No. 20 Georgia Tech women beat Wake Forest 67-52

WINSTON SALEM — Dawnn Maye had 23 points and Tyaunna Marshall tallied a double-double to lead No. 20 Georgia Tech over Wake Forest 67-52 on Thursday night.

Sasha Goodlett chipped in 16 points, Metra Walthour 10 and Marshall had 14 points and 10 boards in the Yellow Jackets sixth win in their last seven.

Georgia Tech (19-7, 9-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) led by as many as 11 in the second half, despite making just 9 of 32 from the field in the first half. In the second half, the Yellow Jackets shot 55.2 percent (16 of 29), including a stretch of five straight points by Maye to make it 43-27 with 15:51 to play.

Georgia Tech scored 21 points off of 23 turnovers, and got five steals from Maye.

Boykin Lakevia scored 16 points to lead the Demon Deacons (15-11, 5-8), who snapped a three-game winning streak.
