MONTEVIDEO — Uruguay partied through the night, its champion soccer team home from the Copa America.

Some 60,000 fans gathered in the historic Centenario stadium at 3 a.m. to welcome the players. Thousands more crowded the team bus as it drove in from the airport.

Star forward Diego Forlan said he couldn't wait to celebrate after the 3-0 victory over Paraguay on Sunday night in Buenos Aires.

Forward Luis Suarez was voted the tournament's best player. He says Uruguay deserves the title after so many years without a championship. Uruguay last won the Copa in 1995. Now it has 15 titles, one more than rival Argentina.
