Which candidate has the best policy for solving America's economic problems?

The meltdown on Wall Street has brought the economy roaring back to the center of the presidential campaign, and the question for the final seven weeks of the general-election campaign is whether Barack Obama or John McCain can convince voters that he is capable of leading the country out of the morass.

The solution is not to go from the top and hope it "trickles" down. People are too greedy at the top to allow that. It's a dream.

When McCain did a direct quote of Herbert Hoover, saying that "the economy is fundamentally sound", he proved his economic credentials.

This crumbling economy is a direct result of central planning through the unconstitutional Federal Reserve which causes the credit expansion through low interest rates. This encourages and enables the malinvestment and encourages people to seek credit rather than save for the items that they want. It also discourages saving because the dollars you save lose value as a result of inflation. The founders did not want a central bank and the Constitution requires gold and silver be tied to the money so that it could not be printed to allow for government abuse, instead we allow the fed an illegal monopoly on the creation of our money not backed by anything and controlled by unelected officials in a semi-private bank structure. The money is counterfeit and neither Obama or McCain understand this, and if they do they are complicit. The Democrats and Republicans are two wings of the same big government, warmongering, socialist, Orwellian debtor party that is sucking the life out of the middle class and immediately bankrupting our elderly. We need to bring them to justice asap and restore our Constitution and monetary system to the only fair system, the Austrian school. Von Mises. This government is out of control and dangerous to the entire world. Vote Libertarian and help us build an opposition party that is telling the truth and talking about real issues.

The reason I choose neither, was because they both are to blame. Since they both come from a congress that refuses to get along unless it's giving themselves a payraise or taking vacation. I blame congress since they are law makers & since they exclude themselves from so many of the problems we face with loopholes to protect their sorry butts. So neither canidate has the answer!

I do believe the biggest problem's is the Dem's,they talk big,but they do nothing, who was in power the last two years, why are gas prices went up ,it was the do nothing.and all they want to do is add ear marks to there bills, the last bill they passed there was 112 ear marks on it.Just like Miss Clinton said
pork barrel or ear Marks is your rights,My opinion is to get rid of the people that will not talk with the other party,it always ends up the same do nothing.
The problem is you put them in there you get them out,you are at fault, because there is one person in each party that the rest will not buck, and he will not talk to the other party,It only takes one person
in each party to mess it all up for the rest, tell you get rid of that person nothing Will change.
Its up to you to get them out,the ones that have been there so long they think they are gods, and they don't wont change,I blame the people that put them there.

So are we going to cut taxes forever? Then we will just have congress doing apprenticeships for lobbying at the taxpayer expense and a defense department and nothing else. Oh, i forgot were almost there. How long will Americans continue to let 5% of our population tell us how to run our economy for their and only their benefit? The constitution does not say pursuit of happiness for 5%. During the early Hoover years of the depression people starved as private and state run relief denied benefits to people because of their moral standards. So the New Deal took relief away from corrupt states and people actually got help. Republicans called it a boondoggle and have destroyed every program modeled on the New Deal because it asks them to do their far share for the country. The poor pay their share with blood on the front lines of war. The real boondoggle is that Republicans and their one issue voter blocks have taken us again to the edge of devastation and now ask us to let them lead us away on the same destroy the New Deal path that got us here in the first place. Profit is the new God of America and all must bow down no matter the cost. Stock dividends are more important than sick Americans. A trillion dollar war and 700 billion bailout for wall street but lower wages, destroyed cities, falling bridges and desperation for everyone else. Trickle down has trickled out, government for and by the people needs to be our war cry and damn profits if profits damn people.

What I don't understand is why the average American person is not looking at their paychecks as the net result of the truth. I can tell you as a middle class person, my tax liablity now vs. 8 years ago is astonishing. We are busy paying for everyone else, and with these bailouts, it'll be even worse. not to mention McCain's bright idea to have those of who actually have employer paid health care plans, to have to pay taxes on those benefits as well. Are they kidding? Why work? Welfare will be a better option than getting 60% of my pay after all this garbage is done. These republicans do not care about you middle income people! Seriously, just look at your paycheck, the cost of groceries. If you work for a living, you have no business being a Republican.

                    Republican lies.....

Oh, there is so many to choose from! Decreasing capital gains tax rates increase revenues...not true…at least, not all the time. Actually, it should be obvious that it couldn't work. If this is so great, then why not eliminate capital gains taxes completely and ka-boom! A huge surge in tax revenues for the US Treasury will result. NOT!

So, from the perspective of tax revenue...there is an ideal maximum rate which should not be exceeded, as it will harm business and be self-defeating as revenues will actually decrease as the tax rate increases. Therefore, tax rates should be set between that maximum revenue generating level and zero. Not surprisingly, politicians find a way to spend every dime...and then some. There is always something they can do that will generate votes. Once you support a certain group of people with a program, whether it is welfare for the poor or welfare for the rich, it's tough to stop. The end result is that we have just about all politicians from every party willing to spend the money...with some minor differences on what they spend it on. The bigger difference is in how they raise the money. Democrats want to tax the rich. Republicans want to borrow from China.

Now...the problem with borrowing from China is that some time, somehow, someone will have to pay them back. The problem with taxing the rich is that republicans all want to be rich, so they don't want to harm their dream. The rich have had some really good times under Bush and company...while the nation has gone into a huge hole of debt. Sooner or later, the party will end. Sooner or later, fiscal responsibility will be forced on the government. McSame wants to make the tax breaks for the rich permanent. Until he sets up a plan to balance the budget...taxes HAVE to be on the table. Claiming that we will grow our way out as proven to be false!!! The claim that current taxes already exceed the generating max has not been shown by anyone. The idea that our corporations are the highest taxed in the world??? With all the tax breaks and loopholes that exist?!? Baloney!

In the end...the same principle applies...taxes should not exceed the maximum generating point or revenues will decrease. If spending still exceeds tax revenues, even in good economic times...like we had in the last few years before the current financial crisis hit...then the politicians are acting irresponsibly. Period. Bush and the republicans never balanced the budget at any point during his reign. Therefore, they failed their duty. Period. Clinton did balance the budget. He succeeded in fulfilling his duty as President…Monica not withstanding.

This is easy. Obama is the only candidate who even recognizes that the economy is in serious trouble. McCain is in total denial.

The conservative agenda is the greatest failure of public policy in American history. de-regulation, free market philosophy, tax cuts for the wealthy. These have all proven to be disatrous to our economy. America is just a few more crises away from becoming a third world economy. The conservative agenda can be summed up in a few simple words : 'transfer all wealth from the middle class to the upper-upper class. leave them nothing.'

Now they want to kill us by denying us health care. I guess that's their solution to overpopulation. McCain calls it 'personal responsibility'. Of course, what he means is that a person who has heart disease is irresponsible (unless, of course, they are extremely wealthy).

Thanks to the conservative agenda, America will soon be owned by COMMUNIST China.

Bush introduced legislation in 2003 to have over-site of Fannie and Freddie, but good old boy Barney Frank and the rest of his cronies would have nothing to do with it. Then in 2005 Allen Greenspan warned that if something wasn't done to reign in Fannie and Freddie we could have a disaster, but again the Dem's would not hear of it, Barney said their is nothing wrong, so what is there to fix. So here we are today, old Barney spitting and sputtering trying to cover for his mistakes.

I was eating at my favorite restaurant the other day, and for people who know what i mean, you have a diner that you like to frequent. The food wasnt the same quality i was used to getting from them. This is a small town. So the down-low is this, with gas prices being what they are, and the cost of food going up, they bought cheaper ingredients , which messed up the quality of food served. Now this is just because of the gas prices. Trucking companies having to charge more to deliver the goods. Mccain is the way to go. We will not see cheaper gas prices anytime soon, i mean really a barrel of oil is less than $100 right now but gas prices have gone up? Giving businesses tax breaks will trickle down, and my favorite diner will be able to afford the ingredients it used before. Really people, if you listened to the debate, BO plans to increase spending, he couldnt say what he would cut if this $700 billion went through, he doesnt plan to cut anything, only increase and line his pockets. Get a clue on the issues people. I made my statement about my small town, just so yall can understand in laymens terms. The market will bounce back, it always does, this whole thing is a scare tactic designed by democrats to get another vote. The democrats want to turn our government from a democracy into socialism. Our Tax System Explained: Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

                                          The fifth would pay $1.

                                          The sixth would pay $3.

                                          The seventh would pay $7.

                                          The eighth would pay $12.

                                          The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.' Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

                                          And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!'

'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too.

It's unfair that he got ten times more than I got' 'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.
