I'm in John McCain's generation and he scares me.  He scares me a lot.

My daughter wasn't afraid of McCain at all, in fact, she threw a Batarang at the screen thinking he was the Joker. I have to admit, his performance was lacking cmopared to Heath Ledger, but he did seem to have the grin of a mad man down pat. Too bad his jokes fell flat.

I agree about the "my friends" last night.  I had a debate party at my house and we were all calling each other "my friends", making fun of McCain.

Also, he seemed very tired and shaky.

Reminded me of Oscar the Grouch - all he was missing was the green color and the garbage can.

Do you believe that police protection is a right?  Education?  Driving on public roads?  Do you expect long lines if you require firemen to put out a house fire?

Why's healthcare any different?

I think McCain's idea of having more walk-in clinics would benefits illegal immigrants more than Obama's idea of letting regular citizens buy into the Senate's health insurance plans. You need to fill out a heck of a lot more paperwork with personal information to get a health insurance plan than to go into a walk-in clinic.

Ask yourself this question, if you were out of work, had no health insurance and were very ill would you feel comfortable going to a hospital not knowing if they will treat you or not.  Or are you just that brain dead to think that you could never be out of work and never ill. Although other countries health care systems aren't perfect at least in some European countries and Canada they're able to go to the doctor if they're without insurance and not worry about whether or not they'll be treated.

ooh.   I must've missed something.  I thought the elections we're based on who showed the best leadership in getting the U.S. out of it's current economic crisis, to end the war and get us back where we were.

And let's keep in mind that "leadership" does not mean who's more of a military veteran.  McCain speaks as if he plans on being at war continuously if he gets elected, like all he needs is military experience.

Focus on the topics that matter. (how LONG you'll be waiting for a doctor appointment?) Come on...

Our health care system is broken.  My daughter had leukemia at 14 months of age, she is now 26 and healthy.  She is a senior medical student, going into debt to provide health care to us!  Yet she cannot have/buy health insurance.  Tell me this is right.  We need to fix this system, pre-existing conditions must be covered.  That is what this is about.

McCain was the one who wants to privitize social security and veteran's health care. I find it amusing that he calls any government health care plan "socialized medicine" and worthless, yet it is good enough for us veterans. Funny huh? And with the current financial crisis would have taken out ALL THE FUNDS IN THE SOCIAL SECURITY COFFERS if McCain would have had his way. Out with the PTSD old man thinking and in with the fresh young mind! This by the way coming from a vet with PTSD!

I like the purple koolaid, a fine combination of red and blue. Let's face it here kids, we need a change, most of the knuckleheads in DC need to go. People on the far left and far right all need to get jobs. Evengelicals need to practice what they preach and stay out of politics, seperation of church and state?Anyone? As for tonight, McCain was out right lying his perverbial buttocks off and sickened me with his obvious disgust for his opponent. If the man had any plans that could help get our country on the right track he wouldn't need to resort to the tactics his campaign has used as of late. I am sick of the finger pointing, fear mongering and distraction tactics that have dominated the last 20 years of campaigning.

There are enough immigrants who work very hard and they definetly deserve to be insured. As for those who just come here to enjoy government support without contributing their share...I don't feel they should be given the same treatment. Immigration is such a normaleveryday issue in every country. Who are we to discriminate those who are looking and working for a better future?

I don't support anyone but myself (family) but yes I do think it is the responsibility of the country to protect its people.  Isn't that why we "Declared Independance" in the first place, to protect our own.  Now the question is "Why are the illegals and jihadists here?"  In the last years I have not heard anything (of substance) about sending them back or closing the borders.  We said "Bring US your weak" but I guess that means only if they can support them selves.  And as far as waiting for a doctors apt.  If we would spend our tax dollars bringing down the costs of educating "OUR CHILDERN" instead of obtaining global domination then maybe we would have more doctors to turn to like other "Far Less Fortunate" countries do.

if you think the us taxpayers do not pay for the health care for illegals regardless of where they are from check out californias annual budget for health care for illegals not to mention the untold millions of dollars in prison costs.  all related costs of the horrific gang activity across america is paid for by taxes paid by the american worker.  think. all the shoot outs and stabbings that go to the emergency rooms across america are paid for by the government. these people do not have insurance.  a large portion in parts of the usa are not citizens.

I agree...  I have always liked the Tom I have seen in the past but after the VP debate I have seen a side of him that really turned me off...  It seemed as if he wanted to put a slanted view on Obama...  Maybe when you get on in years, the things you know are the safer and the things you don't are soo foregin and unwelcome...  Change maynot be pretty, wanted, or painless; but at this time, it is definitely whats needed...

I agree with you. There was no connection with McCain and he seems to repeat himself over and over, but just rewords his statements. Think that Barack did a wonderful job in holding the audience of American viewers and important issues. I believe that McCain has too many secrets in his closets that he doesn't want brought to light and Barack isn't afraid to admit what he does.

I agree with that statement as well. He didn't provide ne hardcore evidence how he would help the economy. He did sound like a commercial vs. a candidate in a presidential debate.
