NEW YORK — An Aug. 20 article about the drug hydrocodone erroneously stated how many times a prescription can be refilled under federal law. It can be refilled five times after the initial dispensation, not six. The article also should have made clear that federal law says controlled medicines must be kept in a locked cabinet unless the pharmacy disperses them among other containers of pills to discourage thieves, and that state laws may impose additional controls.

The FDA is another Federal agency that failed the people. It is run by former pharmaceutical company executives.

American doctors are nothing more than pharmaceutical drug dealers.

Go to a doctor, you cant leave the office without getting a prescription for a useless, often expensive drug.

Having said that, many drugs do in fact cure problems and save lives.

BUT.... the focus ought to be on prevention and holistic medicine and lifestyle choices, not masking problems with drugs.

Folks, here's the bottom line: if a drug advertisement has more than one symptom, stay away, it was not tested. Most drugs are tested after exposure to the public. Many clinical trials are phony and fraudulent.

If you want to get something from China other than toys and electronics, try Chinese medicine.

CHinese medicine, Native American medicine and African medicines are most like better for you and less likely to kill you in the long run, as are American pharmaceuticals.

"If you want to get something from China other than toys and electronics, try Chinese medicine."

many drugs given us Americans by the drug industry are chinese drugs that are packaged and sold to us at huge mark-ups even though we are selves are NOT allowed to buy drugs from other Countries like Canada and this case China but that does not stop big pharma from doing so. These are products of the Bush pill bill which requires us to buy from American Companies if we want drugs, not American made, just American sold... is this GOP's version of free market in a global economy?

@black spider - "The FDA is another Federal agency that failed the people. It is run by former pharmaceutical company executives." Really? Approval for new drug compounds by the FDA is at all time low. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about as the current FDA review board is considered anti-pharma.

Ad w/ more than one symptom it wasn't tested? Really? What is the ONE symptom associated w/ Diabetes, Hypertension or say...Cancer? Please do tell what that is so we can watch out for it.

Go have another bowl of dog balls soup and leave western medicine to trained physicians.
