I'm not sure

I would have to hope any problems have been addressed...unless they were not actual problems, but "problems"....

I think we should all agree going into November, with our eyes wide open, that if it happens again, we throw FL the hell out of the Union.

The system is not fixed as in repaired. The system may still be fixed as in corrupt. I especially believe this since I have recently found out that the maker of the new Optical Scanner being used here in Palm Beach County is really Diebold operating under a different name. We all remember the Diebold connections to this administration, right? I am extremely uncomfortable and highly cynical. Palm Beach County has not learned its lesson yet and continued poor management is a pervasive problem.

I have lived in 3 different states in my lifetime, including Florida. My conclusion?

Florida is an idiot state with corruption running wild. Couldn't run an honest election if their lives dependent upon it. Corrupt judges, corrupt legislators. I used to love to vote before losing my vote when I moved to Florida.

Ever try to get a driver's license renewed here? Bureaucracy like nothing you've ever seen--I'd almost rather cut my throat.

This state needs to realize that corruption and cronyism and the good old boy network will only take you so far in the modern world. Florida needs more intelligence than simply handing out contract awards to cronies, a la Jeb Bush, who later have to resign in disgrace for handing out contracts illegally themselves. (Ever wonder why Rush Limbaugh never went to jail for his drug crimes here?) No wonder the Bush Crime Family got a foothold in Florida. Hanging chads, blacks turned away in some districts, lost ballots, etc., etc.

      J

What a mess. Living in one of the richest and most technologically advance countries in the world and we can't get something as important as this right?

Maybe we should just go back to paper ballots and ink the thumbs of those that already voted to prevent fraud!

It's time to do away with the electoral system as well. Popular vote is how the prez should be elected.

Voting machine is one half of the problem. We also have a Republican governor which aspired to be the VP. I live in south Florida in a predominately Democrat county, this election could easily be fixed again. The governor took it upon him self to create more road blocks for voters in recent days. All ID must match exactly, right down to the spelling of the name.

I live in Maryland, and I also am an election judge. At the polling place that I work, we've never had any of these problems. We use the voting machines ( the Diebold computerized one) and our votes are counted immediately. Maybe if Florida wasn't Trying to cheat so much, they would use these machines. So, with that thought in mind, the election there, will once again be FIXED. You know, I don't have a bit of faith that McCain, and no knowledge of foreign affairs, the economy, or anything else Palin will be suitable to run this country. Lord, we better pray that if McCain wins, he'll stay alive long enough to at least last 4 years. Obama and Biden, on the other hand, are both lawyers, smart, and take the time to think before they answer questions that will affect our entire country down the road. This is a sad day when someone can become a VP just because they're a mother ( I am too), played basketball, went to 5 different colleges to get one degree, against abortion (there we go again with someone telling us women what we can and can't do with our bodies, and afraid to talk to reporters. Heaven help us all! Democrats, we'd better stick together and do the right thing. OBAMA/BIDEN

Funny how these Dumbocrats and Repukelicans in Miami-Dade/Broward/Palm Beach counties, as well as the rest of Florida, can properly mark their Lotto forms every week, even without speaking English, but aren't smart enough to follow the instructions on how to properly mark their ballots on election day. Hundred of thousands of school children across the country can properly fill in their NCLB test forms and SAT/ACT answer sheets every year, but their parents can't properly make a optical scan ballot.

It is so funny it's scary that it is the Democrats that are already screaming about "Voter Fraud" in key states, like Florida, but then I see LOCAL news stories about hundreds of children (i.e. under 10) on "Public Assistance" and convicts in jail and prisons receiving voter registration forms and absentee ballot requests from the DNC and Obama campaign, that are already filled out except for a signature, complete with stamped return envelopes. One women received ones for each of her three children, ages 1, 5, and 8. Complete with their names and SSN's from a Democratic affiliated, "Get Out the Vote" group affiliated with Obama's PAC. Haven't seem anything about it on the "Main Stream" media, like CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC, or MSNBC. Humm???? Wonder Why???

No such "mailing" have appeared connected to any others???? Makes me ashamed to have ever been a Democrat.

I can give testimony that will leave no doubt as to the fraud committed in this State in 2000 with the help of some Bush operatives in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. My former firm represented Miriam Oliphant, Broward County Supervisor of Elections, and with the help of the Bush controlled media they were able to do a smear campaign against Ms. Oliphant like nothing I have ever seen in my lifetime. People aside of Florida assumed Ms. Oliphant was suspended for the 2000 election, not true, she won her seat as supervisor in that election with 70 percent of the vote-stands to reason it is doubtful that a repub president would have won that county with a dem winning supervisor of elections by such a large percentage of the vote. Gov. Jeb Bush claimed Miriam Oliphant was given assistance to rectify the issues she was accused of having in an election cycle, now mind you, it was a primary election not a general election, anyway the governor assembled this so called assessment team-never done before in the history of Florida-all hand picked by Jeb and Glenda Hood-instead of helping they recommended she be suspended. Strange as it seems we took it to trial, won and she was not given her job back. The Republican controlled Senate refused to acknowledge the governor and his cronies were wrong-GW won Broward by a "large" count in 2004. Strange if you ask me. Now we have Kurt Browing-a Bush cronie that was on the illegal assessment team, serving as Secretary of State-all I can say is get ready for round 2 of what they started in 2000. Kurt Browning committed more than 40 violations of his own as Supervisor of Elections and then they give him the position of Secretary of State-What a joke-research Glenda Hood-that will give you full insight into how this STATE is going to the Republicans!

A bit too late now. Maybe Albania has fair elections and could advise us how to hold a low-budget but fair election. We can't afford not to have fair elections. It's almost all we have left. We cant say we have the best military, otherwise we woudl not "need" Blackwater. We dont have the best health care or education or science or math. We dont have the best housing. We dont have the best economy. The Patriot Act has taken our privacy, Gov. Palin wants to smother our religious views and replace with hers. We torture people. I'm sounding off now, but this email will go into a file on me somewhere, no doubt. What is left???????? What does America stand for?? Oh, we do have some good athletes, assuming they're not doping. Diebold is a major contributor to the Republican party. The Republicans know they can't get elected without Florida's 27 electorial votes. They either outright rig the machines, place too few at poor/minority locations, report 'glitches' at the aforementioned poorer areas or lose data altogether. It is past time for someone to take charge of Florida's voting system and make sure that our votes count. We're willing to let the children of this country go to Iraq to help bring Democracy there but will do so little here to ensure that the citizens of THIS country enjoy the fruits of Democracy. This is a disgrace.

If the electoral weight from a state continuing to experience flaws in its voting systems were sacrificed, there might a higher incentive to improve the quality and standard practices of the companies producing voting machines that were selected for use in that state. Countless American voices are not being heard because of the continual faulty voting machines, the disingenuous policies of the Republican party to thwart voter's rights by producing false statements to citizens who do have the right to vote or who have registered, and it is enough to make anyone lose confidence in our voting system. We all know that 2000 was a stolen election and yet we have made a pitiful leap towards bridging that cavernous gap.

The only way there will be a Florida voting problem is if Obama loses. The the Democrat, hanging chad team will swing into action throwing out the Military votes and counting the minority votes twice along with tripling the convicted Felon votes.

If they are having problems now, what confidence we have that it will be OK for November. I will vote, hopping that they will count my vote for OBAMA.

I am not sure, because they are having problems now, even after 8 years. I will vote, hopping that they will count my vote for OBAMA.

I live in Florida (unfortunately), and I vote in Florida. I have no ides whether my vote will be counted accurately or not. My SOE is a partisan and rejects any efforts at fair voting.

I would predict that Florida will have "problems". And, I'm fairly certain the problems will once again originate in the wealthiest counties of the state. How did those people ever become millionaires when they can't even manage to vote properly at the polls?

If someone is so evil just to win votes without considering well-beings of this country and fellow citizens, we all go to hell together like we are facing now.

After Florida botched the 2002 Presidential election and sent Bush Sr. to get the Supreme Court to anoint his son as President, Florida has no business being part of the USA. Sell them off and use the money to help American working citizens, since our fool of a President would rather spend tax money in the middle east and to bailout billionaire bankers.

I am voting absentee ballot and also taking the 2nd through the 6th off to work the battleground states to make sure the GOP doesn't pull any dirty tricks like in 2000 and 2004.
