Hillary knows this election is about ideals, not individuals, and she appealed to party unity with magnanimity more than worthy of her caus
Great Speech!!!Now if the people who needed to listed where. This is a pivotal point in our nations history we can't afford another four more years of the miserable Bush policies so don't be a poor loser..
I AGREE!!!!
Perhaps you should get the facts, learn to spell and STOP SHOUTING! Then maybe you'd be qualified to criticize a Harvard Law grad who has lived the American dream.
Well, a great speech is delivered by a person that believes in the speech------she is trying to do what she can now, but for her future, not for Obama. I listened to about 5 minutes and that was all I could stomach. The woman simply give me a rash! I am just so proud that Obama did NOT pick her or I would have to set out this election!
HENRY WILSON - sound like a moron. just wanted you to know.
Hey#2.2,
Don't forget, the moon is made out of cheese too.
WHAT A FLAMING IDIOT YOU ARE! AMERICA SHOULD BE AFRAID OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU... SUCKERS FOR MIS-INFORMATION AND PROVEN LIES BY THOSE WHO WANT OT RETAIN POWER. GOD HELP US.
With that diatribe your racism and polluted thoughts shine through. You may need a lesson in humanity. Look at where our country is after 8 years of the Bush administration. Join the other 31 percent of the nation that likes him and his view of the religious right. Bush was a good president? Please simple math 2 terms + 2 oil men = 4 dollar gas. I have in fact read Obama's book and no were in it does it say he is funded by Muslims or hated his parents, in fact he only naturalized US citizens can run for president. Oh and by the way what kind of political experience did the republician Arnold Schwartzniger have when he ran and was elected Governer of Califorina? You need to check your facts and/or provide links to all the hate you cast.
"Oh, Wilson - punch you in the eye!"
Hey Paige,
Did you happen to notice the approval rating of the do-nothing Democrapic-controlled Congress lately? It happens to be less than that of Bush! Way to go Pelosi & Reid. That will get your man elected.
McCain 08
Yeah... they're scared that if they don't remain silent... they'll get sent into war with Iran...
As an independent, I am a bit unhappy with how slowly the change has come about since power shift. To me, this is exactly why we need someone new and vigorous like Obama. I don't need another status quo McCain ready to sit on his hands and let things play themselves out. He's not the worst choice (we just had that), but he isn't exactly dazzling me with any of his ideas. Seems like a lot of the same wrapped in a more digestible package. That doesn't do much for me.
HENRY WILSON is an idiot. Maybe he should be writing those idiotic comments on the FOX web Site. He will fit right in with them.
I was very much against Hillary, but yesterday she did a great job. She did what she had to do...to unite as all.
Thank you Hillary.
I felt that Senator Clinton did what she needed to do to unite the Party; however, she did not do much to show that Senator Obama is truly qualified to be president. I did not see Obama having any other choice in picking his running mate. Clinton stayed in the primary too long and she went too negative. If she had gotten out after super Tuesday and join forces with Obama; then I would be furious if he had not picked Senator Clinton. He is capable of take this party to the white House. The Media is making more of a big deal out of things that do not really matter. What consideration would Clinton give Barack; had she won the nomination?
What is with the claw-like right hand. Started out pretty good but the old girl couldn't help herself--out came Bill's wife -- the one who thinks she is entitled...to whatever she wants. Pants suits are a little old too. Kind of frumpy for someone who believes she should rule the world. Please dear Lord keep him (especially) out of the West Wing.
The Clintons did everything within there power during both there speeches to unite the party and show support for Obama. What more do you want. How was Hillary or anyone else supposed to promote his accomplishments. There haven't been any since he's been in office of any substance. Come on....that's the whole problem here that Obama has. Inexperience and not enough time in office to have a real record, know the inner workings of the government in order to get things done. Take a break from your Clinton should have done more soap box. I will not be voting for McCain no matter how much he targets the Hillary Democrats which I am proudly one. As an educated woman working in the banking industry, a single Mom, trying to make ends meet, I would like to be represented in office. Right now, neither ticket does that for me. If I decide to vote in November, I will tow the party line without the confidence the there is enough experience, no matter how much I like Obama's idea's, to get it done for the country. That is the only reason that he does not have my support. But, let me state that McCain can waste his campaign dollars all he wants targeting me and other Hillary supporters, but the only way he would ever get my vote is if he dragged my corps to the voting booth and put my lifeless finger on the lever.
I was not a supporter for Hillary nor Obama but she put aside a very hard & competitive campaign run to unite behind the common goals that they share. There is a reason why she created history with this campaign. I think she did a great job for supporting Obama and also setting herself up for 2012 at the same time. She is good, no one disputes that.
For the first time, she made me proud of her.

Her speech and presence just proved that she should be the nominee.
somebody bitter about hil-dog losing? get over it. the right person won the primary.
You obviously didn't listen to what she said. She is voting for Obama. She asked you and all her supporters if you are in it for her or for the cause. I guess we know your answer. :(
Actually her speech proved that she is not selfish and is really about the nation and what is best at this point in time.
Henry Wilson, Dude you better have some facts if your gonna shout that crap on this forum. Obama's not a legal citizen?! Obama's allegience is to Africa and Muslims?! I gaurantee that is in fact not in his book. Give us all the page number where that is written so we can all see for ourselves.
Hill knew those votes wouldn't count from the start and agreed to not run or campaign in those states. She broke her promise and then when it looked like she could win she started crying about it and getting her people to cry about it too as though they were somehow tricked. The Dems had to make a hard decision but in the end made the right choice. The national party has say over the state parties who broke the rules. It's called consequences. This was never about Hill.
And dude, ALL CAPS MAKES YOU SOUND CRAZY!!!
hey Henry, could you site some sources for your information, or is it just hype? What you say is interesting, but i doubt it has any real ground. You sound like you're paranoid delusional, since you offer no evidence.
I agree with Henry Wilson. Those that are in favor of Obama are putting a lot of trust in a man who has only been on the political scene for the last few years. I'm a Republican and even I have more trust in Hillary because I feel that she would, if nothing else, still protect our country as oppose to Obama, whom I fear might possibly hand over our wonderful country on a silver platter.
I have a question for Obama. Who decided that it might be a good idea to start meeting with the leaders of the countries that would love nothing more than to see us destroyed? This saying says it all - "If you stand for nothing, you will fall for everything".
The United States of America didn't become the place of freedom it is today by trying to keep the world happy. Our early Presidents understood that, why is it so hard to comprehend now?
Do your research, don't just jump on the band wagon.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. Hillary should have been our nominee. After last nights speech, I think many Obama fans might be regretting their original choice. Hillary is one classy lady, with such a passion for all that is America - we will live to regret the events of this past year. God help us all.
Oh let me see. Did not Nixon go to China? Reagan to Moscow. That was called DIPLOMACY. What Obama did was called DIPLOMACY. What Bush JR. did was called reckneck stupidity that destroyed any creditability that America had left. McBush wants to keep it up and destroy the world in the name of McCain. Some New World Order. Huh.
Henry Wilson,
Sometimes I get pretty hyped up reading all the ignorant, and asinine comments posted on here. I say things that really aren't what I'm all about. I've been trying to hold back on my harshest comments. But I've got to admit you bring out the worst in me.
Hillary did indeed show some class last night, when there were many times doing the primaries she was sorely lacking. I wish she would have gone further, and said that she sees in Obama the qualities that make a good president. I thought her most effective moment was when she asked her supporters were they just in it for her, or for that marine, that single mom, and that little boy.
But...back to you. Nothing is more "ghetto" than what you posted on here. Nobody has to "teach" Michelle how to walk, or talk. Her parents did a very good job of that years ago, thank you very much. Something your parents were obviously woefully neglectful about. To raise a piece of @!$%# like yourself, now that takes an extraordinary lack of home training. What exactly about Michelle Obama is militant? Her Princeton degree? Her law degree? Paid with student loans I might add. Judging from your post, neither of which you have. You sound like the small minded piece of @!$%#, I have no doubt you are. Obama does have class, so does Michelle. Obviously the same can't be said for you. Hillary wasn't cheated out of votes. I know it does your pea sized racist mind good to believe that, but the facts are as follows...
1. Both candidates agreed not to count the votes in Florida, and Michigan
2. Barack Obama didn't campaign in Florida, and his name wasn't on the ballot in Michigan
3. Hillary didn't have a problem with the DNC rules, until she started losing
Yeah, there's a lot of propaganda going on, and it's coming out of your mouth, and people like you who refuse to face the facts. Hillary is what her campaign dictated her to be...the runner up. What "Big" money are you talking about? All the big money backed Hillary. I know the facts scare you, but man up @!$%#. When this campaign started Hillary had an unprecedented war chest. The political wisdom was that Barack Obama could never compete. What the political wisdom left out of the equation was the people. The people of America that donated to Obama's campaign in record number. I believe they said the average donation was 70 dollars. That's a lot of Americans. Trust me nobody could "move" Hillary, or Bill out of anything. You don't have to look "behind the scenes". What you need to see is right in front of you. Obama won 38 states. Lost the popular vote by .07%, and ran a better campaign. By the way Barack Obama's "real" name is Barack. That's what his parent's named him. I know, he went by the name "Barry" for awhile, but that's not what his parents named him. And in fact the reason he went by the name Barry is because it sounded more "American", more "normal", and more "white", if you will. What is a joke is you think his actual name is Barry. What is a joke is that you portend to have knowledge that you don't have. What is a joke is you try to come off as a person of intellect, when really you're just a racist, dumb, politically ignorant piece of @!$%#. You are so @!$%#ing ridiculous. You think Farrakhan gave Obama 12 MILLION dollars? Has your head always been up your ass, or is that a recent affliction? Do you just sit around, make up @!$%#, and call it fact? Are you sure you're not a Republican? Where exactly do you do your research? Republican websites? Blogs? Neo-nazi websites? And so ALL the news organizations, and the Hawaiian birth records have it wrong? He wasn't born in Hawaii? It's all a conspiracy to elect Obama to the White House. And why does big money want Obama in the White House, when all his policies are anti-big money? Let's see he wants to raise taxes on the rich, tax big oil, limit the influence of pharmaceutical lobbyist, clamp down on speculators, and yet they want him to win the election? Wow he really is good. Dumbass. Do you even hear how foolish that sounds? Please for the safety of others, commit yourself now. You have lost it. Did you even read Obama's book? Wait, now I've lost it. Of course you didn't. Here's a "red flag" for your ass...YOU'RE CRAZY, NUT"S, INSANE, but worst of all...you're just stupid. Obama did not say that in his book. Those words never came out of his mouth. I would suggest you go to factcheck.org, and "research" all this nonsense you've just posted on here. I would then suggest you save the taxpayer's some money, and NOT commit yourself, but instead find a very powerful gun, get yourself a very large bullet, put it in your mouth, and pull the trigger. Let your neglectful parents clean up the mess. It's the least the could do for raising a piece of @!$%# like you.
Get over it CLAUDETTE!! The bottom line is "HILLARY IS NOT THE CANDIDATE OBAMA IS AND AN EXELLENT CHOICE I MIGHT ADD!! Hillary does not have as much public experience as BARRACK with respect to the ability to pass legislation ....and since when did FIRST LADY count as official public legislation experience ?
Your know what they say about opinions....there like ******** and everybody has one. Obama may be your choice, but he is not mine. I will not vote for McCain as one of my previous posts states, McCain would have to drag my dead corps to the polls and place my lifeless finger on the lever in order to get my vote. But, my candidate lost partly due to the "good old boys club" that can't handle a strong woman leading them, and partly because there were so many disenfranchised voters like from my state of Florida where Hillary clearly won but only half our votes got counted thanks to the idiots that decided to hold the elections early. It was the electoral college promising there votes to Obama even though Hillary won the popular vote that brought this about.......again "the stodgy old cigar smoking idiots", that don't like women unless there kissing their wives and giving speeches about their wonderful mothers in order to get re-elected. Women out number men in this country by a large margin, so why is it that we still haven't had a woman in the white house other then to pick out china patterns and support her husband? With the current state this country is in thanks to the out dated ideals and poor republican leadership, we need a leader that has the experience and know how to get the changes through successfully instead of being pushed around due to lack of experience by the old Democratic leadership. And I believe that is exactly what will happen when Obama takes office. He hasn't had the time to make the in roads he needs to get the support that will be needed to change policy and gain the support of the old ideals still hanging around the senate and the house. In another 4 years maybe he would get my vote without having to cross my fingers and hope for the best. He has no real record to look at yet and no real clout to get the job done if he gets opposition. I like his idea's, but I don't think he currently has what it takes to get it done. I hope I'm wrong and since I have no other choice this election, he will grudgingly get my vote since a vote for hope is better then nothing.
Hillary spoke more about herself than anything. What history did she make? Geraldine Ferraro made history. Hillary just lost something she thought she had in the bag.
Hillary NEVER said Obama had what it takes, character, EXPERIENCE, anything , to be president. I never felt that her speech reflected any confidence in Obama. As she has previously said - "I have the experience and Obama has a speech he made in 2002."
This is too important of a job to give to someone with no experience. GET REAL people or you put our whole nation in danger!!!!!
Yeah, it's much less dangerous to elect a man gung ho not only about bombing Iran, but also about killing ALL IRANIANS. He also wants us to do something tougher with Russia. Like what? Bomb them too? How many wars can we fight. Do we really want to be getting into a war with countries filled with nuclear weapons. Hello? John McCain is the real danger here. Just because Democrats have so far avoided using the cheap scare tactics of the Republicans, doesn't mean the truth isn't sitting there looking us in the eye. If you think negotiation and taking back our roll as leaders in the free world is DANGEROUS and giving dreams back to the American people, yeah, then you're right. Obama's experience in a non-factor. We all know the president makes no decision on his own. Obama will be surrounded by experienced men in his cabinet and as vp who will help him. Bush had Cheney. Who knows who will be advising John McCain. My gut tells me nobody -- he seems like a my way or the highway kinda guy. That's something that's really scary.
Obama, McCain nor Hillary have never been president. Just because they are up in age does not mean McCain or Hillary are any more prepared to lead than Obama. Democrats who plan to sit out or vote for McCain WERE only in it for Clinton, not for your children or grandchildren. McCain has no agenda. He is obsessed with inserting negativity in this campaign. The thought of McCain extending Bush's legacy will lead us into a future of more constant struggle for the middle class and prosperity for the rich.
GET REAL yourself, so McBush has had the experience for what being in the Senate taking care of the rich? Flip flop on the maverick ideals? So sorry you feel that another Republican will change anything in this country. don't you think that 8 years of BUSH has done aenough damaged to the people of this country?
No president runs a country alone. With so many appointed positions surrounding the pres there will be plenty of "experience" around him. I think a president with little experience is what we need right now. Someone who hasn't been brainwashed and entrenched in typical Washington politics.
You want to put our nation in danger, Vote for McSame. Let's have 4 more years of war and economic hardship. Let's strain our international ties to the point where we are an outcast in the global scheme. Let's give more money in tax breaks and incentives to big business so the top 1% can get richer still while the rest of us have to decide weather gas or food is more important this week.
Hillary Clinton called for harmony within her 'sisterhood' by solidifying passion and genuine loyalty to the Democratic Party principles. Those so-called Clinton supporters who vow that they will vote for McCain were NEVER, NEVER true to her ideals and platform. They are Republican sellouts; they want to undermine the Democratic momentum by dividing the ranks and using continuous spin--lies to disguise their ploy and hide their weakness: McCain's character issue. Obama's voting record and background demonstrates a sincere public servant with dignity.
McCain is a frightening figure to have in the White House. His basic character is weak and his idea of negotiation is to verbally attack anyone who asks him 'uncomfortable' questions and walk out. And what about his family life? Where is his family? Does he have children? What about his life as a youth? THAT is what his supporters should be researching! No matter how many years he's been in politics; he has not learned to deal with tough situations requiring diplomacy. Many, many interviews and video clips show him at his worst. It's truly frightening. Do you homework before you tell ME who will put my nation in DANGER.
"This is too important of a job to give to someone with no experience". Exactly. It is too important of a job to give to McCain who is on the wrong side of every issue that is important to me as a Democrat and as a Hillary supporter. The decision is between someone who agrees with Hillary on 95% of policy and issues (Obama) or someone who is AGAINST everything Hillary believes in (McSame). Sorry, no-brainer here.
There is a lot at stake and anyone who would want another war should vote for McCain anyone who doesn't care about the vets should vote for McCain since he voted down the bill to increase their benefits; those who want to see the draft reinstated should vote for McCain
Vote Obama/Biden 2008, 2012
Come on she can't say that !! Be serious so far he has shown no character, he has no experience but; he's still way better then McCain't. Making those statement would have set up the talking heads. She did it right.
Our nation is in danger. But; in four months we'll start to fix it. Lead follow, never mind just get out of the way you incompetent bunglers have done enough - !!
How any republican has the audacity to say any thing is laughable..
BUSH had no experience, Bill Clinton had no experience. McCain has no experience on economy, healthcare, education, or the environment. I'm not sure what people are asking for when they say experience. hillary was a senator for a shorter amount of time than Barack Obama has been involved as a state congressman and senator. Being the wife doesn't bring experience.
Hey Dan........look what 8 years of Bill n Hill got us! More than 3,000 American civilians killed on Sept. 11 because Bill couldn't pull his pants up long enough to give the order to make a strike against the training camps of Al Qaida.
Tom if that's your level of thinking, just make sure you know that McCain was 'courting' Miss Money when he was still married to his FIRST WIFE! He divorced her when she needed him most--she was disfigured from a car crash and needing his support. MUCH worse than anything Bill Clinton ever did!
She did what she had to do to unite the party, she asked her supporters to support Obama. What do you people want from this woman. The reason she didn't say he had what it takes, is because she doesn't believe he does. Why should she be a phony, when all through the primaries, she said he was not ready to be President. Good job Hillary!
She spoke about his character but what the hell is anyone supposed to say about his "experience" other then he has none, or at least not enough. Chill out! He has no real achievements to speak of as a senator. That's what all the back and forth is about in the democratic party. Look his ideas are good, and another republican in office would just leave a bigger disaster for the next guy to clean up and would leave this country in total despair, (which were already on our way there.) Some of us just want a candidate that can actually get things done and who has the experience (which Obama will have in the next 4-8 years) to rescue this country from the mess left by the Bush regime. Sorry to say but I just don't think he has the experience, knowledge and ability at this point in his career to get it done. So I have to place my vote with my fingers crossed and a lack of confidence in the person I'm voting for. Thanks Democratic party.
OMG vaz, I can't believe you said that. I am not a McCain lover by any stretch of the imagination but he has had life experience in diplomacy. Think about it for a minute, please. Would you have survived in the terrible situation that his country put him in 35 years ago. I think not.
To me her speech demonstrate her hypocrisy, just a few months ago Obama was not ready to lead the nation, he was incapable as a leader, and now suddenly like magic he is the best candidate, as a matter of fact "her candidate". Incredible!
You are so right on! In just a few months it would seem the man has suddenly acquired the experience Hillary claimed he lacked! Unbelievable.
Give her a break. Everyone can change their minds. She wouldn't have run if she didn't think she would be the best candidate. Perhaps upon taking Obama on she learned that he is a much better leader than she realized. He ran a great campaign. He remained fiscally sound. He inspired a whole new generation of voters. He used the Internet to promote and reach people. So she learned something about him. Open your minds. She is right that it's time we take back control of the leadership of this country. We cannot survive another four years of McSame!!
well lets see...when hillary was running against him, she didn't think he had experience....of course shes going to say that! shes trying to win!
Of course hillary still believes shes the best candidate for the position, but that doesn't change the fact that obamas the nominee - the two have EXTREMELY similar views on the issues and it would make no sense for hillary not to support obama.
Seriously? Hillary, not Barack, was the one that consistently, throughout the primaries, even when things got nasty - said "Either way, we're going to be just fine."
She said it then, she's saying it now. She's being beyond graceful. She's being 110% the supporter that everyone was saying she wouldn't be. There's no "reading her body language," a lot of these Obama supporters really need to cool it on the Clinton bashing, and start paying attention to helping Obama win. He certainly can't do it without the Clintons, and more importantly her supporters.
So back off - she wants him to win - she's been in the spotlight to try to bring everyone behind him, she's raising money for him, she's making speeches for him. Most unsuccessful candidates are bitter and quiet for years (McCain vs Bush lasted for almost 4 years before McCain could say anything nice).
I'm a die-hard Hillary supporter, and she was absolutely the best candidate. Obama was a great one, but didn't come close.
But still - I'm voting Obama/Biden because I'm excited about them, too. Unity takes getting off your high horse and rubbing our noses in the primary loss. Without the superdelegates, she was 100 votes away. Have some respect; they were neck and neck the whole time.
Where in her speech did she say that he was any more experienced now than during the primaries, she didn't. so where is the hypocrisy. She said she will support him, because his views are closer to hers than John McCain's.
She gave it her all and this alone should be what the media should be commenting on! Not if she is only doing it to be able to run in 2012 or anything else! Give her a break! I personally think that the roll call should be allowed to follow through to the end. Let the American people see who has backed who. And if Obama was any kind of a unified Democrat that they want her to be, then he and his followers would agree to do that!
Finally, give the woman her due!!!!
Your coverage is very disappointing. Olberman is over the top. The reporting is so biased it is unwatchable.
Just a balance to Fox who are also so over the top as to be unwatchable. Except Olberman is one guy. Fox is a whole network.
Jim Smith, then don't watch. Go back to fox nooz where you get the evil hypocritical republican lies that gave us the last 8 years. Go back to supporting the oilmen in the current white house who did their best to dismantle democracy, but still have a big agenda left that they want mcsame to finish for them. Next week is your week, and I promise that I won't watch. I won't waste my time.
Go Obama! Thanks Hillary, you did a superb job. In 2016 I will absolutely consider voting for you then. I wasn't ready this time around, because I knew the republicans were salivating at the chance to crucify you. However, Bill still has to come through for Obama big time tonight.
Go Dems!!!!
Absolutely...as one great comedian stated: "You can always count on getting both points of view from the Fox network: The President's and the Vice President's"
That network is a disgrace to journalism.
well said about Fox "News". it has been proven they are a propaganda machine for the white house, as 2 minutes of viewing will tell you. thank god we have voices of reason like keith olbermann that speak the truth. you can't expect to get true unbiased coverage from a network whose leader (rupert murdoch) is the love slave of the bush/cheney regime. fox doesn't even deserve a news channel, they should get back to sunday afternoon matinee's.
What channel do you watch? FOX??????????
Keith Olberman's obvious biases disqualify him from being considered a legitimate newsperson. He presents his opinions and point of view as if they were fact. He is is smug and arrogant. I now switch to another channel when he is on.
And I bet that channel is Fox where the news is SOOO unbiased. I personally try to watch all of them...or watch the speeches and debates and form my own opinions. Quit letting the new-media decide this election. If we would all stop throwing barbs at each other we might possibly be able to accomplish something.
No, it's not Fox, I don't watch it. I generally watch MSNBC because I've always thought they presented information and facts and let the viewer form their own opinion, with the exception of Olberman. During this convention, I've been disappointed by the "cheer-leading" that many of their reporters have displayed - praising their favorites while dissing those they don't like. It makes you question their objectivity and the accuracy of their reporting when they promote a point of view.
I agree about throwing barbs. The constant call for "red meat" (attacks on the other party and its candidates) by several correspondents is distressing. This is an election, where we're supposed to be considering ideas, not a blood sport. All of the candidates, from both parties, are Americans and interested in what's best for the country. They can disagree without rancor and personal attacks, but - too often spurred by the media - they demean themselves.
The Clintons know that their personal ambition does not trump the good lives that all citizens of this great country deserve; good lives which would be denied if McCain is elected or appointed president. They knew, also, that their legacy, the beacon of hope for the masses is in the balance. Nothing beats a good legacy, not even power!
Hillary and Obama are two different kinds of animals. There can be no possible compromise in the eyes of the voter to enable a sincere shift of loyalties from Hilary to Obama. This whole thing is a farce. Self comes first when one's needs are questioned.
The speech was good but lacked conviction. Hilary should have told the Democrats that they should wait four years for her to rise again, while they help the party win the White House this time. This would help retain the loyalty she deserves.
'Self Comes First When One's Needs Are Questioned'
I'd love to agree with that statement, except it doesn't actually mean anything...
If your point is that all you care about is electing Hillary, then hopefully you live in a solidly blue state, because you should not be allowed to decide the future of this country if you're more concerned about yourself than our whole nation...
I liked the speech, but I'm not convinced this whole "split" in the party isn't mostly among the press ...
Great speech! But I still won't vote for Obama!
I just hope you don't have any young children and have a lot of money if McCain gets in. I'm sure you are just so perfect and no everything right? Oh wait, maybe you should run for president.
I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN. IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND...IF OBAMA WINS, HE WILL RAISE TAXES FOR EVERYONE. YOU SOUND LIKE THE STEREOTYPE SINGLE MOM WITH LIMITED INTELLIGENCE. IT SEEMS THAT ALL OF YOU WHO RECITE THE SAME STUPID RHETORIC SHARE ONE BRAIN AND EACH ONE HAS ONLY ONE BRAIN CELL. PERHAPS I SHOULD HAVE USED SIMPLE WORDS IN ORDER FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND SINCE YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE A LIMITED VOCABULARY, NOT TO MENTION YOUR SPELLING (NO? - DON'T YOU MEAN KNOW?)
THANK GOD YOU'RE NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.
Why don't you learn proper Caps use. And then talk. Also any economist will tell you, your wrong and ill-informed. Thank goodness your not running you cant even research the facts, let alone make a point.
Coming from someone who only writes in caps... 5th graders only do that. You sound so scared that Obama actually could win, you're throwing out false claims. Its funny seeing the Republicans squirm.
GP you certainly sound like a typicall Neo-Con. Cannot discuss issues and making personal attacks. Just like McCain. You know that you are wrong on the issues so you have to use personal attacks rather debating this issues. You are sad.
I thought she did a great job. We must ALL band together to see change. Yea, Hillary, what a cheerleader.
I think Hillary did a good job in her speech. I, however, am still waiting for Obamba to actually 'say something' about what he will do as president. Just saying change over and over says nothing except that he may have no ideas at all.
I'm so sick of people saying that all Obama talks about is change. These are clearly people who have never actually heard the man speak. When I saw Obama in person - and at that time I was still wasn't sure who I'd vote for - he spoke very clearly about Iraq and his plan for a timeline for withdrawl. He also spoke about making healthcare affordable for all Americans, investing in renewable energy to reduce our dependancy on foreign oil, and increasing taxes for the wealthiest Americans while reducing taxes for the rest of us. And of course he explains how he's going to do all of this is on his website in great detail. These people who complain that all Obama is about is hope and change, are people who have made up their minds about him for one reason or another. The do not really care what he actually is about or what he actually has to say. I find that very sad.
And saying "My Friends or I am a POW" is saying more? Remember Change is about moving forward or taking a direction that is different from the now. I am not sure if the "Change" will be better or not but if we continue on the path we are on now, I ask are we be better off? History is about events that change societies viewpoints and way of life. If we as a society did not change our opinion on slavery were would we be, if we did not change our opinion on equal voting rights were would we be. If those first settlers of America did not want a change to their way of life were would we be. Eight years of the same is enough and change is welcome to take the driving seat for awhile. If it does not go well in four years we can change again.
So go to his website. He says it all there. Voters can't just wait to be spoonfed a candidate's positions. We have to do research to be informed. Obama's speeches can't go into details because there's no time and it will surely put the audience to sleep. That's why all candidates talk in generalizations at big events. McCain does the same thing. It's public speeking 101. When McCain talks there's never any detail either; he says what he thinks the audience wants to hear. Unfortunately what McCain's audience wants to hear is often not in line with reality. And all they seem to want to hear is stories about Obama. They should start asking for stories about McCain! I've been waiting to hear that.
gandalf4217 go to barackobama.com and read his blueprint for America, 64 pages of his plan to govern, I am sure it will anaswer all your questions
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Some freaking common sense, but people are so scared of change. I think for the whole world to get over it a whole generation is going to have to die before change is seen as a positive than a negative and that includes race as being a deciding factor, don't think that that isn't a factor in many american's minds. I'm by no means calling out everybody but some people just can't see a black man into office. And watch who makes my point because only people in denial about reality and the hit 'hit dog' will hollar.
The reason we ask for details not just posted on his website is because unless he comes out and gives details publicly, he'll never be held to those details. For example George H. Bush famously claimed "no new taxes" but got thrown to the fire because of that statement. Obama doesn't want to give sound bites about things he has no intention of following through with. So he simply repeats "change" over and over again until the sheep of this country mold that word into whatever they want that "change" to be for them. He doesn't have to give specifics publicly.
You need to get with the program and do some reading. I bet you don't answer the phone to hear Barack's ideas; you throw away letters that give details of his plan. What do you need to learn about his great, extensive platform? Are you listening? Let me just give you two for now:
Create New Jobs: An Obama administration will foster home-grown innovation and ensure that we can retain and grow high-paying jobs in fast-growing sectors in the sciences and technology rather than exporting those jobs to lower cost labor markets abroad.
Lower Health Care Costs by Investing in Electronic Information Technology Systems: A key feature of Barack Obama's health care plan is the use of technology to lower the cost of health care. Most medical records are still stored on paper . . .
We need to be more active and less passive during critical elections! What is your specific personal interest that you need information on to make a decision in this presidential election: jobs, healthcare, education, military? It's all laid out for you in Barack Obama's Plan!!!
McCain offers a flimsy list of same old Conservative views:
Supports expanded eligibility for tax-free medical savings accounts. [in order words, why can't the average American just save money to pay for their own medical needs]
Supports legislation to detail how personal information can be collected and used on the Internet. [No progressive funding to support use of technology and create jobs for the future]
You're making me do all your homework! Whew!!! It's your turn now. Go get educated! Don't be high maintenance.
We need to know how many abortions Hillary had vs Michelle. Who has sacrificed the most children on the alter of sexual freedom through the godless sacrament of abortion. That would be a true test of their Democrat credentials.
Are you completely insane?
Dude...
You know...it's scary people like you that will sacrifice the goodwill of a nation on the basis of a single platform. You're probably of the same mindset that Bush is a "good and moral man" just because he carries around a bible. Take a good look at the state of this country...you and your Republican friends can take full credit for it. Good job.
Who are you, God? That is for God to judge. And if you are God, Ithink I'll look for my spirituality somewhere else, thank you very much.
Or maybe you are in some cult, who worships around some weird sexual altar. Sorry, really, it's so hard to tell with these posts sometimes.
Either way, I think you need some serious therapy, really.
And who are you voting for?
That's harsh.
If you really want to talk about sacrificing children on the altar (spelled with an "a" not an "e") how about the number 4148 (children sacrificed by the Bush Administration for oil profits), how about 600,000 (Iraqi children sacrificed on the altar of "Who cares, they're only Iraqi's?). Here's a number for you, 799 (sacrificed on the altar of "You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie), and who knows on what altar the victims of 9/11 were sacrificed . . . how about the altar of "We need an excuse to go into Iraq and get their oil? I don't think Hillary and Michelle combined could possible sacrifice as many children as our current president has on his own altar of "I'm the decider" Just sayin'
To be fair, we would have to round up all Obama's old girlfriends and count the abortion scars in their uterus's to get an accurate count. I bet Jeremiah Wrights cult doesn't frown on abortion as much as they hate America and us white devils, so who knows how many abortion sacrements were performed during those twenty years. Obama's deep morality inspired him to vote against requiring medical care to babies born alive from botched abortions. Obama has proven he is the patron Saint of Abortion. But I digress.
A true modern Democrat will seek true independence from God, country and honor.
Marxism is the goal, the ACLU is the weapon, abortion is the high unholy sacrement and Barack Obama is the Messiah! Hail Obama! Hail Obama!
FOOL az
600,000 Iraqi children? (Fact: not even remotely close)
Blood for oil (Fact: not a drop taken)
That's how you know you're a dishonest moonbat.
When you brazenly lie, you lose all credibility.
FACTS Matter (unless your a Democrat sheep).
I'm sure being a good christian you remember that the bible does say "Judge not lest ye be judged" You had better take a step back and let God do the judging. Do you think women just lay around getting pregnant only to abort the child because of inconvenience? I suppose you believe that if a woman is raped she should carry the child to term. Or what about the daughter of a sexual predator, should she carry her father's baby to term? Do you have any clue what we go through during pregnancy? It isn't just a physical change, it is very emotional. If a woman can't deal with the burden during the pregnancy and chooses to abort it is her right and God will judge her not you and the other creepy people who stand outside of clinics with hate and discontent in your hearts. Way to be a christian buddy! By the way how do you Republicans justify the killing of innocent people in an justified war but not a fetus?
What? Why are you even here? and what does that have to do with an election How many abortions have you had? Oh your a male? get out of our bodies and off them.
Carson, you are a nut job, right wing, psycho! You bring nothing to this thread except the worst kind of inflammatory nonsense. What proof do you have of anything you say? Did you actually say that we should round up all of Obama's old girlfriends and count their abortion scars?! Do you think that Dems love abortion, I mean you called it the "abortion sacrement"! What do you think, that we eat babies?! What cult do you belong to? Grow up and shut up!
Honestly...Dude...
Hi Paige,
I simply want to determine which candidate has the most godless gutter morals that qualify them to be the Democrat's nominee.
I'm not in your body Paige - heck, I'm 6'2". If you are just parroting the abortion industry propaganda, I can assure you that it isnt "your body" being killed and flushed down the sink in an abortion, so why are you referring to your body when it is the child who is being killed, not you?
Gotta agree with Carson... it is THE issue that defines the DNC and why I can't vote for them, even though I really like Obama/Biden on the other issues. I just refuse to have my intelligence as a human being continually insulted by the DNC position on abortion, they simply won't make room for me and what I hold dear... rather they throw up Pelosi and NARAL and Planned Parenthood, they finally got Emily's List behind Barack. Every 3rd grader on up knows that human life begins at conception, as confirmed by every medical doctor and scientist. So stop telling me that only a higher power ("higher pay grade") can determine that, and even if that were true, certainly the Supreme Court can't "legislate" that either. There is no point in the spectrum of human life, from conception to natural death, where anybody (Supreme Court or politician) can tell me that life can be taken. Hitler tried that, to a limited (6 million) success. That goes for war and the death penalty too, gotta stop all of it. Life is a gift! Look around you, see your brothers and sisters, see the trees and the flowers and animals.. LIFE! How precious this "animation", a force we have the priveledge to CREATE in the womb, thus we MUST cherish it!!! And not confuse our children by killing it... so innocent, so wonderful!!!
As long as the Dems can't make room for me and continue to promote abortion as a "right", then I can't be a Democrat, which is really unfair to me! We ought to strive for all the "ideals" as a nation, and yes, that means "ideally", no abortions, just adoptions, lots of love and forgiveness for all.
Peace!
Clumsy,
I too was raised a Democrat, but simply could never square this one glaring evil.
Abortion is not just another issue to be overlooked. I can no more accept abortion on demand as a legitimate position than the "choice" to kill Jews was in Naziism or a right to own slaves.
The Democratic party has chosen an extreme position on this fundamental issue, have excluded dissent and have embraced brute judicial corruption of the democratic process to force abortion on demand against states rights and the legislative process. It is a vial and blatant corruption to support an evil of sheer convenience.
It is an evil that is indefensible in reasoned debate, but survives on the brute will of democrat party corruption, with euphemistic slogans to mask the facts and stacking the courts with corrupt judges.
I just wish Barbara Bush had believed in abortion. So many lives could have been spared...
And if you want to talk about morality being returned to the white house, don't elect someone who ran around like a dog on his first wife - then dumped her because she gained weight and was disfigured in a car wreck. (all the while - patiently waiting on him while in captivity.) Cindy was his mistress and as tacky as that is, it is far worse that he called her the horrible "C" word in front on others. Angry, disrespectful womanizer.
I for one am ready for a breath of fresh fidelity in the white house from 2 passionate, brilliant men.
Yeah, I suppose if we are going to talk about "morality" and weight gain in the White House we should include Bill and Hillary Clinton and also Paula and Gennifer and Monica in that discussion.... Infidelity and divorce totally suck, just ask Edward's wife, she is the most recent victim. However both sins in fact are covered by the Ten Commandments, as is abortion. Too bad we simply can't go with those guidelines, we used to but we got soft... since it requires some thinking and proactive self-control and putting others before oneself.
Anyway the issue issue isn't morality. The issue is the Dems making abortion rights a "litmus" test for inclusion, with only the extreme position accepted (including partial birth abortion and no post-birth rights for infants who are victims of failed abortions) . You simply can't be a Dem without embracing this radical pro-death point of view. And the Dem's are inclusive? for everyone? Come on. Abortion "rights" really only serve the rich white folks, to the blacks and poor it is nothing more than genocide. Read Bernard Nathan's book.. the doctor who "invented" out-patient abortion... and how sad he is that he helped create the monster that is Planned Parenthood and NARAL... so many innocent lives lost.
Peace!!
I for one am ready for a breath of fresh fidelity in the white house from 2 passionate, brilliant men.
Fidelity?
McCains fidelity to America was tested for FIVE years being tortured in a POW camp?
Barack Hussein Obama spent TWENTY years as a purely volunteer member of a radical anti-american, anti-white cult listening to his racist anti-american pastor / mentor spew hatred and lies at America and whitey and travel to foreign terrorist enemy nations with Farrakhan whom he honors to visit a terror state dictator. Then Obama befriends notorious terrorist Bill Ayers holding personal fundraisers in Ayers home, giving speeches together.....FACTS Matter. "Community organizer" is just a Euphemism for black radical activist.
Hmmm. let me guess which one has fidelity to America? The torture-tested war hero or the clown whose been swimming in a fishtank of rabid anti-american marxist radicals his whole life.
I cant imagine anyone stupid enough to vote Obama for Presidency. It's surreal that the dems would actually nominate this joker.
Oh yes carson we all know that he spent 5 years in a POW camp. He has gone from being discrete about that to touting it any chance he gets. Everyone thanks John McCain for his service to this country. But that doesn't mean we should humor him by electing him to the highest office just to support 5 more years of bush policies.
And Carson, what did people of color ever do to you. It sounds like to me that the bulk of your rants are tied to racism and fear. Because the only thing that Neo-Cons and the republican party can do to get people to vote for them, is to make them afraid. Republicans and their constituents have done nothing to unite this country, but in fact have done more to divided it, by using religion and fear as a wedge, and patriotism as a bludgeon.
carson and clumsy
hmmm... I've never heard of bill clinton's infidelity - thanks for informing the country of this little known fact. And while you are at it, please bring up all the rePUKElicans involved in his impeachment that enjoyed their little side-dishes as well.
Thanks also for informing me about the 10 commandments. I believe the Bible teaches that no sin is greater than another - so that puts speeding, smoking cigarettes, raping the environment on the same level as abortion and murder.
I am a life-long democrat, MOTHER and church goer. Despite how cozy you feel lumping all progressives as baby killers, I think you need to find some middle ground. Abortion will always happen regardless of what the law books say. Both sides agree that it is a profoundly sad option in an unwanted pregnancy. I for one could never do it. I suggest making abortion being a non-issue. Keep it a legal, safe option (since it will happen regardless) and then fight like hell to be pro-child and give women viable options. Are you on a waiting list to adopt an unwanted minority child?
I, unlike Republicans, am pro-family and pro-child. Once a child gets on this Earth, I believe in making sure he or she has an education, healthcare, positive mentoring (I've been a Big Sister), a clean environment and options for a quality future.
RePUKElicans say they are pro-life, they fight like hell to get an unwanted child born and then abandon them in a broken foster care system with little or no positive choices for a productive future. (of course they will adopt the white babies) Then after a short life of getting the short-end of the stick - the child ends up in a cycle of crime and drug abuse then prison - repeating the cycle. At that point the RePUKElicans are all to eager to end the sad life via lethal injection.
So before patting yourself too much on the back at the entrance to the pearly gates, what are you doing to make the lives here better? Do you volunteer? I'm off to my son's school to help his teacher, then to recycling and then to church. How does that fit into your world view of progressives?
Reality: Both sides agree abortion is a horrible option - it should be rare or not at all. Solution: Be the change you want to see in the world. Spend less time blogging and go sign up to volunteer and help break the cycle of at-risk youth. Anything less is just hot air.
Oh - and while you are studying the 10 commandments looking for indictments for those that disagree with you - skip a few chapters and read about this cool guy named Jesus. He believe in reaching out to the least among us and being a good steward to the Earth. Then go to your conservative friends and let them know He's more than an image on a Cheeto to be auctioned on E-bay. They'll be stunned!
Abortion is a stupid political issue. Women have and always will do as they pretty well please with their bodies. Worked for physicians 12 years in 60's. Abortions have been done for years before it was legal - the doctors called them "D&C's". I personally could not have one done, but I can not possibly govern what another person does. Do we forget you CAN NOT OUTLAW SINNING. Just another silly effort to "control" the population. If abortion is NOT legal - doctors will be doing D&C's again, or some woman will try to do it herself with a coat hanger. What I am saying is the truth.
a good a speech as hillary has ever given, and if she and bill follow it up with consistent support and active campaigning, it will make an Obama victory more likely. It can't substitute for the real Obama stepping out from the splashy image he's made for himself and closing the deal with voters who think right now that McCain is the right guy, even though he has the wrong ideas. Obama, we don't need another hero--but we do need the smartest guy in the room as the next president. It's up to you.

For some. However- REAL CHANGE would have been to shorten the DNCC and to use those millions of taxpayer $$ to helping the people in the US
