Not just the message, but that he proved it could and would be done through his speech, his actions, his campaign.
HATE is a powerful thing. I am so glad that we are finally progressing as a country to see beyond racial, ethnic, and religious barriers and make conscientious choices about the leaders of our country.
There are many out there, such as above posters, who cannot grasp the reality of what happened yesterday. This is far greater than the election of an African-American president. This a shift into the future, a cry from the millions of Americans who want CHANGE in Washington, who refuse to be represented by dishonesty, bigotry, ignorance, and fear. McCain and Palin lost because they ran a dispicable and dishonest race that ignited the hate that exists in it's ugliest form through prejudice. Their campaign sought to instill fear and terror into the psyche of the American people, it exploited the Arab American community and Muslim American communities that have so very peacefully existed along with millions of other immigrant minorities in the United States and very little was said on their behalf. It exploited women in such a deragotory and demeaning way, especially mothers. It did little to unite a country that has been devastated by poor leadership, dirty politics, a crumbling economy, and ignorant and ethnocentric foreign policy.
It's time for change and thank God I am not the only one that thought so.
The hate is still there...just not on the side you think it was. At least now African-Americans can no longer complain that this a white racist country. Which should put racists like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan out of buisness.
The hate IS still there- it's not going anywhere. But for now, I will revel in the crybaby whiners of America- who couldn't steal this one, because the adults finally came out to play and supervise.
As I predicted, we have the racists blaming it on the black vote, and the Limbaugh dittoheads blaming that ever present myth of the "liberal media" for their misfortunes. For those of you neo-cons who think the media gave Obama a break, I urge you to review the history of this election for the last 2 years and look at the dirt Barack Obama had to shovel out of to get here.
The so-called "party of personal responsibility" can't even accept responsibility for their own miserable failure. Not just last night, but the last 8 nightmarish years. Blame the media. Blame the liberals. Blame the democrats. Hey, why don't you just blame America too, while you're at it.
This election wasn't close. The haters have been told to sit down and shut up, but looking at the crowd at McCain's concession speech, you would think you were seeing the "master race" all over again. A real eye opener.
I'll take Mc Cain's friends over Oscumma's any day. As far as the master race-----where have you been--- with your head in the sand as all good Bummacrats have? Look at a few old newsreels of Hitler in Germany before the Anchloss--the Oscumiacs had the same light in their eyes. No doubt they think they're the master race while they pick the pockets of the working stiff for their freeloading supporters.
Maybe if we truly wanted a change in Washington, we should have thrown them all out. Every single one. Get new ideas, start over. Oh wait!!!! McCain, Hillary, Biden and Obama would all be out. They are Washington. How about one- term limitations-- period, across the board. How many of those " change" supporters currently in Washington would support that? One and done, I say!
MBrown49 -- Your post just proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that "the hate IS still there" and not on the side you implied... Maybe you are the one who needs to "sit down and shut up".
Lucy and "Flies the Flag",
Thanks for continuing to demonstrate the mental illness that IS neo-conservatism.
Flies the Flag: Am I supposed to concur from your name, that you are some sort of patriot or something? Can you even name 3 of the 5 inaliable rights granted to you by the Constitution? I bet if I asked you that in person, you would be fumbling around as much as McCain does. Memo to you: you didn't just lose last night, you got blown out. You're the one who needs to take a seat.
Lucy: You have a loud mouth, but you say very little. The only Hitleresque scene I saw last night were all the blond hair/blue eyed sore losers at the McCain concession speech. I actually felt bad for McCain, with all those degenerates booing and making him look bad. Even he had to tell them to knock it off. Never seen a bigger group of self-serving individuals in my life. Country First- my ----.
Also, the fact that you resort to names like "Oscumma's" and "Bummacrats" only serves to diminish your argument further. It demonstrates that you are so angry that you can't even think straight- then you write embarrassing jibberish and resort to these childish names.
As I said, it's time for the adults to take over, after we get rid of the Worst President in U.S. History. Then it's time for you to stand down while we get under the hood and repair your damage.
Both of you are childish. Obama has yet to prove himself. He has not earned my trust yet. You disrespected Pres. Bush but calling him the worst president in history. He earned the title of the 43rd president and should be regarded with the respect due that position. Are you forgetting Nixon and the Watergate scandal? Bush may have made choices we didn't like but he walked into problems that were there from years ago.
My God does anyone not have morals any more. First of all if all the people out there that say they believe in God would have voted for God then Obama would have not been elected African American or not. How can we vote for a man that kills babies...Also for all of those that think this historyin the making you are naive. We just dated ourselves by 50 years. When you vote for a man because of the color of his skin and not the issues then you are racist either way so all of those that hit the polls and voted because Obama has the same skin color you are as racist as the KKK. I pray for this country and all those out there that dont know that Obama is not the saviour.... Jesus Christ is...he is the only one that can change this world...
Thank you SO much - I can't tell you how much I appriciate not feeling alone. Many Chrisitains are saddened today because they forget that God is in control. Obama is on the extreme far left and Americans voted him in because they hated Bush - not because they took the time to examine him or the impact of his proposed policies. But when our freedoms and morals are threated by his agenda I think that it just may bring a revival on our country - and I pray that it brings us back to our knees which is where this country began.
Amen! I agree! All I heard last night was what a historic making event, then he started backpeddling about two minutes into his acceptance speech that he may not be able to get all his promises he made a possibility! Imagine that! His supporters are irresponsible, careless people that he has enabled to continue to be even more irresponsible and lazy! He says he is against abortion but pro-choice!!???? Isn't that an oxy-moron?? He worked very hard to brainwash the weak into believing that he can change the world. If I told everyone that I was going to make every U.S. citizen a millionaire would I get elected president? I guess I didn't have the same crystal ball everyone else that voted for him did. Just because he said he can create change doesn't mean it will happen. Sept 11, 2001 created change. Change is only beneficial if it is positive. How do we know if the changes he has over-promised will actually happen? Under promise and over deliver is a more reasonable approach. He is way out there along with the rest of his followers. He is a supporter of killing babies. Not good change. Our country is in more trouble now than ever! Jesus is the ONLY one who can make changes. Obama is not God.
I think he got the vote due to the favorable advertising he got for free from the media. He has already started back pedaling on his "change platform" -"it's going to take a while for change maybe not even during the next four years can we see change". So now we have a guy sitting in the presidential seat that can't even follow through on his promises one day after the election. But what the heck he couldn't produce a birth certificate either so what can you expect.
On a bright note - heard a business owner on the radio this morning who said with a Democratic Congress and Democratic President taxes for businesses will go up and anticipating those costs he walked the parking lot yesterday at his business and noted the Obama stickers, he then looked at those employees job evaluations over the past years, he also listened to conversations between employees for regarding the election. So when the taxes rise and he has to make choices between not providing a 401K match for his employees, or not contributing to their health care costs, or providing paid vacation time for employees he decided it was better to just lay off the Obama supporters as their President will provide for them and he will provide for the workers that understand that increases in taxes hurt the businesses they work for and ultimately their jobs.
Yep..what's that old saying..."Becareful what you wish for, you might get it". Obamabidenlama supporters have made their beds, and now they will sleep them. All we can hope is that we survive the next 4 years.
I just hope my children and grandchildren don't end up paying for it.
Where Obamabidenlama might take us, there may not be a country for our children and grandchildren to pay for.
Well with a Democratic House and Senate and the Executive office also held by a Democrat there are no excuses.
I pray all goes well, but I aslo pray that I don't end up distributing all my hard earned money to some lazy lowlife as a hand out, becasue he was not as ambitious as I was to support him self or herslef and their family. I have worked hard all my life to be able to pay for my sons college, it hasn't been easy but I saved over the $250,000 over a 47 year life time. I hope I don't have to redistribute my wealth.
There are actually people who are born in this country who NEVER EVER get a chance to succeed in life. Yeah, this is true. It has nothing to do with laziness or no ambition at all. ONCE AGAIN THE TRUTH ABOUT WELFARE IS THIS: THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO GET ON WELFARE GET OFF WELFARE WITHIN 6 TO 12 MONTHS!
You belong to a community. It is sweet to help others. And it seems to suggest this in your precious bible.
JCLKB you betcha your kids are going to pay for it unless you have say a 2 trillion dollars to pay for the tab run up by bush. And Ray i wll need some of your $250000 too that will help put a dent in the money we owe China and Russia. Where do you think we get a trillion dollars from. Scott you survived the last 8 years so by now you should be a pro .
I hope this guy knows its against the law to lay someone off due to their political views! Did someone get this guys name? I sure hope so. I hope his employees heard him say it, and when they get laid off, they can sue him for everything he has, which will cost him a H*ll of a lot more than Obamas tax plan!
Republicans just don't think before they speak!
Bet he was just blowing steam. I too have a company, and as my ability to pay becomes less, I will lay off. I too have an employee who told me to my face that it was only fair that she gets more of what I have because that is what the NEW Obamites ( yep what she called herself) were pledging. That the more I make, the more she should get. Mind you, she has a schedule created around her school schedule. Gets a check exactly the same time each week, but doesn't always make it to work on time or actually get her job done, but none the less gets paid. I volunteered to let her take some of my liabilties, some of the bills, some of the loans and by all means some of the stress of having to make payroll. Here is how I equated it to her since she is a college student. Don't remember exactly where I got this analogy, but it fits. She actually has a 4.0 and is on scholarships for scholastics as well as need. I asked her how she would feel about giving two points off her GPA to someone who didn't make the grades she did or giving up her scholarships. She whined about working so hard and studying and that NO ONE gave her the grades, she earned them, and then the light bulb went on. Enough said.
I too will be getting rid of 1 of every 4 employees and will be doing it based on their support of obama. I already know who they will be and I don't really care if they suspect my reasoning or not. Of course the official reason for firing them will be because of financial concerns, which is the honest truth. But since I have to make a decision and I will have to let some people go, the ONLY fair way to do it is by trying to give some people exactly what they wanted and a very real lesson in the reality of life so they can make better choices when they vote next time. They wanted "change" and they knew that that "change" would come at the cost of increased taxes on corporations and an increased financial burden on employers, but they wanted it anyway, now time to get it. Not a single person that employees people and has to make the decision of who to let go and who to keep is going to get rid of an employee that wants to keep the business strong to ba able to continue to provide them with a job over a person that wanted to provide handouts to dead-beats at the cost of the company that provides them with a job.
There are only two possible outcomes. First, obama will fail to keep his promise, which is by far the most likely since it really is impossible for him to do any of the things he said he would do. On the other hand, he can raise those takes on corporations and let the blood letting begin and sit there and wonder why raising takes on the wealthy actaully left the wealthy paying fewer taxes than before so now the tax burden on the middle-class has to be increased to take up the slack.
Keep asking this question: If it was time for "change" why did so many congressional and senatorial incumbent representatives (using the word loosely) win? Why return to Washington those who have made the laws, passed the bills, etc.? Can all of America just say one big "DUHHH."
Someone funded a big bunch up to a billion for Barack O. and he essentially bought the election. So who's running him and going to ask for favors? I do not believe the $15 contribution adds up to a billion and I really want to see a breakdown of all the private contributions. If he is sooooo wonderful and has nothing to hide why can't I find this info? Can anyone help me with this hunt?
You can probably bet it's member of Al Qaeda, or Hamas, or the Taliban, who know. But whoever it is, you can bet it won't be good for America.
I betcha 2 trillion dollars thy did not
HAHAHA

Listen people! One of Obama's biggest supporters happens to be one of the richest...does anyone remember Oprah? Give it a rest!
Oprah is the devil... That explains it!!
Obama + Oprah = 00 for America...
The working classes constitute the largest group of wage earners in this country, and are the most heavily taxed, be it income or various sales taxes which only a few benefit from. Dollar for dollar they should get the same breaks the rich get, while the rich should be contributing more---they'll still be rich, but won't appear quite as greedy. To be rich, you have to be getting your dollars from a source--it's the working class with high prices and low wages. I would not fault the the American people if they set about removing the rich and powerful from government. Isn't this what happened to the British Crown and the Tory's in 1776- THINK ABOUT IT!!!
You are stupid. Who pays the taxes for the rich? The middle class? You need to relearn economics. You raise the taxes on the rich, they just pass it along to the middle class in everything they consume. You are just kidding yourself.
I guess I have to post this yet again.... here, in laymans terms you f-ing tards.
Our Tax System Explained: Bar Stool Economics
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do.
The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.' Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.
But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'
They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.
So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.
'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!'
'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too.
It's unfair that he got ten times more than I got' 'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'
'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.
No, not stupid; just saying what the rest of you are afraid to say for fear of punishment.
Omnicron77,
Hey idiot (notice I chose not to use the same totally derogatory term you used in your post), why don't you post an original thought instead of spewing other's thoughts and making them your own. Oh, wait, I forgot. You're a repub and by definition do not have a thought of your own. Sorry, completely forgot myself for a minute there!
You guys are just too funny!!!
Not that this is worth my time... I have posted many thoughts, mostly original and all objective and true. You want to know the responses from all, and I mean all Obama supporters... ahem.... Barock the vote!, Change and Hope!, Charisma!...to name a few, I am sure you know the rest. Would you like to know the responses I got when I asked if those people knew what Obamas stances on the issues were? Didn't get any, just more Obama campaign-isms. How those choices, taxation, union re-energization, etc, etc., would effect our economy, country, jobs, quality of goods, services, education and lifestyle? They didn't know that either. You should go back and review television, radio and article interviews with the masses of Obama-ers. They were clueless as to any of the issues and where he and his party stood. Obviously duped by marketing and salesmanship not the product. That is so reflective of today's society. No one researches products anymore, they just buy what was advertised best, what celebrity is using the product, what everyone else is buying. So who are the idiots? I can tell you it is far from me lady. I put myself through USC, then a MBA program. Then I worked hard, paid off student loans, eventually started a company, then two. Now I employ hundreds of people of all race, class, colors and creeds. I pride myself on people over profits (I have private companies), great benefit programs, college funds for employee's children. So I have done a great part and enhanced if not given many people a life, a really good one...but I ask them to work hard, work smart. What do you do? What are your original thoughts on Obamas stances? What are your interpretation of consequences? Wait, let ME guess. Obamamama? YES WE DID? Sorry, I forgot who you are too....but I am sure my money won't forget to find it's way to you.
Omnicron77. I am with you.
Thank-you.
77 days till he takes office. 78 days till we live to regret it. 1537 days till we can start fixing everything he screws up.
AMEN!!! All we can do now is sit back, observe and prepare.
Today is November 5th 2008 NOT December 21st 2000. If you care at all about this country, please try to be a part of the solution and not the problem. God bless you!!
D Cruz: AMEN!
jclkb - I agree whole heartedly with the exception that your comment is eight years too late. We finally get to start working on fixing the complete failure that the last eight years has been.
JCLKB, Why don't you get off your butt, do something constructive and contribute... It is real easy to snipe from the sidelines, why don't you get in the game.
If you do not like what has happened, start prepping for the 2010 mid-terms and 2012 presidential. Do something positive rather than snipe.... you might be suprised.... Oh yea, I was a registered Republican for 30 yrs... left the party 4 years ago....
Give the man a chance, you don't like it in 4, vote 'em out...
That's right, this guy is going to screw America up. I hope you speak Arabic? He is a sharp guy but his associations are destructive. Moral issues mean nothing to him, he could be the most unAmerican person ever to be president.
Hope you speak sourpuss rednecxk, Jason......
Newsflash: The American public has spoken....and they are NOT SPEAKING YOUR LANGUAGE.....so either you change or get left behind....
Because the "Arab" you are speaking of....is MR. President, NOW.....
Told you so......haha
Finally we have a President with the potential to unify and move our country forward and all I hear is a bunch of whining and crying. What is wrong with sitting down with someone and discussing why you agree/disagree with them ? Is it too much to ask our President to be an intelligent person ? We tried the dummy pres and look where that took us. Thank God I am in the majority of ppl who want and NEED a president to look out for the common man. As our country moves forward into the 21 century I believe it to be a good thing for our President to be a 21 century thinker. No more war vets from the Korean/Vietnam era. Thank God they served but our country has since moved on. No more old school politicians from a bygone era. McCain is hopefully the last dinosaur from that period. The Bible says pray for our leaders. This man needs all the prayers he can get. Our economy is in tatters, we are still fighting two wars, the dollar has lost over 60% of its purchasing power and that's not the worst forecast. America has the potential to GREAT again. What will you tell your children and grandchildren ? Were you with history or did you go down in flames like your candidate ?
jclkb: You honestly make me sick! It will take us a LONG time to clean up the mess the Republican's made. America spoke last night and most of us plan on coming together to help Obama move forward. Those of you who can't wait to start ripping him apart, are not real Americans. That much I am sure of!
Actually if you look at it..it was the mess the Democrats made. The first 6 years of Bush's presidency we had economic prosperity, the last 2 years with a Democrat control Senate and House, the economy went from great to the worse. Yet you still want to blame Bush for the Democrats mistakes. And in 4 fours when Obamabidenlama has made things worse, you will still blame Bush.
During the next four years Obamabidenlama will do a good enough job ripping himself apart when he doesn't live up to his promises that people like yourself bought, hook, line and sinker. All we TRUE Americans can do, for now, is sit back, observe and prepare.
Actually you are incorrect as most blind ,Dem, Obama lovers are. Republicans and Bush had to clean up the Dem/Clinton mess, still feeling the effects today. It was also the Dems in power that majorly contributed to the state we are in today. Get your facts right and understand politics and government positions, processes and power before you speak. You are blind to what Obamas stances will do to this country...that much I am sure of!
You are kidding me right? What mess did Clinton create? Oh yeah a record budget surplus, a country that felt good about itself and a strong economy. The Dems were in power over the past eight years? Really? They had Congress for two years with a President who fought them every step of the way. That is a fact. Get your facts straight before you embarass yourself again.
maybe it was (insert democratic president from any time in the past) who caused all the problems we have now. how about some republican accountability already?
Clinton left Bush with a surplus! Bush started a war that was unjust, which has cost us both lives and huge amounts of money! Republicans held the White House for the last 8 years. Republican's held congress for 14 of the last 16 years and this mess is the Democrat's fault? I think the people of this country just spoke LOUD and CLEAR as to who's fault this economic mess is. You Scott, and you Omnicron are either SORE LOSERS, or just losers. Probably a mixture of the two. Hey, you don't like it here in the UNITED States, there's always Russia, you can see it from Sarah Palin's house.
Well said!!!
I am more american then you will ever be. The only thing making you sick is your ignorance. You voted for a guy who has no track record. Can't fix the problems in his own state and has done nothing but run his mouth. In four years you will be voting to replace his sorry butt as all the other Obama voters.
jclkb wrote: I am more american then you will ever be.
Really? Being a little judgemental aren't we? Just how do you rank being American?
I think you will be very surprised at the state of our country in four years and the popularity of our new president...
Actually Jeff - I think it will be YOU who will be surprised at the state of the country in four years and the unpopularity of YOUR president.
You're right DicFlash...I guess while he was being "serviced," and dealing with the ramifications of his actions, he did a great job protecting our nation. 9/11 was neat. He was also a charismatic guy.
I think its all good for America and the whole world. I felt great last night when I saw the results, of course I doubted my self, nevertheless, reality spoke and now here we are starting a new journey holding hand in hand and please don’t let go the other hand. Together we will win but divided we might fail. I am confident that we the people will work hard individually and get to our specific goal, however, for our government to function adequately, it requires our full support in every aspects of profusion and parts of life. Once again, congratulation to all of you, especially to those who took the challenge and believed that together, as an American(s), eventually who meets at the top of the mountain. Most of all, I realized that the hardest parts of our challenge or work is ahead of us and let us rollup our sleeves and continue for the better bright future of all.
Thanks,
Wosen.
Barack Obama won because not only of his promise of change, but because of John McCain's choice of a running mate. Had he chose Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney, it would have been a much tighter race.
And for idiots like my sister, who said I should vote Republican because the country is already screwed, so at least when she votes for McCain, at least she knows what she's getting into, called me last night to say,
"Well, looks like we got our president. I wonder when he'll get shot?"
don't blame Obama for our graduated tax system where the wealthy americans pay more than the middle class. it has been this way for many many years. he is only reversing the tax cut for the wealthiest americans back to where it was 8 years ago.
I voted for Obama based on his ethics and his intelligence. His honesty rating against all other primary candidates (of either party) was topped by only one other candidate (Dennis Kucinich). His acceptance speech last night reinforced my sincere belief that he will be an excellent president.
White, black, red or yellow. It really doesn't matter. What people need to understand is that it's not just one person who runs the country. If you haven't noticed, we do have Senate and Congress and they help to run this country into the ground. You cannot blame just one person. As I have learned over the years, all politicians are greedy liars that will say and do anything to get your vote and then kick you in the behind when all is said and done. This is no longer a free country. Our rights are being taken away from us day after day. It was a said day when we started letting the dishonest and dishonorable run our country and we're certainly paying for it now. The rich are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer. AND THERE IS NO SUCH AS THING AS MIDDLE CLASS ANYMORE!
95% of the black vote ? That sould tell america who the real racist are.
What it should tell you is the Republican party has never attempted to understand the issues that are facing a good portion of the minorities in this country and has actively governed in a way that has made the american dream inaccessible for them.
It is amazing that neocons blame the Democrats for everything and take little responsibility themselves for the mess we are in even though they were more in control than the Demos over the vast majority of time since Reagan. They love the Rovian attack mentality where they spew anger and mean spirited venom at all who disagree. I am tired of that, my friends and colleagues are tired of it and most of all our country is tired of it.
Kind of reminds you how the democrats blame the republicans for everything doesn't it?
When you make a mess, people will point at you. And yes, Democrats did blame the Republicans for a lot of the problems, right or wrong, but not in the Rovian style of anger, nastiness and downright uncivil like manners. Just a matter of style and class.
I always just assumed the Repulican party would be the "violent party" if it really came to blows. But I have never seen more violence and "nastiness" as I have seen over the past six months out the the democat/socialist supporters.
Violence and nastiness.....are you sure you're not talking about McCain's campaign?
If its the truth its not nasty..
I am very happy today and proud to be an American. last night and today i weeped when Obama gave that beautiful speech. He was so true and honest man., and that is what our country needs. he is very smart and serious man to work for our country. Good Bless our nation for electing him as president, and i hope he runs for full 8 years so we can see his real hard work of change that our country needs.
The good thing that came from this election was that more people voted and I'm happy for Obama as a role model for afro-americans and other minorities; you can be what ever you want to be in America.
However, I did not vote for him! He is too much of a left wing liberal; he makes Teddy Kennedy look like Ross Perrot. His proposals sound great, but they are the "dreams of an academian" where the "numbers do not add up" AND HE HAS NO IDEA how he will accomplish this.
Furthermore, he is going to spend our tax money just like spent money his campaign AND the middle class families making more than $100K annually will foot the bill through unextended Bush tax cuts and other increases in the tax code. Also, he is going to "redistribute wealth" to the low income people he severed in the innner city, and his wife will be "tugging on his hear" to spend billions on programs to help minorities, specifically afro -americans.
CHANGE, CHANGE you say? The only change to be experienced by the middle class is the "change" left in our pockets becuase Obama and the democrats will spend ALL our dollars!!!!
Don't you mean families of 2 with a taxable income of 250,000.00 or more? Oh, and remember that's after deductions, health care, retirement, etc.... Also take into account that the tax increase being proposed is still less then what they paid 8 years ago. It is a roll back of 3%. The bush tax plan cut taxes for the higher incomes at a much higher rate then the lower. If the Tax cuts had been even across the board there may not have been the problems today. But then again you can not spend 10Billion dollars a month overseas to rebuild another country, cut taxes on the upper incomes in your own country, and keep an economy going all at the same time. Thus budget deficit and borrowed money from foreign interests! If the next president does nothing but pay off our debt and get China (and other foreign interests) out of our government money management system we will be better off then today. As for sharing the wealth please thank all those people who shared their wealth with you when you attended public school, road a school bus, drive on a public road, or go to a public event in the park!
....as long as Obama doesn't spend $10 Billion a month killing our youth, then its all good. If we are going to spend that much money every month, I am more than willing to spend it on my own country!
Omicron, let's flip that argument a bit. I as a poor person pay $20 for a disposable watch. The ultra rich buy disposable watches (cars, clothes,etc...) at $20,000. Yet, the don't resent that.... no only when it does stuff like build roads, levees, schools and public services is it "bad" to spend more. There's a name for that it's called selfishness.
I am VERY afraid for the USA..we will be turned into a Socialist country and we need to hope and pray that we do NOT get another attack on our shores. Obama has zippo (no proven track record period!!) And, need I remind everyone that Hitler, Mussilini and other leaders were deemed "charismatic"..hummm..should make you think about things for those of you who voted for Obama. It will be interesting to see in the the next four years who will be screaming because Obama can not possibily live up to anythig that he has brain washed the entire country..oh, and THANKS TO THE LIBERAL MEDIA..who had to be held back last night in calling the election for Obama!!!!!
