Timmy would back her. She's the most corrupt of the choices, and has the experience in such to be a perfect match for the IMF.

Mike, my local congressman got caught with 2.5 million dollars from a few defense contractors. So far he feigns innocence and house ethics committee allows him to use campaign funds to pay legal expenses.

Also, he sent 25 million dollars of your borrowed dollars to a private, under performing company, 5 states to the east.

Seems that corruption is more than rampant. Let's move nations capitol to fly over country and leave lobbyists, lawyers and bankers on the east coast. How about intersection of Ky, Ill, Missouri and even futher west if you like.
