    Clintons? Good legacy?
They led ushered in a recession, they let Osama Bin Laden go on several occassions enabling him to attack us, attacks on the USS Cole and our soldiers - with nothing done about it, Clinton embarassed us as a nation in his Monica Lewinsky scandal, Hillary embarassed herself with her right wing conspiracy nonsense - knowing her husband was a serial cheater, travelgate, whitewater, I could go on and on! That is some legacy all right!

Yes, lets talk about legacy. The Republicans have tried to fill as many posts as possible with loyal "yes" men and totally ignoring those people that are more qualified to address our great nations issues. I also cannot believe that after 8 years in office and toward the last year of this administration that you can really put the blame on President Clinton. Also, Bin Laden was trapped in Afghanistan and escaped because we did not have enough troops on the ground and had to rely on paid Muslims who probably let him go. I can also go on and on and on.

I just have to address this nonsense.

There was a balanced budget when Clinton & Gore left office. The USS Cole and the untimely death of our sailors was investigated - by the military and they wanted no help with their investigation from the whitehouse.
Travelgate - whitewater was never proven. This country paid 40M dollars to Ken Starr to dig up dirt on the Clintons. No dirt was found, so don't even bring up Savings/Loans, whitewater, travelgate - there was nothing there.
As far as the Monica debacle. That was a put up job and the only thing Ken Starr and Bob Barr could get on Bill Clinton. Besides - cheating spouses should only answer to their spouse, but because he was President, they lived in a glass house and everything was on the table.

Once again the right wing propaganda Goebbels "big lie" machine raises the same tired crap and offers it as truth. The budget surplus did not lead the nation into recession--there you go again, revising history. Clinton tried to kill bin Laden--but missed. If he had actually tried to capture bin Laden, the Republicans would have raised a stink about "wagging the dog" and being a reckless adventurer. The truth of the matter is that when Clinton left office, the intelligence agencies warned Bush and his neocon warmongers about bin Laden but they ignored it so they could plan their adventure into Iraq--their evangelistic democracy campaign. They acted just like the adventurers and the colonizers of the past: they know what is good for the natives and they will convert them to democracy--no matter how many Iraqis and Americans they kill. Bush could have prevented 9/11 if he had wanted to.

Lewinski--yes, sad and embarrassing--but at least Clinton was doing it to only one American; Bush has been doing the same thing, at least figuratively, to everyone except his business pals. Contrast Clinton's 8 years with Bush's systematic expansion of executive power, secrecy, lies, shredding of Constitutional rights, torture, renditions, Blackwater murderers, destruction of the economy, trashing the environment . . . I could go on and on. And his legacy will be that he is the worst American president ever . . . EVER.

Vote for Obama (because that way we can take over the presidency) Why wasn't Obama there personally? Time will tell how unifying she really was.

Her supporters (those with money), are still being told to sit at the back of the bus (so to speak); and they are not liking it at all.

Her speech was more about HER, than it was about Obama. I did this. I wanted that. I. I. I.

A number of her supporters are leaving after Bill's speech this evening. And others are right.

Obama loses in 2008, so Hillary can run with an improved pitch/message in 2012. Writing is on the wall.

I was always willing to support whichever candidate prevailed. Initially, I was for Hillary, but Obama's 'transcendent' approach to wicked problems won me over, gradually, over time. The brown shirts who marched for Hillary started to freak me out. Anyone who would vote for 'endless war' McCain is a fool, pure and simple. And to do it out of spite is mental illness.

Hillary's speech was great and on point!! I was pleased that she pointed out that's it's about our country, our future, not about her or her supporters egos. I agree... to vote for McCain out of spite is insane and a reflection "it all about you and your ego". If Hillary supporters can still vote for McCain after last night, they really DO need to ask themselves "Is it about Hillary and her issues (which coincides with Obama's or my EGO?"

Some of the comments are good, but the "get real folks" about experience is absurd. If Obama wins he'd still bring more common sense and goodwill to the White House than the Bush-Cheney war mongers. This administration went out of its way to alienate the rest of the world by conducting a pre-emptive strike on false pretenses against Iraq. Now we have the cold war starting again because of the phoney Star Wars missile shield issues. There is no evidence the systems work now, and certainly they'll be defeated with future technologies. Sabre rattling, expanding NATO - all pushed by the generals and defense contractors.

Hillary did a good job, for those that think she didn't say Obama would be a good president your wrong. She said if we don't put in Obama the fate of our Country would be in the balance and the future for the kids would be lost. That doesn't sound like an endorsement of McCain.

For the Experience, you know life experience counts for something too. I mean did Einstein have Experience to write up e=Mc2? Did MLK have experience to change our world? Did Harriot Tubman have years of experince when she saved her first group of slaves? These wonderful people had ideas and good ideas for the future. Ideas are experience, look at McCain he now says he knows how to win a war, why didn't he share that information for the last 8 years???? Why doesn't he tells us how? because he doesn't know.

Obama knows how others in the world think of us, he knows that you unite people from both sides. He knows all freedoms are important including the freedom of Religion, but also that Faith is important too. He knows how to write up good policies, and he knew that the Gas Tax Holiday would of cost us to much and had the guts to do the hard thing and not just run to the side of the polls.

Obama has proved again and again he has what it takes to be just not a President but a darn good one.

The republicans are now saying that Hillary did not address that Obama is ready to lead; however, if Hillary believed that she would not have accepted to be a speaker at the democratic convention. Hillary is a mother and hopefully, someday, a grandmother and is legitimately concerned about where the US stands at this time and it is grim if it continues in the republican administration for another four years.

I have never liked Hillary, and, as a woman, am offended that people feel I am anti-women's rights because I don't. I think we are ready for a woman president...just not Hillary Clinton. She made a good point last night, any of her followers that vote for McCain because she didn't get the nomination were following her for the wrong reasons. If you believe in the Democratic party's side of the issues, you should vote for the Democratic nominee. I am undecided, at this point. But, as a Delawarean, I am proud of Joe Biden...most people in Delaware recognize and appreciate the good he has done for our state and many die hard Republicans have voted for him in his Senate runs. Biden may get the Obama vote from me!

I feel sorry for you! If you can vote for McCain you are sad and always will be...first because Barack will win and second because you want misery over prosperiety. How sad you are...stay that way...the train is leaving the station and we will leave you with all those too sad to get on board.

Did everyone forget what her husband did in the White house????
She needs to step down from public office and get a different job.

I think the Jr. Senator from New York gave the speech of a lifetime. As Oberman from MSNBC
said she hit it out of the park. I hope her 18m supporters will vote the issues not the hart. They
and this country can not survive 4 years of Mcbushhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Clinton is always self aggrandizing as usually. She only cares about her legacy in history, not Obama's candidacy. In short, she is not for the party, she is for herself.

Yes, Hillary did more than her part. It is time for real change and she knows the only way for true change is to not elect McCain. I thought she was on target with all of her comments, and she made very valid points. I have a very difficult time understanding how anyone that supported Hillary would not jump on board with Obama. The election of our President cannot be centered on a person as much as it must be centered on the platform. What will our new administration do to make real and significant impacts on the lives of the American people. The Clinton's are icons in the Democratic party, and they are getting the respect the deserve at this convention, but we must not take our eye off the prize, that prize is to elect Barack Obama. We cannot let a few TV analysts continue to drive the wedge into our party because it causes great drama that is good for ratings!! We simply cannot afford more years of the Republican domestic or foreign agenda. They are killing our great country, and my greatest fear is we are eroding from within.

The answer is simple. Some of us do not LIKE, RESPECT, or FEEL HE IS QUALIFIED. Just exactly the same goes for McCain. We do not have a "Good" candidate to vote FOR. Some of us are NOT sheep, and are not impressed with good speeches - full of empty words. Unfortunately, the main goal of either one running is POWER - just like most politicians.

Clinton did well for her party yesterday. I was proud, and I haven't felt good feelings toward the Hillary campaign since around... New Hampshire, lol.

She was crisp, seemingly sincere, and inspiring. Any "democrat" who wants to support McCain after that, well, the blood is off her hands as far as I'm concerned.

Sure if you want to go line for line, there are things we could've done without. Like the traveling cracked ceiling pants suit kinda stuff. I mean I heard that enough since her speech when she finally dropped out of the race, and I've been hearing about the Hil-brigade in the media ever since. So that part I was over, it could've been better used toward putting out some positives in Obama's direction.

All in All, she did her supporters (hopefully former supporters turned Obama supporters), her family, and her party & country proud!!

There will always be those that become zealots to personality over ideology. Back in 1968, the Reaganites almost revolted on the RNC floor, because they felt Reagan was the better choice over Nixon.
After the convention some actually said they would not vote. But most did vote for Nixon, because the Republican ideology meant more than one personality. In the long run most Clinton backers will unite behind Obama. Anyone who discards Hillary's agenda to vote McCain's antithetical philosophies is voting out of spite, not conscience.

I can understand Clinton supporters being upset... even angry. I can understand wanting to protest by not going to the polls or writing in Clinton's name when they do show up, but I DO NOT understand any educated, left leaning and in particular WOMAN voting for McCain. Will someone please, please, PLEASE explain that logic to me?

She did a great job last night. I was never for her and obama has grown on me and I will vote for him. For those hillary supporters lets face facts. She lost. She did not win the primary and no matter what anyone feels that is not going to change a thing. Its really about what do we want. Do we want mccain who I fear will be worse than bush. Or do we want obama who have very similar policies to Hillary? This is not about personallities this is about our future. My kids do not deserve another 8 years of this garbage that we have recieved. You look at this country we are in a recession, two wars, russia is starting to act like they want the cold war again, gas prices threw the roof, everything pretty much sucks right now. Why this is because of the republican party and George Bush. So if we are going to be petty about who got elected on the dems side I feel those people are not adults. I am not so emotianly attached to any politician that it will cloud my judgment on who I will cast my vote for. It will be for obama and the democrats come nov. Not for the past for my future and my kids. I hope my fellow people will do the same. T
