Absolutely. This shows how Sarah Palin governs. It doesn't matter if its ethical, only if it suits her professional OR personal needs.
What cracked me up was her response. I call it the OJ Simpson defense. You know, the glove doesn't fit, while he's holding up his hand and the glove fits perfectly for anyone with eyes to see. So Palin says the investigation exonerates her, despite the fact that the investigation incriminates her.
Why can't we do the right thing this time and throw her butt in jail where it belongs. And in the meantime, someone ought to tell her that *real*Americans don't ban books.
Well, to be fair, she only asked about the book banning policy... she never banned anything. Although, I bet she had a big ol' list in mind.
This report, for example, is probably something she'd LOVE to ban, huh?
Ok, so we've gotten to the point where we just expect politicians to mislead us and jumble the truth a bit... but she didn't even try to fake us out. She just lied outright. And EVERYONE knows it. That's messed up.
Abuse of Power, dirty work by family members to get around the legal system, etc., none of these should be expected nor tolerated. I do believe if she gets in to office (god forbid) the sky is the limit. She will run over any and everyone to get her way, and I do believe that would be you and I if she had to.
The problem I have is she lies without remorse. There is no facial changes, no dropping of her head to deflect the hint of a lie, she stares right at the TV "and I'm not answering your questions I'm gonna talk straight to the American people (wink, wink) and she lies.
SARAH PALIN IS GUILTY OF ABUSE OF AUTHORITY BY A BIPARTISAN LEGISLATION – 10 REPUBLICANS AND 4 DEMOCRATS - THE VERDICT IS IN- SHE VIOLATED HER POSITION AND SHE LIED AND CONTINUES TO LIE AS IF AMERICA HAS NOT READ AND HEARD THE DECISION TO COVER HER ACTIONS!!!!!
The Networks and the McCain Campaign is lying again by saying this was a Partisan decision by the democrats. Just because you are an at-will(can fire for no reason) employee does not mean you can abuse your authority for personal vendettas. They need to fess up and grow up and take responsibility for their actions. This recent decision can bring further and future charges that could lead to censure and/or impeachment of Governor Palin. She is guilty of Abusing her authority as a trusted Government official and she based her qualifications for Vice President and for being a heartbeat away from the Presidency on her experience. She has lied about the reasons for firing the commissioner on several occasions. She personally defamed his character and libelously attacked his creditability without regard to the effect on him and his family for pure political gain and basically projecting herself as a moral Christian with nothing to hide. She initially said that he went on a trip unauthorized until ABC produced the document that said otherwise. Her constituents were not in agreement with her intimidating and threatening tactics, but carried them out for fear of their jobs. She had her husband run meetings and help in this attack even though he is not authorized and she overstepped her authority. She gave him permission to be her strong arm and he is clearly connected to and was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party created by Joe Vogler who was a radical Anti-American terrorist and she tried to appoint one of the radical terrorist, John Stein, to head City Council but it was rejected by the people. She used intimidation, manipulation and domination to run her position and that is illegal.
She has no creditability. She has no integrity. You cannot believe anything that she says.
It is blatantly clear that she is not qualified for Vice President, or President and now that
this decision has been confirmed and brought out, it is clear she is not even qualified for Governor either. I am also glad that they are looking into her paying herself taxpayer money for daily per diems including weekends to stay at home. The majority of the people I know work in a different city than where they live, however, they do not get per diems. She took thousands of taxpayers dollars. This is not a woman you want elected and she does not represent true Christianity.
Exactly...
She clearly thinks that the American people are inbred and lack any common sense. She also believes that if she repeats a lie often enough and winks her way through she'll eventually be able to get us to believe her. She's a terrible example of Alaskans. They should throw her out -- BUT not into the White House.
Now that's the whale calling the walrus fat.
Pitbull with lipstick was just outed for abuse of power! She lacks the intelligence, humility and experience to hold a national office! She is a joke! Its time for her to return to the tundra of Alaska!
She'll never leave us, you know... she'll probably get a pundit job on Fox News with her spiritual father, Mister Rove.
I see her as more of a Jerry Springer type......
Who would've thought that the unknown, untested, unvetted governor of one of the most sparsely populated states in the Union could ever turn into a huge millstone around John McCain's neck? Besides, y'know, anyone who looked past her cute smile and sexy specs for even a minute or two?
Honestly, I can't see myself as ever being a real full-tilt McCain supporter, but the idea of a McCain presidency didn't really bother me until he picked this adorable nutter as his v.p. Not only do I FEAR the idea of a President Palin, but I think it speaks so ill of McCain that he picked this gal JUST to get elected and not, in any way, to shore up his weak spots (like, maybe someone strong on the economy?).
Remember, like, six weeks ago when half the nation was ga-ga for our Ms. Palin? I'll bet John misses those halycon days...
The time for transparency in national politics is now.
The "troopergate" investigation exposes Crony politics at it's worst, the Governor's personal vendetta and disgraceful State Agency appointees and under handed employees run a shady state government at tax payers expense!
Alaska's - low bar - of state government ethics.
Both Senator Mc Cain's and Gov. Palin's political attributes pale in comparison to Senators Obama and Biden.
Governor Palin's distinct distaste for transparency by employing inexperienced unqualified untrustworthy friends at taxpayer expense to abuse authority of office rises to unethical practices of a state government.
If this the type of leadership we can expect in the Mc Cain presidency, then Senators Obama and Biden have already won this election.
# 375 .........
I'm am so not surprised by this outcome. Sarah Palin looks the part she is. She flat out lied in her public responses concerning the outcome of this investigation and denies doing anything wrong. I bet something else will come out about the Palin family. They seem to have rubbed ALOT of people the wrong way. I wonder if they see the "dark cloud over their heads."
Want more info on the Palin's? Check out this website from Alaska:
P.S. I am adopting the middle name of Hussein until the election as a show of unity against racism, lies, and fearmongering. I urge others to do the same.

A leader who lacks integrity can not be trusted in anything. In addition, the fact that she can incite such anger and fear against a fellow American AND fellow Christian by the way, for her own victory is not someone who can be trusted to tell the truth. A leader who fosters animosity towards people of other religions or races has NO PLACE in any office. That sets us back to the days of the internment of Oriental Americans during World War II, or the days of slavery. Haven't we outgrown that ridiculous dangerous paranoia? Its disgusting that someone running for the 2nd highest office, possibly the highest office can be so ignorant as to perpetrate stereotypes against Muslims or Arabs who by the way, make up a portion of our American citizenship and also have the right to vote AGAINST her.... and they should.
Does anyone else wonder if perhaps she is suffering from postpartum syndrome?
It is a mental health disorder that can strike within the first year of giving birth. She recently gave birth in April. Some of the symptoms are :
severe or rapid mood swings, extreme fatigue, hyperactivity, confusion, incoherent statements, losing touch with reality, hallucinations and/or irrational thoughts, and delusional thinking.
Is it possible that this woman is literally not quite in her right mind?
It would be so sad if that were the case. Especially if neither her running-mate, her family or worst of all her husband notices any difference. Since no one is questioning her actions, I would say she is running on her normal engine.
I agree however that she is not in her right mind.......because she doesn't have one. But even that doesn't matter much because the campaign does not allow her to think or speak for herself anyway.
alaskans are starting to warn us how she really is..im sure we'll find out more in the future about her authorativeness....you betcha we will...
Geez...the color code map shows the whole country is "strongly disagree". If only it was election day. I dare to hope.
palin credibility is now shot, how can palin talk about Obama's credibility when Palin's just went down the tollet. Palin spot on the ticket will drag other republican candidates to lose their congressional, state and other local level seat for this election. I am not surprise that Palin cleared herself from troopergate. Palin feels she is above the law and did nothing wrong.
I am surprise the main stream media has give Palin a pass on the results of troppergate, the media does not mention this subject, only that McCain is now the underdog.
Palin is a joke and McCain destroyed any credibility he might have had when he selected another trophy to be on stage with his second wife.
It didn't really hurt her reputation at all. Her reputation was already awful.
It's sad how over the last 8 years this country we love has just kept splitting farther and farther apart. And now i think we're about as far away from the kind of government the founding fathers fought so hard and long to establish as we could get.
This presidential election has been the most polarizing in my memory. Yet the bright side is that more people are registering to vote in this election than ever before.
We really are at a turning point in this country people. And we've got history to look back on to help us choose. If you're 36 or older, than you've lived through two of the most diverse periods of American history ever. 16 years and two different administrations to compare and help make you're mind up. First, 1992 to 2000, when we got spoiled by 8 years of Clinton prosperity. Times were good, jobs were plentiful, and our hero couldn't keep it in his pants and ruined everything. Next, 2000 to 2008, the "moral majority" rides into town swearing to clean up "Dodge City". 8 years of George Bush and his pal Carl Rove. A time when we were attacked, ON HIS WATCH, and we started two wars that have bankrupted the country. A few got very rich, and the rest of us ( and most of the countries future generations) got our clocks cleaned. You know Bush is the guy in high school that had the car so you had to bring him along on Friday nights. And Carl always had the gas money and the fake ID for the beer. But as soon as you got to the party, you always ditched them.
Like they say, if you can really look in the mirror and say you're better off after 8 years of Bushinomics, then the old bald guy is you're man ( I can say that cause I'm bald too).
Thing is, even though it's the 21st century and we claim to be civilized and the greatest nation on earth (that's a hard one to defend nowadays, and I LOVE MY COUNTRY) and we've got a big problem.
Race, and Gender. The gender barrier will have to wait for another day. And besides ladies, do you really want the bimbo the old guys got as his running mate to be the first woman in the Whitehouse? I'm sorry. You can't be that desperate to win! (speaking of desperate any of The Desperate Housewives would make better choices than Palin, and they're fictional!) I would have voted for Hillary. The key words here being WOULD HAVE.
Then there's Race. That's by far the tougher one of the two. Many of the wounds and scars from our bloodiest war are still not fully healed. Bigotry and hatred formed and festered almost 150 years ago still lives today. 150 years. Sounds like a long time, doesn't it? Yet for some it was still yesterday. For others ... well, they just can't see Obama in that house. No way, No how.
For some they still fear those they don't know or see on a daily basis. They don't know what they're like, what they're values are? All they know is what they see on TV and in the Movies. And they know they're not like them, and since they don't look like them, they probably can't be trusted to run their country. After all it is THEIR COUNTRY.
And for many of the "liberals" and others who publicly endorse Obama In the back of their minds theirs still that slight element of doubt. "Is he the one... if I vote for him is he the one I can trust ". They want to believe, and to vote their beliefs, but will they when it comes time to pull the handle?
So one of the fundamental problems as I see it is that we're no longer Americans. We're White Americans, Asian American's, African Americans, Jewish Americans, Right wing, Left wing, gun toting, gay loving, everything but just plain Americans. The last time we all pulled together was in the 1940's. Does it really take a world war for us to be Americans?
And what does it mean to be an American? I was born here. My parents were born here. Doesn't that make me as native American as the native indian tribes who got her thousands of years ago? How many generations do I have to go back to claim that name? The way I see it, If you're born here, or if you choose to come here and become one, you are an American!
So America, it's the day of reckoning for the final Racial Barrier. And you know, If people were as honest with themselves as they have to be on a job application, then race wouldn't play a part, and Obama would probably win in a landslide. Yet isn't this exactly what we should be doing? Picking the most qualified candidate for the job based on his app., not his race? We are after all the employers!!!!!!!
I really believe that one of the biggest strengths in America is that once we know you, and we see we can trust you, we'll come together behind you. In Obama's case, millions of different backgrounds and races have come together, inspired by a common voice and message of hope and opportunity. Coming from a man who most people never gave a chance in hell of ever being in the position he's in.
SO BEFORE YOU CAST YOUR VOTE ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION... If you didn't know the age or color of the two candidates and had to pick from their resumes and their proposed plans for where to take the country, whom would you pick..............................
BEST POST SO FAR, I agree with you 100%.
Couldn't have said it better!!!! Great insight!!!!!!
OBAMA!
True excellence!!! I must say I have read many of these posts on several different discussion topics. Each one either touches the heart or strikes a nerve. Your comments sir struck a nerve......in my heart. The insight I can tell comes from many years of seeing the triumphs of our country and it's embarrassments. It is true that this election represents a dawning acheivement in our history. Indeed a long way we have come, but it is only the next step. It has made me such a proud American to see that one man from one background taking a journey to stand side by side with another man from a totally different background and journey.........with the purpose of inspiring the hopes and ambition in all Americans for change. And we have heard their voice, we have heard their plan, we have seen their vision-------Now it is truly up to us to put aside our differences as individuals and for once.........finally look past the look of a man to the soul and heart of a man............and trust the vision of the team put together for our country's redemption
Obama/Biden---Let them lead us on the same journey from the road of our past to the future our country was built for.
Bravo!! Great post! If you consider yourself an American this post really gives one food for thought!
Great post and honest....bravo!
I would love for the wicked witch of the north west to be sent back to Alaska! She can melt away with the ice age along with her sea crabs for all I care! I'm sure she'll appreciate all that man has created for her including the dying lakes from her backyard view.
Listen to all you liberals talking about ethics and character and you relected a woman user and abuser named Clinton. He took a BJ in the oval office hallway, then lied about it and sent his PR henchmen to smear Lewinsky as liar, until she produced the dress with the C*M on it. He lied under oath and yet somehow he is excempt when you mention worthy to be President or Vice President. I don't agree one bit with Palin's actions and I certainly don't condone them. I believe she shoudl step down...but you two faced meely mouthed liberals use you sordid and twisted liberalism to excuse away anybody who is a liberal and go on the attack for the slightest thing a conservative does. You see , go ahead and elect Obama and you will have deadlocked government because he will never accept bipartisian efforts. You all hate conservatives so much you are not willign to give anyone of them th ebenefit of the doubt. You bend all the rules then make excuses to pass the buck. Why can't you own up to your own faults. You will send this country to hell in a handbasket and never blink an eye or accept your failures. Republicans are rotten as hell, but atleast their is no illusion there, you get what you see. But liberals they make it up as it goes and whatever suits them or whatever rule you hae to bend to make yourself fit. Pathetic all of you.
I seem to remember Bill Clinton getting kicked out of office..... Is it possible to kick Palin out of office before she even gets in?
Or are we talking about kicking her out of the Governors office?
Wassilla PTA... Watch out!!!!
I don't think it is wise for "liberals" as you refer to them to go down the "unethical conduct" route because it is a lose lose situation based on the points you have brought up. Bill Clintons unethical conduct cannot be compared to Palins and that is a fact. Fact remains though that abuse of office is just that "abuse of office" whether you think it "major" or "minor". I, unlike you, don't think Palin should step down, but I think there should be some sort of consequences for her actions. As far as "liberals hating "conservatives" enough to bend rules to suit their interests, well, "conservatives" are guility of the same. "Conservatives" are not willing to give Obama the benefit of the doubt hence statements like :"go ahead and elect Obama and you will have deadlocked government because he will never accept bipartisian efforts". Likewise, many "liberals" assume McCain will behave similarly. With regard to "you get what you see" with Republicans. Is that really true? Isn't it the Bush/Chenny administration that deliberately and systematically manipulated the situation post 9/11 in order to invade Iraq, a country that had no ties Alqueda at the time? Didn't they make it up as they went? The "pathetic" thing is that you are guilty of the same thing you are accusing others of. By the way, not everyone who expresses an opposing view to yours is worthy of the title "liberal". I am neither of the two and refuse to participate in a system that has resulted in people, such as yourself, using either of the terms as a means to offend or insult others.
Independence,
You are so right and what is more scary about McCain is he already has a reputation for being a "HOT HEAD". We need someone with an even temperament and not someone who is apt to go off and end up having us in a war with someone like Iran.
The TWO most important parts of this story is that:
1. She LIED about it all along... and was "winking" the whole way
2. In the face of the report, she SPUN it into she was somehow innocent, when it was CRYSTAL clear that the report said she was guilty.
Now.. It will be interesting how people use these "facts" in their vote. If they still vote for the ticket, then LIEING and SPINNING are OBVIOUSLY OK with them... It's no wonder the McCain campaign and ESPECIALLY the SURROGATES on BLOGS etc. continues to spin lies.
If you haven't seen the SPEW they throw up on the Blogs, you should click "discuss" on some of the stories.... It is truly DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sara Palin gave us all excitement when she came on the scene, but she turned out to be a vacuous politician who the NeoCons exploited (with her permission) and it was very clear, she failed miserably to promote McCain during the debate as she continues to fail him now, with her per diems, troopergate, Todd Palins involvement in AIP and Gov. work and meetings, those awful interviews and the vanity of fuming over a flawless photograph on Newsweek when America is suffering over their 401Ks. One can go on and on about the skeletons in ALL the candidates running and scream hypocracy until we are sore.
The bottom line is the Palin/McCain team where the ones screaming foul when they have lots to answer for.

It just shows what kind of VP she would be, she is vindictive, not a maverick
