Try something new. It can't hurt a system that's worked through even worse for over 200 years.

You have it exactly right! If Obama wins it just proves how degraded and immoral this country has become. His stance on policies such as abortion and homosexual marriage are proof that he has no idea what God wants. He cannot honestly call himself a Christian when he promotes these things and is a member of a church that preaches black-liberation theology and is okay with the preacher ranting and cursing from the pulpit.

Do you know anything about scriptures.  Old testament, vs. New Testament.  God's will in heaven as it is on Earth.  God our father gave us laws either to obey or disobey.  He gives us a choice to be obedient, and choose what is right and wrong.  You can't not be mad at Obama for voting Liberal on some issues.  Obama, believes that is a choice a person has to make about abortions, and homosexuality.  The same as God would.  Obama like God is not for abortion, and homosexualiy, but  both believe that a person should know the scriptures and keep God's word in your heart to beable to choose what is right.  Only can can judge the Just, and the unjust.  He without sin cast the first !stone!

Why is it that people like americangal burry their noses in the old testament, yet completely ignore the new.

to Larry Headington -- "Obama has vision, and he has character, and he also has compasion for others" ... WHAT? I am going to say it again ... this man made over $4 million dollars on his book where he talks about his family, including his auntie ... yeah, the one that lives in the slums and in poverty and is here, shall we say, as undocumented person. He cares so much about you and the "middle class" that he couldn't even help his own flesh and blood and you think he cares about you? WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON? Historical day it is all right. The day our beloved America starts on the road to socialism. The change that Obama is talking about is the change you'll have left in your pocket when he gets done with all of us ... you dems and you repubs voting vor Obama are looking for handouts and you think you'll get something for nothing. Remember the $600 we all received (well, those that pay taxes, anyway) from this horrible Mr. Bush? Remember when he lowered our taxes? Remember that? Well, when the dems let those tax cuts expire, because Mrs. Pelossi simply won't allow them to continue, YOUR TAXES ARE AUTOMATICALLY GOING UP! Did you think of that? And Obama tells you that he will not increase your taxes? I wonder how that works ... he'll have nothing to say about it once they expire ...

I think it's sad when, instead of arguing issues, we are discussing the fact that someone is white vs. black. Race has nothing to do with whether or not someone would make a good President, just as having blue eyes or brown eyes has nothing to do with it. Eve, years ago YOU would not have been allowed to vote simply because you are a woman (presumably, based on your name). I would think that you would be more tolerant and understanding because of that. It's a shame you aren't. Women fought hard to give other women the right to vote and certainly you are entitled to vote for whomever you feel is best qualified. But skin color should not be part of that qualification, just as gender should not ever have been a qualifying factor in someone's right to vote.

Instead, you should have researched each candidate's position on the issues and made an intelligent, informed choice.

Sam Cooke is playin all day in my household and we are gathering our thoughts and thanking God for this blessing thats about to make history: for those who dont know Sam Cooke sings one of the most inspiring song Change is going to come...............!

its been to hard liven my granny use to say all the time that song brought tears to her eyes but its been along time coming and i know change is going to come... Now i know even more clearly what she meant and what has happen during her times being beat, spit on, treated like trash, friends raped, hit with trees, harrassed by the police, klan memebers challenge their existance.........

The Death of Dr. Martin Luther King & Malcom X and alot of our civil rights movement leaders and people who paved the way for Obama to stand in front of millions and get this close to becoming...........

Its been along time people and Change Is Going To Come: if you are jobless its coming, if your struggling with your car payment, mortgage, bills, feeding your family..... its on the way! Its not what we do when Obama is elected it is how we continue to improve and work harder to keep existance and create more leaders like Obama in America!

Change: Hope: Unity: Faith: Leadership: Composure: Together: Team: Believer: Provider: Opportunity: are more than enough qualities that describes Obama and the effect he has on this generation and where we are headed into the future!

John McCain will win. This country cannot afford to have a socialist in at this time we cannot afford BO. He has no sense of the economy. All he has done is play class warfare to get votes. Remember you can only tax those that create wealth so much. At some point those that will be getting the handouts will still be left holding the bag and the only winner in that scenario is the politician that orchestrated the division between the classes. All those that voted for BO will get what you deserve if he wins.

Terry: "Socialist" "no sense of the economy" I suppose you believe infomercials too!  What do you think social security is?  Perhaps you have forgotten that Sarah Palin boasted in the vice presidential debate of her "SPREADING THE WEALTH" to every man, woman and child in Alaska!  I call that HYPOCRACY!  Get out an economics book, his economic plan is excellent and Joe the so called plumber is a loser of an idiot who is a dead beat dad on top of it.  The expertise and words of General Colin Powell far outweigh the ignorant remarks of those like yourself.  The only people creating class warfare and division are the McCain/Palin campaign and GOP syndicates who have seriously selfish beliefs that they try to thrust down the throats of others.  Barack Obama ACCEPTS and appreciates EVERYONE, even those of the likes of you and your mean spirits and negative attitudes.

Hey Anyone but Obama, NEWS FLASH: McCain was buddies with the same "terrorists" and even donated more money to them than Obama...McCain was present at all of these meetings.   Do your research!  The 95% percent McCain considers "welfare recipients" IS THE MIDDLE CLASS!   I refuse to vote for anyone who has ethics violations (Keating 5 and abuse of power) to the two highest seats in the nation.  General Colin Powell's expertise and articulate opinion far outweigh the ignorance and words of those like yourself.

Sigh.  There is a socialist candidate on the ticket, if you want to elect one.

Palin wants to "share the wealth", McCain on Larry King when asked if he really thought Obama was a socialist?  "No".

Your own candidates don't support your views, just Joe the Plumber.  Well, Palin probably does, even though she was quoted "sharing the wealth" as well....but that kind of socialism is ok.

I am sorry to inform you but I will stay and fight for this country. I am not going to leave the greatest country in the world because we might elect an inexpirienced blow hard.

Here is a little information on how I will be affected. I am an owner of a small business in Detroit. We have had a Democrat for govoner who raised taxes and took our already bad situation and created a single state depression all by herself!

According to BO my small business which employs 65 people will have a corporate tax of 49.3 up from 38 percent. We will be laying off approx. 10 people and will all but eliminate our health care coverage. I will do everything in my power to keep the doors open. Unfortunately 10 more people who are excellent workers will be on the street. Bo can take care of them.

If you think I am rich. I make $80,000 a year and I should get a tax break under BO but I care for my workers who have been with me for 15 years or more.

I will still be fine but those that need the most help will be out on the street.

Terry with Obama's plan you should get a tax break and keep those 10 employees. If you are laying them off it must have something to do with what Bush has done with our country in the last 8 years? Or if you think McCain is going to win and then you will need to lay them off? Have you not listen to what the Obama campaign has been saying or just the lies that have been spewed by "Joe the Plumber" and the McCain/Palin campaigning?

You can’t base what the governor in your state did, to what Obama will do if he is president. And why do you think your taxes will go up, under Obama??(see below) Your company would get a tax break under Obama.

Provide tax relief for small businesses and startups:

Obama and Biden will eliminate all capital gains taxes on startup and small businesses to encourage innovation and job creation.

Do you think it’s fair to continue giving tax credits to the most wealthy in this country?? Those people make billions and McCain want’s to give them even more billions.

Mike: My individual tax break will be in the area of $1,000. The increase in my corporate tax will be $22,000. I need to update my machinery and buy new equipment to keep the company going.

I don't think my $1,000 will do much to keep my employees.

Sarah Palin " spread-ed the wealth" by reimbursing the Alaskan citizens money they had paid in because there was a true surplus. Taxes that they had already paid in. ( Palin taxed the oil companies higher amounts instead of the citizens ) and Social Security is paid for by people who work  and pay taxes in the form of payroll taxes and by the companies that employ those workers - and thereby reimbursed. ( At least until it runs out because Clinton borrowed from it and never paid it back ) - But, anyway - that's not welfare either. Corporations pay Capital gains taxes on profits and you may pay capital gains taxes on the sale of your stock ( if you made a profit ) - but, if that is when you retire your income tax is in a lower tax bracket because of your age - But, not your employer- he is not retiring.  Even unemployment is not " sharing the wealth " - You and your employers pays this tax as well.  All of these programs are paid for by people who work. People who work.

                                          Ern,

Think about what you just said! Now, can you see how ignorant that statement was? We are already in TWO wars!! We are already going after the idiot Bin-o-boy-ladin in Afghanistan, or did you not know that?? So, what you are saying is it’s better to be in TWO wars than ONE?? McCain being a POW does not make him a Military leader.

Cindy - your Dad joined the armed forces because he believes in fighting for injustice and for yours and my freedom.  I want my family to come home soon too, but I want them to come home knowing that they did all they could do for people who could not stand up for themselves and knowing that they made the people who died in the 911 attacks death not be in vain.  I want our heroes to come home with their heads held high.  So long as we are a free Nation - we will have to defend that.  And since we only have the men and women who join our armed forces for our sake and for our children's future then I applaud them and thank them and openly pray for their safety.

Kim,   i know what i said.......trying not to write a book.....i know there are 2 wars going on..............my point was quite simple.........Obama says he will pull our troops out. But in the same breath he states he will go after Bin-bin if others don't..........he basically made the statement he will invade any country he needs to, to get him.  Yet the man spoke against Russia's little invasion.  if anyone is ignorant here, it's those who think Obama has military experience. All you people see is dollar signs.........Obama's war won't be any cheaper, just more dangerous.

Cindy, I want our men and women to come back from Irak, too ... we want them to come home as victors ... please understand that. Obama may "end" the war in Irak but he has another agenda ... he wants those troops somewhere else ... This way it is something that he finally thought of, rather than inherited ... So unfortunately, Cindy, your dad may leave Irak and go directly to that other place ... can we say Afganistan?

My husband is over in Afghanistan right now (has been since Feb.), and I have three children.  That being said, I want my husband to come back home, and to never have left to begin with, but not at the cost of the operation their unit has currently undertaken.  If they were just to pull them out now, it has will make the sacrifices the members of his unit have made pointless.  They fought for what they believed in, give them the respect they (and this country) deserves and finish the job, whether it be Afghanistan or Iraq we're talking about.

Obviously you have been guided by the far right that leads with fear. "Fear is the path to the dark side; fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering." It is time to begin drawing the "sides" together. I hope the next four years with an Obama administration will help you understand the old way of governing by fear is gone and we can come together to make a better nation and a better world.

Change what!???? No Obama supporter can give me and answer!  He ont change nothing but your paycheck......no it wont be bigger it will be smaller and he already said he will not sign back Bush's tax cuts, so you will be paying what we paid under the Clinton Administration...MORE!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is brainwashed by him and the media is doing a really good job at doing that to these people.  I hope he gets in and he wont do a thing and I will just sit back and "I told ya so"

The fact that Obama isn't Muslim makes your post a little less credible.  Another point that is never mentioned is that tax cuts serve absolutlely no benefit when you run a large deficit. Sure, individuals have more money in their pockets initially but everything they buy is much more expensive due to inflation.

We just happen to have been in a war since 9/11. Bush had to clean up a mess with Clinton years, then was faced with a democratic congress that didn't care for what people wanted the past few years. I am not sending my husband to Iraq with no money for support then go into war with Africa and Pakistan that both Obama said on TV that all of military heard and watched. Adding higher taxes right now will ruin our middle class. Especially if he does what Clinton did and made military pay higher taxes. When someone fumbles over and over about what "income" range this past week will not be taxed. I am sorry American's that shows what he will do with the presidential seat. We just hope that McCain sticks to his word on America First! He better be this Maverick he claims to be! He sure did get our vote!

On Monday, McCain gave a final airing to unsupported statements and half-baked truths at rallies such as one in Tampa, Fla., where he said:

_"My friends, if I'm elected president, I won't spend nearly a trillion dollars more of your money. Sen. Obama will."

THE FACTS: McCain's health care plan alone is estimated to cost $1.3 trillion over 10 years by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, which also estimates that McCain's tax cuts and spending programs would drive up the national debt by $5 trillion in a decade.

_"We're not going spend $750 billion of your money just bailing out the Wall Street banker and broker who got us into this mess. Sen. Obama will. I'm going to make sure we take care of the working people who were devastated by the excesses of Wall Street and Washington."

THE FACTS: McCain supported the financial bailout, even suspending his campaign to work for passage of the failed $700 billion version that was geared even less toward families than the version that passed — also with his vote. Obama backed the bailout, too. Both added more relief for families in their own platforms.

_"We're going stop sending $700 billion to buy oil from countries that don't like us very much."

THE FACTS: A wildly inflated figure that McCain kept using after it was refuted.

_Palin told two tall tales almost in the same breath in her final rallies. In Jefferson City, Mo., she declared about Obama: "He voted 94 times for higher taxes, even on hardworking, middle-class Americans making just $42,000 a year."

THE FACTS: This highly misleading if not fictional count includes times when Obama voted to cut taxes for the middle class — that's cut, not raise — while increasing them on the rich. An analysis by found that 23 of the votes were for measures that would have produced no tax increase at all, seven were for measures that would have lowered taxes for many, 11 would have increased taxes on only those making more than $1 million a year. Her count also includes repetitive votes for the same measure.

Palin's claim that Obama voted for higher taxes on workers making as little as $42,000 is also off the mark. Obama voted for a nonbinding budget resolution that assumed certain Bush tax cuts would expire on schedule. Translated into tax law, that could mean $15 more in taxes for an individual making $42,000, says FactCheck.org. But there has been no move to put such higher rates into law. In any event, Obama proposes tax cuts for most people earning less than $200,000 and no increases for those taxpayers.  news.yahoo.com

                                                                Wild Rabbit,

well apparently you have not been listening to Obama's campaign since he has from the very beginning informed everyone what he is going to do if he becomes President and it has stayed the same. I still am very worried if McCain/Palin comes into office as they have been so busy tearing Obama down that they have failed to tell me what McCain is planning to do for us except the same thing bush has.  And how do I know that because I have listen to his speeches and have not heard him tell me what he will do so (besides trash talking Obama) apparently it is isn't anything  new from what Bush has done for the last 8 years.

These blowhard operatives on this blog know they have lost too. They are here writing these republican lies to no avail because no one is changing their vote today. President Obama!! Nice ring to it huh?
