Agree or Disagree: The 'Troopergate' report damages Sarah Palin's reputation

What makes her pitiful though, is her need to say what she WANTS to be true instead of what IS true. Pitiful and Sad and NO credibility.

My question is where is her Mother in all of this?? My Mother would call me up and SHAME me by telling me I was raised better if I were to do/say the things that she has...even as I would with my own child.

I think it is really sad what the media did to a strong, powerful, sincere female in a political position of power.  I've been following Palin for a while before her vice presidency run, and she is a real, down to earth, no non sense politician - the kind that we need.  What happened?  The media got scared to death when millions were energized by her convention speech; They realized that the Republicans may just have their Obama.  The funny thing is that in order to have an Obama, you need a media outlet that worships you like they do him, not tear you apart like they do her.  Think about it.  They have more in common then some would like to admit.  Both crowd pleasers, similar amount of experience... one get worshiped, and the other a subject of criticism and sarcasm, the brunt of a joke, painted as a stupid uptight female that somehow is incapable of governing because she is a Mom.  And wasn’t all about a feminist victory when Hillary was running?…

Such images really effect our society’s perception of the female; the defamation of her character for political reasons is unfortunate, and something that females will have to deal with indirectly for a long time.

OMG you cant be serious, when you say the media doesn't go after Obama.  Check our Fox buddy they have something negative to say about Obama everyday.  And the point is this "Sinister palin" is a liar, un-ethical, and not fit to be vp and definetly not president.  The problem we have now in the US government is that to many of them have used their power in the wrong way.  Electing Palin/Mccain would only add salt to the wound.

Since she was correct in that the VP is the president of the senate I fail to see how she extended the power of the VP.  As such she is in a unique position, as a member albiet normally non-voting of the Senate, of being in two branches of the government.  I would think that you would question Biden's answer of being a yes man to the president as the job discription of the VP.

You raise a good point, but this is not atypical of her.  The "facts" about "Bridge to Nowhere" had been documented for WEEKS and still McCain and Governor "I may be unethical but I'm not wrong" kept repeating them.  I think she probably started off a bit self-aggrandizing, but now, with full media attention, she's become an overt narcissist.

Steve, I agree with you 100 %.  There is no way that any THINKING American could vote for Sarah Palin for ANY office.  The only thing that McCain and Palin want to talk about is her special needs child.  Sarah, there are a bunch of us mothers out here with special needs children, but it doesn't qualify us to be PRESIDENT!!!. 

Bottom line....Sarah Palin isn't smart enough to be Mayor of Wasilla or Governor of Alaaaaaska. Read some of the newspapers published in the cities in Alaska.  They don't support Miss Sarah.  She is a joke and McCain's choice of her for VP is embarrassing for a democracy like outs.

I agree with you completely.  I believe that the republicans are throwing this election on purpose because they know the economy, the war in Iraq, and the energy issues are all messed up so bad that they cannot fix them.  They are throwing this election to blame the democrats for all of this after the fact.  Has anyone else noticed that gas prices have mysteriously dropped right at the end of Bush and Cheney reign even though there has been major hurricanes this summer?

I find Palin's antics horrifying; however, she does have the legal authority to fire anyone in her cabinet for any reason even if she does not like the cologne they are wearing. Her abuse of power derives from her and her husband's pressure they applied to officials for personal gain. It IS an ethics violation (and possibly criminal) to bring forth pressure from a public office to create a hostile or even non-existent working environment upon someone.

What bothers me most about McCain picking Palin is that as soon as she stepped on stage in Ohio to be introduced, MSNBC had on the screen that she was already under investigation. If McCain will not even do the research required to properly vet a person who could one day be president of the United States, then how can I trust him to do research on any issue that we as a country may have to face in the future or uncertain times.

The Speaker of the House is constitutionally in line to become the new VP if the VP becomes the new president.  She could not "make her husband the new VP.  But could you imagine she and Nancy Pelosi as President and Vice President!  Now THAT could be fun to watch but could be more disastrous than a Depression!!

And whether you want to believe it or not there are failings in America.  18 million children without health care.  45 million people total without.  Failing schools.  America should have the best educated children in the world and yet we rate 21st!  In Europe, their kids get their educations paid and they are outcompeting our kids.  Yet, how many of our kids can afford to go to college.  For my son it will cost 10x what it did for me.You bring up Ayers.  That was 40 yrs ago.  I think he has done much in the last 40 yrs, working to improve the educational system, shows that he is not the same person he was 40 years ago.  I know I'm not the same person I was 10 years ago and I know I will not be the same person in 30 yrs that I am today.  And I hope in the next 30 yrs I will be able to have as positive an influence on society as he ha; irregardless to any of the bad decisions I made in my 20's.  If you bothered to read about him you would know that he realized that violence was the wrong way to oppose the Vietnam war.  But, like many Americans of that time, he believed that opposing that war was the right thing to do.  Not opposing a war does not mean opposing or not supporting the troops.  To many people draw that incorrect conclusion.You bring up ACORN.  Fact: Obama's campaign did give money to the Parent company to help with Get Out the Vote during the Primaries but has had no dealings with them since.  Second, you need to get your facts straight here, there is no Voter Fraud until someone trys to actually vote as someone else or vote multiple times.  So even if there were some questionable ballots, at this time there is no illegal activity.  Oh, and by the way, ACORN flagged a lot of those registrations themselves and informed the election board that they thought the registrations were questionable.Perhaps you should take time to look at FACTCHECK.ORG before you make yourself look stupid.

Excellent points, ForAmerica. However, Torminator isn't permitted to look at FACTCHECK.ORG because it's not a Fox Network approved source. All McCain/Palin brainwashees must get approval from Fox before they're permitted to check out sources. Instead, they live in ignorance and paranoia, quote the Bible according to Murdoch, and take unsupportable and (yes, stupid) positions on behalf of all of America. What truly baffles me is how people, "Christian" people (by the way, I am a Christian)can be so quick to attach the "evil" label to things and people as long as it serves their misguided interests and views. So because someone clearly points out the failing of America and does it in an unapologetic and matter of fact manner then he is "evil"? I agree.  How many people in the 60's were arrested for their protest of the war.  We have had CITIZENS protest the Iraqi war, none just to this extent.  We as a country are infuriated by the 4,200 appr. deaths of soldiers in the Iraq war, think of how many we lost in the Vietnam war, and BTW there is still questions over the demise or lack of knowledge of what happened to the POWs there were possibly left there. 

But then those families have been told they have no rights to the records, because of course Senator McCain objects therefore these families are left wondering.  I went to college with a girl who several years before that was in juvenile for drug charges (being with the wrong folks at the wrong time), does the fact that I helped tutor her mean I am a drug dealer?  Should that throw a blemish on my personal record because I chose to give her some help and hopefully make her situation better?

Sorry to say, but you should stay better informed.  McCain wanted Leiberman or any others that he has battled in Washington with, but all his campain advisors said he needed someone to energize the right wing voting base.  Palin would not have been his first choice, but he had to pick her to have a chance politically.  It's politics.
