PROVO — Police in Utah say a 32-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of shoplifting falsely told officers she co-starred with Bill Cosby on "The Cosby Show."

Police say Leah Efay Davis of Provo, Utah, was in a J.C. Penney store when they say she put several items into a bag and walked out of the store. Security stopped her and found she had about $600 worth of goods.

Authorities say she told officers she played the role of Rudy Huxtable, but actress Keisha Knight Pulliam actually played Rudy, the youngest daughter on the 1980s sit-com.

Court records say Davis also claimed she owned the mall in which she was arrested.

The Salt Lake Tribune (http://bit.ly/wvYewn) reports Davis was charged with a felony count of retail theft and a misdemeanor trespassing charge.

I guess you have to give it a shot. You might be out of luck as a Black shoplifter in Utah. I would guess Cosby is more liked then even Oprah in Utah. Claiming to be Brigham Young's daughter might not fly. If it was LA, Cali. she might of had a chance to get over.

Can't blame her for trying. If she's lucky maybe she can get a TV appearance out of it. Otherwise join the Utah church, get off the @!$%# you're on and praise Jesus.

On a side note, what ever happened to the real Ruddy? Bad child actor tale or person with a "Guess what I did when I was a kid", tale? The Cosby show was good TV even if a bit preachy.

Bill Cosby is a serious man. I remember his work as a kid in the 70's and 80's. Fat Albert was a good show.
