I'm not sure

I would have to hope any problems have been addressed...unless they were not actual problems, but "problems"....

I think we should all agree going into November, with our eyes wide open, that if it happens again, we throw FL the hell out of the Union.

In 2000, the issues in Florida constituted "fraud," plain and simple. As long as that truth is ignored, the "problems" will persist.

Whether the Florida Republican Committee will actually allow for an honest election is almost beside the point at this late a date. They'll do what they've been instruced to do from their bosses at the RNC in Washington. However, yesterday, AGAIN, my 84 year old mother from Palm Beach County, while attending a meeting at her retirement community, was told by a representative of the local Republican Committee that Obama was 'definitely Muslim'. The Republican smear campaign is something to behold. Their lack of ethics is shameful.

McCain was rude and discusting. I realize that he was a war hero - but it has become a broken record. I have a brother that was in Vietnam and was wounded. He doesn't prance around asking for sympathy. The fact that he (McCain) went through what he did is probably why he has anger management problems. He is also too old (sorry) he gets mixed up on boarders and tribe names. He got confused about Spain and Mexico. He couldn't look at Obama because (among other things being smug and arrogant with nothing to back it up) he is too short -- the name Napoleon comes to mind. He would sell his mother if he tought it would make him President (remember at the convention he announced her age - a clear attempt to show longevity). He treats his wife like one of his campaign flunkies and why is she always with him - I think she carries the defibrillator in her purse just in case. It is sad - he is clearly out of touch -- we do not need Rambo in the White House. He brags that he graduated in the bottom 5% of his class - has no law degree. The only thing he has is unsupported arrogance and anger problems. Remember, also, as he spews his clean-up Washington routine that he was part of (although his wife's family money helped to clear him) part of the Keating Savings & Loan situation. Also, his wife has had a few problems with stealing drup scripts - that too was swept under the rug. There is more about her as well if anyone would dig into the LaJolla relationships. This man is scary.

FL has already robbed us of the last 8yrs. and they might do it again? closing polls in blk(demorcratic) hoods, tech issues etc.. is sad for the strongest country in the world. if that happens again in FL this time, We are gonna have to stand up this time as blk ppl and say ENOUGH!!!. with some conviction!! why don't white (republican) poll areas have these problems? For anyone to vote for McCain after the crap we have all gone through over the past 8yrs(9-11,war,katrina,job loss, the economy) with this administration, just proves that race relations have not come as far as we all would would like. Ask yourself, if OBama was a white guy name AL,Goerge or BiLL...would McCain even be this close in the race? Be honest! most Americans have had trouble with that(being honest) lately.

I was living in Miami-Dade/Miami Beach in 2000. Worked to register Democratic voters. Registered to vote months in advance. Went with friends to vote at my local precinct station. The democraphics of my precinct according to the latest census at the time indicated most residents were did not identify themselves as Hispanic. Went to vote. Only Spanish speaking precinct voters. I have conversational skills in Spanish. My name is clearly "Anglo"...Jones. Was told I was not a registered voter. Was not allowed to vote. Went home. Called ACLU to report. ACLU phone lines were overwhelmed with similar calls. In March of 2001, recieved my voter registration card validating my registration. Was crumpled and been folded several times. What a surprise!!!!!

Oh, for Pete's sake people!!!!! Grow up and get a life!!!! The reason they are having problems in polling places, not just in Florida but everywhere, encompases several reasons. First, the states won't spend as much money as is necessary to get all the proper equipment they need. They want to low ball on everything and when you purchase from the lowest bidder regardless of how appropriate the equipment is for your county, you end up with major problems. Some counties and/or states don't want to spend ANYTHING and they are staying with antiquated equipment because it's cheaper. The next, and probably the most pervasive reason elections get screwed up, is that 99% of the poll workers are over 75! Younger people won't work the polls because they have to take a day off from work and employers won't give employees a day off to work at the polls. That just leaves folks who are retired and usually have never been within spitting distance of a computer. They are put into a 14+ hour day and expected to be perfect.
And quit expecting a voting system to make up for you doing something stupid!!!!!! If a ballot requires you to fill in the bubble....FILL IN THE DAMN BUBBLE!!! Don't circle the bubble or check the bubble, or circle the name of the person you want to win or mark out the names of all the people you don't want to win. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!!! Everything you do expects you to follow SOME rules. Why should voting be any different???? And if you haven't bothered to register, why show up at the polls and scream at the workers?!?!?!? Take time to check and see if you are registered BEFORE Election Day. Call your local election's office BEFORE the last day to register. They will be HAPPY to look you up and see if you are on the rolls....and what your registration address is. Remember, if you've moved it's up to you to see that you've changed your voter registration address. They are elections officials....not swami's with crystal balls.
So....all you folks who think something crooked is going at the polling places....put your money where your mouth is and volunteer to be a pollworker on election day!!!! Get off your collective whiny asses and do something real to help out. I've done it and I can tell you, you'll feel differently about things once you've been screamed at, spat at, and cursed out because some idiot voter did something wrong and want's you to make it right. I've discovered that candidates are usually bad but voters are even worse!!!!

Well, I've read through all the comments and I am now sick at my stomach. You people are all NUTS!!!! You have no earthly idea what you are talking about. If you had ANY TEENY TINY idea of what it would take for a party to fix an election you'd shut up.....hundreds of people, thousands of technologies....what are you thinking? So, if Florida has a Republican governor and the Republicans take Florida - that means the governor and the party must have fixed the election? Does that also apply if a Democrat is governor of a state and the Democrats take the election in that state? Did the Democratic party fix THAT election? I never realized what a sick, paranoid and delusional bunch of people you Democrats are. God forbid you get into the White House! I'm an independent and I've always voted for the individual, not the party. But after reading all this, seeing that all you are interested in is winning...not the good of the country, then I'll never in my life vote for a Democrat again. You are all crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I have conversational skills in Spanish. My name is clearly "Anglo"...Jones. Was told I was not a registered voter. Was not allowed to vote. Went home. Called ACLU to report. ACLU phone lines were overwhelmed with similar calls. In March of 2001, following election, received my official voter registration card. validating my registration. Was crumpled and been folded several times. What a surprise!!!!!

If you Dems think Obama will win so easily, WHY are you so worried about one state? If you do your jobs right there will be no problems, RIGHT?

I have been worried about Florida for quite a while. Most of my fears were confirmed yesterday. Watching the Today Show, I became interested when they began talking to Florida's governor. When asked about the number of Hispanic voters who had registered for the first time this year (and were likely to support Obama), he said that registration didn't mean much, especially if they didn't make it to the polls. I probably sound hysterical and silly, but I took that as a veiled threat. Exactly why would these people not show up at the polls? Is he suggesting that they will be kept from the polls? I think back to 2000...those church groups going to vote and being stopped for not having a bus license. It just really scares me to think that voters will not be able to cast their vote. I do have to add something. I live in Tennessee. Some intelligent people have signed a petition that brings the idea that English should be the official language of Tennessee on the ballot (racist propaganda if you ask me)...what if this were to be allowed? could they begin to require that a person has to know English to be allowed to vote? I may be overreacting, but feel that it could be a possibility in the future. these conservatives really scare me.

The Florida voting process is further complicated by the new law passed by our Republican Governor that states voters who come to the polls whose actual current address does not match the address on their driver's license will not be allowed to vote. Who let him get away with that? And who is this designed to benefit - McCain. There ought to be a law...

the democratic party had it right when they wanted to dissallow delegates from florida...the electoral college electors should be dissallowed in the general election...ENOUGH florida.
