KNOXVILLE — Glory Johnson had 14 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 8 Tennessee beat Auburn 82-61 on Sunday.

The Lady Volunteers (17-6, 8-2 Southeastern Conference) turned 23 Auburn turnovers into 21 points and outshot the Tigers 50 percent to 37 percent in the second half.

Auburn (11-13, 3-8) hit six of its first nine shots and led by as many as five points early, but the Lady Vols turned up the pressure, forcing turnovers and getting transition baskets.

Meighan Simmons sank a 3 to knot the game at 14 points with 14:22 in the first half. The basket launched a 7-0 run that put Tennessee ahead for good, and the Lady Vols led 44-31 at halftime.

The Tigers pulled within eight with 6:54 to play, but the Lady Vols again came up with a few steals and transition baskets to put the game away.

Camille Glymph led Auburn with 13 points.
