I do try to avoid them but every time Obama goes up in the polls I cheer!

I believe some of the polls, but when a person can get a poll to say something different from the majority, then you question the legitamac

The polls are so biased, we can't believe what they say....who did they call, not me and if the did, I may not have answered the phone.

I don't care about the polls

There is no possible way to get an accurate poll without increasing the sample size.

Clearly worried GOP will tilt it their way again, with leaving out ballots and turning away qualified voters, like what happened in Florida

I personally have never been, "polled," nor do I know anyone who has. I strongly suspect most are deliberately skewed.

I think you can use a poll as a gauge.
If there is a wide gap, you can kind of believe the person is leading.
Short gap or close is tied.

The important thing is to observe the way in which the candidates carry on. Obama is steady and positive; McCain is erratic and negative.

We cannot trust what the polls tell us as so much depends on who and where the polls are taking place. Example, CNN polls generally show a lower number for Obama, as they are biased. And how many others are the same? We do not know.

Had someone call me a few weeks ago and once they found out I am supporting Obama, there "quotas" were suddenly filled up.

That is why we must ignore the poll numbers, the bias, the sleeze and vote, urging all friends, relatives etc to do the same. Our survival is at stake.

The trends are relevant but polls don't win elections, VOTERS do!!!!!

This HISTORIC election is already shattering turnout records - after all, who doesn't want to take part in it?

Vote on your time, not when you have to. Share the occasion with friends or family and celebrate afterward - and bring a camera!!! This is an exciting time.

Your stupid.  Your are just reporting what you hear others say.  The Rep's have wanted to drill in this country...Dem's stopped it.  Dem's went of vacation when you were paying $4.00 at the pump.  Obama has received MORE money from big pharmaceuticals & from ALL the FAILED Wall st. & FReddie & Fannie.  He even had Wyeth try to ban a popular bio-identical hormones made from safe plants.  Obama wants us all strung out.  Palin is a Christian.  Christians are not for the KKK or Neo-Nazis.  Hammas endorsed Obama.  Biden is supported by the Mob.  Biden dodged the draft 5 times, then got a medical doctor to disqualify him for the draft.

                                          R. Crockett ,..... I'm not stupid. Far from it.

And BTW you should have said to me "Dian you're stupid" not "your stupid" -- as in the contraction of "you are" not the possessive

Thanks tho as your insults and abuse demonstrate -- once again -- the type of people who support McCain / Palin -- which sends decent people running to vote Obama so keep up the good work

Palin is not a Christian -- she pretends to be a Christian -- she incites hate and violence and divides our nation -- that is not Chritian behavior -- the most evil of all are those -- like Palin, like the witch hunters of Salem and the torturers of the inquisition  -- those who cloak their evil intentions and actions under a veil of false piety

Finally, DRILL BABY DRILL not only will eradicate the polar bear but only serves BIG OIL and Alaska as we in America have all the oil we need it is an issue with refineries -- we do not have means to refine the oil -- we are already selling suprlus oil to other countries DriLLLED from our lands which is why the dems have the sense to block it

the tax subsidies to big oil are courtesy of your boy Bush and your boy McCain who voted with Bush 90% of the time

dems want to cut or eliminate those tax subsidies to big oil and Obama will do it

Ms. Larkin, you are entitled to your opinion but I don't share it.  I am not wild about Palin, but I don't believe she is the hateful, divisive person you claim she is.  I am also not wild about Obama, I have heard his plan for tax cuts for everyone and feel like he's trying to bribe me.  This country is broke, and I don't believe any of those tax cuts will happen.  As for oil, you are definitely wrong, we import 70% of our oil from foreign countries.  We do have oil HERE that we aren't drilling, why?  Because some people are more worried about polar bears than our economy, our ability to work, etc.  I will never support Dems like Pelosi who do such harmful things as block drilling when we're suffering at the pump.  I don't know about you, but I don't want to keep buying oil from the Saudis or Venezuela.  Finally, did you know that Biden is Catholic and (allegedly) pro-life?  Maybe you shouldn't support him then.

Katiec--I have managed many polling operations for clients, and I would guess that the reason they told you their quota was full after you told them you support Obama is that they were trying to poll undecided voters, or were trying to compare Obama voters with McCain voters and still needed to sample McCain voters.  In every poll, there are initial "screening" questions to weed out people who are not in the group the pollster wishes to sample.  There's nothing diabolical or biased about it, it's just about who they're trying to reach.  A statistical table tells them how many people in a given group need to be sampled in order to be statistically valid within a certain margin (the margin of error).  Sure, it's possible to skew a poll dramatically by manipulating the sample, but at this stage most campaigns don't want bad info--they want to get as accurate a fix on where people are as they possibly can, so that they can adjust their strategies appropriately.

Having said all that, your final point is well taken...no matter what the polls say, we need to get people out to vote.  IF YOU HAVEN'T SIGNED UP TO HELP OUT BEFORE ELECTION DAY, PLEASE GO TO WWW.GOTVFORCHANGE.COM AND ENTER YOUR ZIP CODE TO FIND OUT WHERE YOU CAN GO TO HELP GET OUT THE VOTE FOR OBAMA AND YOUR LOCAL DEMOCRATS.  We can't let the right wing steal another election...THE WORLD BELONGS TO THOSE WHO SHOW UP!!!!!

                                                COMMENTARY: From the Washington Times

The October surprise may turn out to be a seven-year-old interview with in which he strongly suggests that the U.S. Constitution is an impediment to his desire to redistribute the nation's wealth. How does Mr. Obama credibly take the oath of office to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" when he thinks it impedes his socialist agenda?

Is socialism too strong a word? Consider one of its definitions from dictionary.com and tell me it is something other than Mr. Obama's economic philosophy: "A theory or system of social reform which contemplates a complete reconstruction of society, with a more just and equitable distribution of property and labor."

A complete restructuring of society is what Mr. Obama advocated in a 2001 interview on a Chicago public radio station. According to Politico.com, in that interview, Mr. Obama, "reflecting on the Warren Court's successes and failures in helping to usher in civil rights, said, "I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples." He has it backward. The Creator already endowed African-American people with these rights, which is precisely the argument powerfully made by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Any rights that are "vested" in people by other people may be removed by the same or future people. Endowed rights are "unalienable" and what America did was to finally recognize those rights. The distinction is crucial because it also relates to abortion and many other social issues. If a court can take away the right to life, then no endowed right is safe.

Mr. Obama continues with a comment that the "Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of the redistribution of wealth and sort of basic issues of political and economic justice in this society, and to that extent as radical as people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical." Does he mean that for real "justice" to have been achieved, the Warren Court should have taken from the rich and given to the black poor? Mr. Obama never said what would happen once the redistributed money ran out. Perhaps this was not to be a one-time event, but a lifetime of "reparations" for slavery, as some other left-wing black leaders have proposed.

On Bill O'Reilly's Fox show Monday night, former Democratic vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro defended high taxes in New York and Mr. Obama's pledge to raise them nationally, saying, "At least they're not taking it all." It may have been an attempt at humor, but this betrays the Democratic Party's attitude. They have the right to say how much of your hard-earned money you can keep. We should be telling government how much of our money we will allow them to spend. Anyone hoping to make more money and improve their lives will have to work even harder to overcome Mr. Obama's redistribution plans.

Mr. Obama thought the Warren Court should have "broken free" from the constraints placed on the Constitution and the courts by the Founding Fathers. This is remarkable hubris. Mr. Obama said the Constitution mostly "says what the states can't do to you... what the federal government can't do to you, but it doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf." That's because the Constitution is about liberty and protecting citizens from oppressive and invasive government.

This is scary stuff. That it is only now surfacing is another reminder of the poor job the mainstream media have done in vetting Mr. Obama. Barack Obama thinks the Constitution and the country it helped create should be remade in his image. He wants to be a founding father of a different America, one that would bear little resemblance to the country we have known. This is radical in the extreme and Mr. Obama, along with his many acolytes who are itching to get their hands on unchecked political power, are a danger to this nation's survival. Listen to the interview: ().

John McCain stands in the way of a complete liberal coup that would transform America in ways the Founders and most Americans would oppose. Mr. McCain may be dull at times; he may have run an imperfect campaign; he should have spent more time exposing Mr. Obama as a radical socialist instead of worrying what the media would say if he did, but John McCain is a patriot who has proved his love, service and dedication to this country in ways Mr. Obama cannot begin to achieve or appreciate.

Electing Barack Obama president of the United States would be a roll of loaded dice. We will live (and possibly die) to regret it. Republicans have made many mistakes and deserve the punishment they are now getting, but the one charge that cannot be laid at their doorstep is that they wanted to rewrite the Constitution and weaken the country.

Mr. Obama will do that and more. Wake up, America, and stop flirting with this guy because you are flirting with potential disaster.

I have lived 49 years on this planet and I have learned a little about Life. One thing I know, that if I remove responsibility for my own actions and behavior away from my children they will become rotten Kids and later rotten adults and I know many of them today. I came from a very poor Family living in L.A. My Family and I ate beans and rice for years if we were blessed we got chicken on the weekends. My mother was from South America and my father as well. If I wanted a pair a shoes like the other kids had, I got a job because my parents did not make much, so I got a Paper route at  the age of 11 and delivered papers in the rain or shine even on Christmas. I know what hard work is, I have seen my mother and dad do just that. I am now older and have come to the conclusion that if you want to succeed you can in the U S A. But our nation’s greatness is because “if you want too you can”.

Socialism is the reverse. I can sit on my assets and I will get my check anyway removed from motivation to excel and do great works to make more money. Only freedom from Government freedom from taxes will allow us Americans to once again be the best in our world has ever seen. I am an American and proud of it because not only do Americans spread hope in our own nation but to other nations as well. I have seen a little and have learned a lot I will vote McCain and for the freedom of our Nation and the protection of our Constitution, today and in the future. Please Vote McCain

RCrocket:  McCain is not the answer!   Real Christians would not condone the campaign that McCain has run.  Do you think Jesus would vote for McCain?

Jesus was anti-political. He stood against such things as empires, controlling people, state violence and power politics. He saw politics and human governments as inevitably corrupt and set the standard for confronting governmental powers. He taught a new way to govern—one that was spiritually healthy, creative, concerned about the oppressed and the poor and promoted a sense of community. His teachings undermined the establishment and the political status quo, not only of his own time but ours as well.

Jesus advocated love, peace, nonviolence and helping the poor. And he spoke truth to power, uncaring of who he offended, even when all the odds were against it. He constantly inveighed against the rich, the powerful and the exploiters. And his egalitarian treatment of women was so shocking in the patriarchal society of his time that his own male followers could not understand it.  rutherford.org

However they had it in the news that both snoopy and mickey mouse voted for Obama during early elections.

Palin does not lie.  She just amplifies many of the things Obama has said and done.  Like the other day when he said we as Americans are as bad as Nazi's.  At some point we have to think what are his true thoughts.  Everything Palin says about Obama she has a quote coming from his mouth.  Some or many of these statements may be taken out of context, but he has still said them.  Maybe this speaks of his intelectual ability (he is still smarter than me) or is he just tired of trying to always say the right thing and reverts to his true self.

                                                James,

I see more attacks here from Obama backers, but that is probably because there are more.  I try not to attack someone here personally, sometimes that is difficult when their insults get to rabid.

No i have not seen a statement from McCain about what he will do differently than bush for the economy.  However I have yet to see a plan from Obama either.  Obama is in a different position than McCain.  He has the lead easily and for McCain to win he has to try and talk people out of voting for Obama.  Unfortunately he like all before him has decided to use the negative approach and Palin is his pit bull this time.

My problem here is I wanted to vote democratic until they forced someone down our throats who has said so many bad things about us, and even me personally when he refered to rural white people as "those people" in a tone that told all he does not like us and could do without us.

From his statements about "us people" i have to believe he will not try to improve our lives in any way shape or form.

If he does well I may vote for him next time.

I understand what you are saying i do......but honestly had mccain stuck with the issues from the start an looked at this as a very serious political year instead of playing games he would probably be winning now............sarah palin was a pick not because she was the most qualified or she would be the best for the american people....but because mccain felt barack didnt pick hillary then i will pick a woman and that will help me win.....when did mccain loose his sense of political common sense...admit it this is not the same guy from several years ago, mccain use to be a very likable person....or was it all a front and this is the real mccain we see today......no matter what you think of Obama u feel he is experienced or not he has stuck with the issues and has not tried to defame at all the character of sarah or mccain....he loves this country with all his heart and he loves all people and he wants to see eveyone make it his past reflects an honest decent person who loved his mom and his family and shows that this is his motivation.....

When mccain gets on tv and says he knows he and sarah have alot of differences but that makes it more fun shows me mccain is really out of touch with whats going on....maybe all the money he has has blinded him or all the homes he has i dont know....no their is nothing wrong with being rich God bless those who have and have worked hard to get it....but when it (money)blinds your eyes from the needs of the typical working class folks thats not good and a country will not and cannot flourish like that....when Bush leaves office he has nothing to worry about he is paid fir the rest of his life recession will not affect him and his family so what he did to the American public is otrocious....and i cannot trust his right hand man in office i just cant

she lies about her work for BIG OIL

she only lies --  and divides the country and rabble rouses to hatred and violence....

James your stupid too.  Clinton appointed John D. Hake Jr. in 1998 to the Comptroiler of the Currenty & with it "Wanted everyone to have a house."  Hawke a verteran banking industry lawyer would not allow the states to regulate the morgages.

In April 2003 Two Attourney Generals, Roy Cooper of NC, & Tom Miller of Iowa, asked for the power to regulate these mortage companies, due to all the foreclosures in their state.  It got so bad, they had to pass their own state laws to protect the home buyers from these sub-prime mortgages & hidden fees.

Alan Greenspan went to Congress in 2005 & told them we were on a collision course.  The Federal officials brushed aside their concerns.  The OCC & its sister agency, the Office of Thrift Supervision, instead SIDED with the LENDERS.  Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the Supreme Court in April 2007 ruled the OCC had the right to give mortgages out, "It would be duplication of effort  for the states to regulate these mortgages companies.

Senate Bill 190 was voted down by the Controlling Democrats to also stop the Sub-prime mortgages.  They did not see it as a problem.

Soooooooo it was Clinton, Hawke, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, & Obama really did vote on this Senate Bill 190.  I know Obama doen't have much a voting record....but he really did vote "NO", to save us from collapse.

james4obama...people like you are the only reason I'm voting for McCain. I hate both men running for office. I had no vote in the primaries so which ever clown gets in there it's not my fault. What's our choice's a) Vote rookie who's promising everything to everyone or B) vote old man who forgot what he said.

But since you and the many idiots like who are constantly ripping into Palin and Joe the plumber, for no reason, I've decided to vote McCain.  In case you've forgot she and Joe are not running for president. Palin's only job as VP just like old man Biden's is to break that rare tie vote in the senate and replace the president do to emergency or death, nothing else. Hell even you could handle the VP job james4obama. As for Joe he merely ask your man O a simple question when he was in his neighborhood. Your man f's up the answer so you all panic and investigate and criticizeJoe, all for no good reason, simply to take any attention away from your man O's answer. I wish I was there to ask the question.

You like to hear your two candidates criticize their opponents, that'sok, but when they get some thrown right back at them you all cry foul and complain that their opponents are not sticking with the issues and playing politics fair. GROW UP!

This election is the biggest waste of money I've ever seen!

(insert sarcastic chuckle here)   If Joe the plumber was not running for office, please explain to me what the hell is McCain/Palin parading him around the country for? Do they have him pegged for a new Secretary of Piping Affairs spot to build a Pipeline to nowhere? Joe doesn't have to worry about being taxed by Obama for buying his bosses business cause if he doesn't go back to work, he won't have a job to pay for the purchase. Wouldn't that be something if he ended up needing the redistribution of wealth after following McGrumpy and Failin all over the country and becomes a welfare case after getting fired.

I guess he could become Sarah's new hair-dresser. I hear that job pays really well ($11K a pay period).

Obama and Biden don't have to worry about attacking sister Sarah, the old-man-without-a-plan, or the racist plumber spy. They just have to finish the race.

                                                        Washington Times Reports:

Few doubt 's considerable abilities. For many, he represents a final, healing chapter in the nation's long battle for civil rights. And he epitomizes the dreams of many African Americans who identify with him as Catholics did with John F. Kennedy - add to that his confident speeches, his charisma and his charm.

We would urge our readers to step back from the polls and press coverage, and soberly weigh the experiences and stands of Mr.Obama and .

Experience. We do not hold Mr. Obama's lack of national experience against him. Abraham Lincoln was one of America's greatest presidents and yet he never served in the Army or Navy, and he sat for only a single term in the federal legislature. What concerns us is the kind of experience that Mr. Obama has had. Throughout his adult life, he has sat at a law-professor's desk or a committee table. Never has the mantle of responsibility weighed on his shoulders alone. He has never run a city, a business or even a government agency. As Joe Biden reminds us: "The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training."

Mr. Obama has never had the kind of heartbreaking failure that steels leaders. Instead, others have cleared his path, from changing the rules for electing the president of the Harvard Law Review to wiping the names of rivals off the ballot in his first state Senate race. He has always enjoyed the hoist of a friendly press and benefited from rivals reluctant to fault him. Is he ready to lead when people or events turn against him and he alone must decide among a cacophony of advice?

By contrast, Mr. McCain's experience is impressive. In the Navy, he commanded pilots amid the boom of enemy guns and, as a prisoner, suffered five years of torture and trial that would wreck a lesser man. As a leader, he has bucked president and party while reaching out to old enemies, like Vietnam and Sen.Ted Kennedy.

On immigration, campaign-finance, global warming and other issues, we have profoundly disagreed with the Arizona senator. But in his 21 years in the Senate, we have seen a leader emerge who is not guided by the polls but who is informed by his critics. That is a rare and valuable combination of experience in any leader.

Now let's turn to the philosophies of these candidates for the nation's highest and hardest office.

Taxes. Mr. Obama has candidly promised to raise taxes, which can only wound our ailing economy. He says he will increase taxes only for those making more than $250,000 per year. Few have noticed that the $250,000 he cites seems to be gross household income. So two married senior civil servants could be considered rich and taxed accordingly. Or a dry-cleaner married to a school teacher. Or you. And, of course, "soaking the rich" means that we will all get wet. Mr. Obama's Social Security plan calls for higher taxes on everyone making more than $97,000 per year. And, of course, he favors letting the Bush tax cuts expire - raising taxes across the board. Despite Mr. Obama's talk, he considers every one not receiving a handout to be a target for taxation.

                                                        Mr. McCain opposes higher taxes.

Spending. The budget deficit has all but vanished as a political issue. The Republican-led Congress arrested it in the Clinton years and let it out on parole in the Bush years. Now the Democrat-led Congress is outspending the feckless Republicans. Public anger is beginning to build again. Mr. Obama plans nearly $5 trillion in new spending, if you add all his far-flung promises. Five trillion dollars is a pillar of dollars 335,000 miles high. (By contrast, the moon is 247,000 miles away.) Boosting deficit spending will only strangle economic growth, deflate the dollar and put future generations in debt to foreign central banks that are venturesome enough to buy American treasury bills.

Mr. McCain has vowed to cut spending over the next four years - a step in the right direction.

Supreme Court. Court watchers expect the next president to name two nominees to the high court. The judicial philosophy of those appointees will shape America for decades to come. Mr. Obama will almost certainly nominate jurists who will sweep away the laws of elected legislatures and results of popular referenda in order to serve the interests and policy preferences of a rarefied liberal faction. And we know that Mr. McCain will not appoint such judges.

War on terror. American intelligence agents and commandoes have killed or captured more than 5,000 al Qaeda terrorists in 102 countries since the September 11 attacks. The homeland has not been attacked since 2001. Only a vigorous effort can keep terrorists at bay. Mr. Obama has faulted the Bush administration and seems to favor the lawyerly approach of the Clinton years, which led to attacks on our embassies, military bases, warships and finally our skyscrapers. Mr. McCain understands that public safety is one part of the Bush legacy worth keeping.

Iraq. Tellingly, Mr. Obama talks about "ending" the war, not winning it. America has defeated insurgencies before (such as in the Moros) and is prevailing now in Iraq. Yet, Mr. Obama has not retreated from his view that America must withdraw in 16 months, with the advice of his generals. Withdrawal timetables usually increase violence, as the Soviets learned when they announced that they would leave Afghanistan in one year. 1988-89 proved to be among the deadliest 12 months of the Afghan-Soviet war. Withdrawal dates only embolden our enemies and risk American lives. Mr. Obama's timetable in Iraq seems imprudent and dangerous.

Israel and Iran. Mr. Obama says he supports Israel while pledging to meet with Iran "without preconditions." Yet, Iran is a nation that has sworn to "wipe Israel off the map." Iran's vast nuclear program sprawls over 24 sites and consumes tens of thousands of man-hours per year. The progress of its long-range missile program continues to astound intelligence officers. Mr. Obama has offered no serious plan to meet the Iranian threat. Instead, he calls for a renewed commitment to "multilateralism," which is a continuation of a failed Bush policy. Israel is our strongest democratic ally in the Middle East. Israelis and the many American citizens who live among them - as well as approximately 300,000 American soldiers and contractors living within missile range - have real reason to fear that Mr. Obama's inaction could lead to tragedy. That's why the Jewish Press and other pro-Israel publications have endorsed Mr. McCain.

Gun rights. While Mr. Obama said he supports the Second Amendment, the National Rifle Association predicts that he will be "the most anti-gun president in American history." In an April 2008 mailer, Sen. Hillary Clinton said largely the same thing. Mr. Obama supported the D.C. gun ban, which the Supreme Court deemed unconstitutional; he favors increasing federal excise taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent; and, in 1996, he endorsed a complete ban on handguns in Illinois. Mr. McCain supports gun rights.

Union elections. Since the 1947 Taft-Hartley Act, workers have had the right to choose a union by secret ballot. This reduces the potential for intimidation and abuse from employers and organized crime. Mr. Obama supports "card check," which requires that a union be recognized if just over half of the workers in a bargaining unit sign a card publicly supporting unionization. Obviously, a worker's name is visible on that card and those who refuse to sign could be threatened at work or at home. Today, employers and their fellow workers can communicate with employees about unions. Under card check, employers and co-workers may not even know that some are considering a union until a final decision is forced upon them. Card check deprives workers of the right to make an informed decision under democratic principles. Increased unionization will smother the economy, as it has in Europe. Unions, which have suffered decades of declining membership, want it badly and Mr. Obama wants to give it to them. Mr. McCain is opposed.

Abortion. "The first thing I would do as president," Mr. Obama said, "is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," which would sweep away all federal and state restrictions on abortion (including parental consent for minors and the partial-birth abortion ban). It is no wonder that Princeton professor Robert George, a member of the President's Council on Bio-Ethics, concludes that "Barack Obama is the most extreme pro-abortion candidate ever to seek the office of President of the United States." By contrast, Mr. McCain is strongly pro-life.

On balance, Mr. Obama represents a radical break with laws and policies of the past 50 years. Mr. McCain has the experience and judgment to lead America through economic turmoil and to safeguard this nation from terrorists. We heartily endorse Sen. John McCain.

I would think decent republicans are sad, embarressed, disgusted that their party is running the sleeziest campaign in the history of our country.

And now they are trying every dirty trick there is to suppress our votes. This is not a party we want leading our country.

I'm an Obama girl! Once upon a time I am sad to say I was registered Repulican. Then I got smart and moved to Democrat. America is so sick and tired of the sleezy Republican rhetoric and sleezy, filthy campaigning. I see them as desperate, pathetic and untrustworthy. And I am so sick and tired of "Joe the Plumber". He fits perfectly with the McCain, Palin side. First, he isn't a registered plumber, doesn't own or intend to buy a $250,000 plumbing business. (It's worth much less then that) Now the moron hired an attorney and a publicist. I wouldn't be surprised if "Joe the Plumber" wasn't planted there by the Republicans to try and start an controversy. And to the idiots who think that Palin is the best thing that happened to the GOP needs to get their head checked and get on some serious medication. The only thing she appeals to is the far religious right.

You can see the passion in Obama's eyes and his words on how much he wants to get this great country back on the right track. And as far as you McCain supporters, listen to what your candidate is saying. He says he is going to turn the economy around, make American safer, do this and do that. But you never hear him say HOW he is going to do it. Obama says WHAT he is going to do to help fix this horrible mess we are in and he says HOW he will do it.

I could go on and on about this campaign but it still  comes down to most people fear sometlhing new. They fear the unknown. But right now I fear the KNOWN! The disasterous economy, unaffordable health, corrupt CEO's and the list goes on and on.

I know several millionaire plumbers, carpenters and electricians...you are just making an assumption based on nothing.  6 digit incomes aren't that hard to come by-even for plumbers.

maybe you'll get your six figure income when Obama redistributes the wealth and gives you money you didn't earn.

To put it mildly, that ad does invoke negative connotations that play directly into the public's fear of terrorism...very GWBish circa 2004

But I have to say I'm also pretty miffed at Obama for some of the garbage he's allowed to air. I'm going to go through some withdrawl when this election ends but I'm happy it's almost over because I can't take all this negative energy!

Right now I am praying that the polls are wrong and that McCain will win the election. The hatred Democrats have for a Republican candidate is scary to me. John McCain is NOT George Bush and has a mind of his own. Anyway, George Bush is not totally responsible for the mess our country is in right now. There are plenty of people to blame.

Clinton took multiple, and accepted military actions, all due to no threat to us but they condoned them and never ask why.

Big difference between us and them is if one of ours does something wrong we get them out of office as soon as possible if one of theirs does the same thing they'll vote him back in for another term. No questions asked.

Heaven help us if Barak Hussein Oboma wins. Joe the plumber is not running for office. Heaven help us all if anything that is being done to Joe the plumber happens anyone of us who ask a question that exposes ones true intentions. Voting out of ignorance is a real tragedy. Just because someone "sounds good" and say things that "sound good", behaves "presidential", is "cool as a cucumber" graduated from Harvard, sponsored "101 bills" that have yet to be voted on, who still maintains that a unrepitent bomber is only a professor, has nothing to do with his campaign, does not work for his campaig, is no guarantee that he is unaware of who this unrepitent bomber is. Anytime a candidate is not forth coming with truthful answers is someone who is intentionally avoiding answering questions. We know about Bill & Hillary, we know about Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, but do we really know all there is to know about Oboma. Well one thing is for sure, the real Oboma will show himself after he is elected. Hope we are not to late in our judgement thinking that he is better at fooling us than we are at allowing ourselves to be fooled by him. Scary times are ahead if he becomes president. Hillary and Bill can't save us now. They tried to warn us, but as always, we ignored the words Oboma spoke and the signs and his associations revealed to us. In the final analysis, people will accept anything by anyone when they believe that the worst being offered as an alternative is the best they can get at a time such as this. Back-to-back disappointments is what you get. The woulda, shoulda, coulda is to late once the vote is cast.

james4oboma, I am not concerned with which "top official" backs which candidate because it  only means that some top officials (not all) back a particular candidate. It neither proves or disapproves which candidate is the better choice.

Sooooooooooooooo, no one is using scare taticts but those who use them and those who believe in them. It is easier to accept "I don't believe that " than to accept what is truth because the truth seems so unbelievable, especially in this day and age could that ever happen here in America. I would rather sound like Miss Sarah Palin than sound like someone who is uninformed. I believe that an informed person is better equiped to make better choices than one who is not. I never accept what anyone says as fact. I believe in searching all avenues available before a decision is made. Have made some bad ones because I did not do my part, but on the ones that I put in the time and effort to come to my own conclusion I was very satisfied with my choice and the outcome. One thing I know is that anyone at anytime can change on a dime. It does not mean that I was wrong, it just means to me that time, circumstances, money and power change people. It takes a very strong person to rise above self-gratification and resist temptations which at times are hard to resist. Our graveyards is full of people who had good intentions. My only regret is that in my humble opinion, there is not a better choice  for me when I cast my vote Nov. 4th for a person who I believe will do what is right for our country and the American people. Politicians basically say the same thing, make the same promises only they wrap them in a different package tape over them with a different phrase or wording. We all want change so much but at what cost?  The America I love and believe in today may not be the same America in 4 years if we do not select the right person for office, and that James4oboma is veryscary to me. While we can choose to disagree, thanks for responding to my comment.

It is funny to me how everyone wants to blame one person or oneparty  for the state of our economy. Greed got us where we are today. All the regulations in the world will not stop Americans from geting what they want. We will stretch numbers, lie about income, you name it.

Let's see how this snowballed... Back in the 90's Clinton signed a bill that loosened regulations on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac . Now the problem did not really start there because like I said we will stop at nothing to get what we want. This new bill just made it easier. The thought behind it was make owning a home more affordable to more people. So now people start looking at making more money by buying homes, fliping them, or renting them. Again you can't beat greed. Everything is going great, everyone wants to live like Hollywood, so we buy more homes to make more money, so we live even bigger.

Equity Equity Equity..... What we really should call it is a personal ATM in our homes.

At some point the house of cards is going to crash. Why does this shock everyone? The crash come by the Free Trade Agreement that Clinton signed. Now jobs are going overseas at a rate that is criminal. Layoffs will follow: No Job.. No Money For Bills! But we still want to life in the style we have grown accustomed to.

Why are we looking to the government, or blaming the government for our choices? My President, Congressman, or Mayor did not tell me to live beyond my means. I must have missed that rally.

Now how this affects are election boils down to this.... Mr. Obama would solve this problem by raising taxes, you get less money, and it is redistributed to people that need it more. Mr. MacCain would solve the problem by leaving taxes as they are, allowing people to redistribute their own money, and pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps.

There'a lot more blame to go around. And this country will be in even more of a mess with Obama as President~ Lord help us all! America~ wake up!! This man is not God or a Savior sent to save America! He's a human being in expensive suits that has many writers for the smooth speeches he gives AND has less that no experience to run this country. America is looking to Obama as this is the 2nd coming of Christ. Try reading the book of Revelation people; we are in serious trouble here and prayer is needed now more than ever in this countty.

Crockett, really I'm not trying to be facetious, but we aren't exactly keeping the peace these days.  We're in 2 wars where innocent people are dying, along with the guilty.  We're in an election where both sides have said some pretty wicked smearing things.  I don't believe God takes sides, and I too am right to have my beliefs as well, just as you do.  I've just always been taught that pollyanna attitude that God loves everyone, and that all lives are sacred.  I'm just not sure who we are to pick and choose who has a sacred life or not.  We do have a lot of choices to make in our lives.  I've always gravitated more to the Prince of Peace, helping my fellow man doctrine..  I have no idea when the end of days is coming, I haven't been privy to that information.  I would hate to be so hateful as to proclaim an innocent man as the anti-Christ.  Those are some pretty heavy allegations.  Have a little faith.  The sky may not be falling this time.  The prince of peace wouldn't likely blast anybody away.  I'm sorry you feel that way.

The Bible says man cannot live without Hope in His heart. But Hope only comes from an intimate relationship with Ones creator. I realize this is a political blog but this Hope that everyone is looking for, neither of the two guys running for office has to give.

Hope is a commodity that Obama does not have to give. Hope is only found in Christ. I admit it is a useful tool of manipulation that he wheels with finesse. But he is deceived as well as the buyer of His Goods. The Blind lead the blind and both are falling into the ditch. If you are looking for true Hope don’t go looking for it in a candidate but look for it In Him Jesus Christ

Speaking of people who cloak their evil intents -- Mr. Obama seems to keep close company with a lot of these people - should we wonder whether he is hiding something too? Or are you like most Obama fans and you dismiss these people?  God doesn't want us to judge, but he doesn't want us to be stupid either (that's Biblical - I didn't interview him personally).

Your continuous ranting about Palin being Satan -- it really takes away from any credibility that you have - as an Obama supporter, you should want to portray some intelligence or you'll never pull anyone to your side.  Finally, you might want to be careful trying to interpret God's love of others in your posts - perhaps try to emulate it?

But again....that is what is wrong with this world today; things like murdering innocent children and the like seem to be the norm. Very sad indeed.

Your words ring true too and yes, we do know who (HE) is in control of every aspect of things happening in this country and others as well. This could be God's will indeed so maybe we as a nation turn back to Him instead of putting all our trust in human beings who promise us everything under the sun? I only want to know the God who promised His Son and let the rest play out as it does.

After all, God giving his only son to die for each and every one of us has ensured your eternal life.

I don't get why people have to impose their moral beliefs on the rest of society. Your beliefs are yours and mine are mine. If BO wants to protect late term abortions, isn't he the one that will be judged for his sins? After all, he is a PUBLIC SERVENT, elected to protect the rights of everyone--not just yours.

Stop worrying about other people and live your life the way you feel God wants you to live. The rest will be taken care of in due time.

Now Dems can cry foul to anything. Republicans would always accept the election out come win, and celebrate, or lose and look for the next time.

And will be that way from now on due to Rather.

They should not be allowed to be made public in any form at least one month prior to the election.

Where in my comment did I say that graduating from Harvard was a bad thing? Where in my comment did I say that he would turn into a Taliban administrator? Clearly, you are the one who is delusional, other wise why would you make a comment like that if you did not already have those thoughts yourself. You need a psychatrist for thinking you know anything about Oboma that you really don't know because you have not taken the time to find out who he really is. There are plenty of resources for you to check into to verify the Oboma you do not know.

Where in any of these posts have you made a rational point? Do you have a link? A source? Suggesting that I should look around, there are plenty of sources. Doesn't prove anything. The act of you saying something does not make it true.

You admit that among other things that, yes, Barack Obama has sponsored bills. Yes, he graduated from Harvard. Yes, he was a constitutional law professor. Yes, he has served as a Senator. These are accomplishments. They are positive things that evidence the ability, intelligence, experience and character necessary to be president. In response you attempt to bring up the Ayers link to put a shroud of mystery over Obama. Suggesting that this negates his accomplishments. You do this despite the fact that this accusation has been widely discredited:

"There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now "palling around," or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are."

I am voting for Barack Obama on Tuesday because he has repeatedly shown the character and judgment necessary to be president. He has made his appeal and has laid out his plan for America. I agree with him. I am voting for him because he has a plan to provide tax relief that will work for the middle class, health care reform that will better America, foreign policy that will make us stronger in the world and safer at home, economic policy that create jobs and grow our country, and so forth.

I am happy to have a political discussion with you regarding any of the above. Political discourse is healthy and I am happy to back up any of the policies that I believe in - and I will do so with non-partisan studies, factual evidence, articles and more.  I will give you a 47-year biography that defines the Barack Obama that I do know, and that is a man that I will be proud to have sworn in as my president on January 20th.

To come on here and suggest that Obama supporter are "delusional" because the real Obama is about to show himself or because I don't know who he actually is borders on lunacy. Those are not arguments. They are "tin foil hat" opinions. Give me proof, give me facts, give me a reason to change my mind, a reason to chose differently. Spewing hate and slander does nothing improve the political discourse in our country.

This is not a game, this is real life. Barack Obama and John McCain will both do what they think is best for the country if they win the election. They have both decided to serve their country and they are both patriots. It is our decision to make the choice which of them will better lead our country for the forthcoming four years. John McCain has made his choice to not deliver on the "honorable campaign" that he promised us, and to resort to the politics of fear.

And I have made my choice.

What do we really know about him? He says a lot of things that are proven not true, he's said things and changed his view 180 degrees. How are we to know who the "Real McCain" is? Which McCain will become President?

On death penalty we wont them to suffer a long time in the prisons they filled with pot smokers and war protesters.  The people who put fake polls out as news are accomplices and if McCain steals this election we will have to send millions to Washington to demand he step down.  McCain is a keating 5 money grabbing, adulterous, war profittering pig who probably snorted coke with GW back in the day.  Lying Neo-Con polls suck and are criminal.
