MOSCOW MILLS — Defending champion Ireen Wust of the Netherlands earned her third career title at the World Allround Speedskating Championships on Sunday after finishing in the top three in all four races.

Wust finished third in Saturday's 500-meter opener and was second in the next three races over the two days to top the standings with 161.050 points.

Long-distance specialist Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic won the women's final 5,000-meter race in 6 minutes, 58.74 seconds at the Krylatskoye Ice Stadium oval to finish second overall with 161.870 points.

Wust was 3.65 seconds behind for second in the race.

Overall World Cup leader Christine Nesbitt had a 2.70 second advantage over Wust going into the final race after winning the 1,500 earlier in the day. But she could not keep pace with the Dutchwoman and finished a distant eighth in the 5,000 to drop to third overall.

The Canadian clocked 1:55.95 to set a track record in the 1,500. She shaved off just .01 seconds from the previous mark set by Claudia Pechstein in 2008.

Wust was 1.03 seconds behind for second, followed by Cindy Klassen of Canada at 1:57.61.

In the men's field, Sven Kramer missed the podium in the 1,500-meter race but remained at the top of the men's standings after three races.

Kramer finished fourth, 0.48 seconds behind winner Havard Bokko of Norway, who was timed at 1:46.82, but preserved a 2.20 second advantage over fellow Dutchman Jan Blokhuijsen going into the final and his favorite, the 10,000 meter race.

Defending champion Ivan Skobrev was 0.12 seconds behind Bokko for second. He was followed by Blokhuijsen at 1:47.22.
