LOS ANGELES — Rocker Gene Simmons and his longtime girlfriend, actress Shannon Tweed, have tied the knot.

Publicist Dawn Miller offered her congratulations to "the new married couple" on Facebook.

Simmons and Tweed have been a couple for years. Their engagement announcement last month surprised many fans.

People magazine reported the couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves. The magazine said about 400 guests attended the Saturday evening ceremony outside a Beverly Hills hotel.

The 62-year-old Kiss bassist and the 54-year-old Tweed have two children.

The new season of the reality show "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" premieres Tuesday on the A&E network.

I'm glad!

The worst thiing that could have ever happened to Gene Simmons would have been to lose Shannon over trying to maintain some BS rock-star "image." Especially after 28 years and two grown children.

Should have happened a long time ago---and I'm sure Gene'll find he can still rock out with the best of them. He hasn't lasted three-plus decades in the rock game for nothing.

Remembering Gene back in the day...no I think it's time for all of us to slow down....but Lord knows, we had fun. K.I.S.S. will always rank with Jimi, Janis, and Morrison. But I think he found out that Shannon won't take no sh** from him. lol

      JimEdee,

So true---on both the fun and the time to slow down!

I'm glad to welcome Gene to the "Tired Old Married Duffer" club. I think he'll find it's really not a bad place to be.

As long as he remembers two well established rules:

"Yes, dear" and "No,dear" and don't use the "no" one to many times. lol

          JimEdee,

I find that selective deafness also buys time. I've been on the wrong end of a few artillery strikes...but I never thought the damage would be useful, lol!

              JimEdee,

Five years infantry (incl 2 Special Forces) and three Field Artillery. My wife is former USAF but (fortunately?) I really am kinda deaf...
