We need the rest of the world more than they need us. We have to live with them all. The hate for the world from the right is not good.

We have such poor relations with the world now. I can't imagine how the world would view us if McCain won the election!

Pandering to Europe is not the way to run the United States. Would you let others tell you how to raise your family?

Yep we owe them big money Trillions to many of them we don't want them to stop lending.  THEN WE WILL BE SCREWED for real.  Broke penny less we need to stop spending Hundreds of billions for a war to nowhere.

Of course it matters what the rest of the world thinks.

Anyone thinking any differently is just DUMB! (Just can't grasp the facts of life!!!)

            We are:-

            • Customers: Much of the things we consume we buy from the rest of the world. People who sell us things can either simply exploit us, or they can seek to create reciprocal relationships with us for mutual benefit (win win) to both parties. People who hate us don't believe we can act in good faith. So we both lose.
            • Merchants: As a nation we cannot remain wealthy if we do not export our products to the rest of the world. So it's a question of customer relations. Much of our present economic woes result from the fact that the rest of the world no longer HAVE to buy much of our production from us, since the rest of the world has caught up with and are producing our goods more cheaply than we are very often. We need customer loyalty, even national loyalty, for American products.
            • Hosts: Most citizens don't realize because it's not taught that tourism is a multi-billion dollar industry in the USA. If the rest of the world stopped coming to America our economy would go into a further recession. Of course as hosts there is also that matter of imported terrorism.
            • Guests: to the rest of the world! As guests of the world whenever we travel abroad, American citizens are always at the mercy of foreign governments and their policies. Strained relations breed all kinds of abuses both at the local and the official level. History is replete with examples of abuse of foreign citizens turning into military matter.

Without these relationships our standard of living would drop back to the fifties for the bulk of the population. Our national security would also be imperilled based on any one of these relationships. It scares me to even think that there are SO MANY people out there who just don't get this!

The US needs the world and the world needs the US.  Its important to be part of a global union and not some arrogant imperialistic power.  Arrogance has no part in government, society, and thought.  We should be set the example and be humble in the eyes of each other...be kind and giving towards one another.  This is a basic human right, and we owe it to everybody here and the rest of the world.  THe past 8 years has been horrible--Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, Iraq and Afghanistan....lets change it and but your biases aside and work as Americans.  All you Christian evangelicals out there who just want the world for yourself....well, you cant have it. You MUST share it with MUSLIMS, Jews, gays, straights, etc....so get used to living along side others peacefully, instead of declaring war everywhere you step foot on.
