Yes you can.  But remember the last democrat president signed the welfare reform bill.  You will be required to work public service at no pay (volunteer) to get your financial check.  Your lifetime limit for money is 4 years.  We will pay for you to learn a trade but if you flunk out or drop out the free ride ends.  Your money will come on a debit card and there are spending limits.  If you lie, cheat, or get caught doing anything wrong your free ride will include iron bars and body cavity searches.

As usual, the Repugs  are posting hate filled, swearing, name calling, false and ignorant statements.

This is why Obama won, because people are tired of the hate and division and hypocrisy.

The young people who will inherit this country were responsible for the win of Barack Obama.  If you have been reading you will know this.  The black vote was virtually unchanged in percentage from 2004.  Young people of ALL RACES  came together last night and made THEIR choice for the man to lead our country in the 21st century.  I am very proud of the young people of this country as I wasn't sure if they would be apathetic towards this election.  If you were watching Barack's acceptance speech you surely saw all the young people OF ALL RACES in the crowd in Chicago. These are the people who made this presidency possible and I salute them.  I am a 58 year old WHITE mother of 4 and grandmother of 2.  I have voted Republican since I was able to vote in 1968.  And---yes, I voted for Barack Obama.  This country has had its fill of OLD MEN leaders.  We need people who have actually sent an e-mail, posted to a blog, know how to text message.  In other words, embrace technology.  Technology is the world of today and even more so the world of tomorrow.

Further, as a woman I can tell you that as long as I have a breath to take--NO ONE will tell me what to do with my body.  Obviously, I am past child bearing age but I will stand up with any woman of child bearing age and march to keep the choice OURS.  When men can have an UNWANTED pregnancy, then we will talk---NOT BEFORE.  Be warned Sarah Palin.  I will personally lead a million woman march on Washington if you think you stand a chance of becoming the PRESIDENT.

It has been a long time since I have been excited about any new President.  That time is NOW.  My prayers have been answered.  I salute Barack Obama, OUR PRESIDENT.

Me thinks Scott is already hunkering down in his makeshift bunker. To use terms like obamabindenlama shows a true lack of class. Instead of just saying that he thinks that Obama will not be a good President he has to use the same old worn out Rovian/Coulter anger and hate spewing that was rejected by the majority of the American people yesterday.
You just continue to throw out those angry messages Scott. It's what lost you the election badly.

Please don't make sweeping statements for other people...I am a young Mom (26).  I feel very strongly that McCain has the knowledge, respect and expirence to lead and unite this country.  Four years ago today Obama was elected to the Illinois senate and he will soon be the leader of America.  The DOW is down today because those with brains and money know what is coming - higher taxes and a collapse of our economy.  Additionally Russia is ready to attack Poland today because our country has proven that we are selfish and care more about a socialist redistribution of wealth (if it gives us more of other people's money) than chosing a leader with foreign policy experience.

I also put my morals and my country above what would benifit me...that extends to the protection of unborn babies.  I have seen the heartbeats of my two boys only weeks after they were conceived and cannot imagine killing them.  Obama doesn't just support a women's right to choose, he would take the money out of MY paycheck to provide abortions.  That is as wrong as it is unfair.

So please don't speak for the educated, the youth or the women of the country...I am all three and I don't think the same as the ones you may see on T.V.

I KNEW IT Thank GOD. Obama not only won but  he won by a LANDSLIDE. The First Democrat to win Indiana since the 30's Won in Florida and Killed in Ohio. And has won by the biggest mandate a Democrat has ever seen. MORe then Clinton more then Carter and even JFK NOT  Since FDR has a Democrat  won so decisively Whether you like him or not the vast majority of this country has  came out in RECORD numbers and VOTED for Obama!!. NOW we will all see if the Change we have all hoped for and voted for will happen.  It wont be easy and  there is a lot to fix since Republicans have almost complelty destroyed this country but it can be done.

Shouldn't you be thanking Allah instead of God?   The hate vote usually coincides with a landside victory.

You will get what you voted for, and it will be worse for America.   Our only hope is to survive the next four years.

                                          Obamabidenlama himself said...

"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides," Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the
American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."

YOUR president Obamabidenlama is an unAmerican as they come.  If he's not going to choose the American side, then who's side is he on?  Al Qaeda?

I would like to know who doctored the video and pictures. They must have been extremely talented that they were able to move Obamas right hand from his heart and clasp it to his left hand in front of him. He is extremely disrespectful to those who gave their lives and the veterans who made it possible for an anti-american to be elected president. The saddest part about it is that so many Americans over-looked his behavior or had their heads too far in the sand to understand the meaning of his refusal to salute the flag.

COME ON AMERICA, let's get it together and give GLORY to the one that made all of this possible, which is OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST through his father "THE ALMIGHTY GOD", who has a reason for everything! Of course last night was a time of grief for some and a time of pain and disparity for others, but we all should "STAND FIRM", and ask the Lord to see us through on all that we do and ask for. Obama and McCain are both a child of God, and we should look beyond the criticism and stop the verbal attacking, and respect both parties because they both offered something that was beneficial to everybody; however, each had a different priority for the American people. They both had a tough speech to present to America, but I do believe that God brings light to the darkness, and America has been in the dark for too long. I pray that God softens the heart of those that are harden, give peace to the unjust, uplifted those that are sad, and continue to bring happiness to those that are not. This Election term brings about a new leader for the World. It is over for the Bu@!$%#es, and have just begun for the Obamanites. The same God that delivered the Isrealites out of a tormented and struggling world, will be the same God that will bring forth milk flowing with honey to the start of a new leadership. I give honor to God and I PRAY that he will wrap his arms around the Obama family, and protect this world in a way in which no walls will ever be torn down again. I ask for mercy to those that are full of hate right now and forever. Last and certainly not least, Obama is a great guy. Through this tough week, he and his family stood strong despite of the hardship they experienced among the arrogant ones. He kept his mind set on the race, and not one time did he let up or was bashful towards his opponent. What better man than that can AMERICA ask for?

Funny, you supported what people are saying in your own statement.  And you would be very naive to think that African-Americans aren't racist against whites in this country.  Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan just to name a few.

Tell me, why were the new Black Panthers standing outside polling places in Philidelphia intimidating white voters?

I think Obama won because FINALLY we had a candidate who did not make the race about himself.  He reached out to all of us and asked for our help, and we responded with our money and our time and our voices and our willingness to help effect change.  I am 58 years old and have voted in every presidential election since I was 18 years old, but this is the first time that I actually participated with any enthusiam and with any real hope of seeing change.  Obama gives me hope again, and HOPE IS A POWERFUL THING.  In Obama's acceptance speech at the convention, he stated that the thing the Republicans didn't understand was that this election had never been about him....it was about us.  And we responded....and yesterday we took back our ownership of America!!!

Last night and today i weeped when Mr.Obama gave that beautiful speech. he was so honest and true to all of us, and that is what our nation needs. He is very smart and serious man. I thank America again and again for not making a big mistake and choosing Obama as our presindent. May Good Bless our nation for making this happen and electing our next presindent Barack Obama.

                                                                      Biased media reporting?

The level of ignorance by certain people in this blog is staggering! Let me ask you something: How many times does one person have to answer the same questions until you are satisfied? Or is that you won't be satisfied until the person answers with an answer that allows you to use it against them, irregardless of the truth?

And speaking of the media, I submit to you this: If you are going to run a campaign where you refuse to acknowledge what your opponent says, continues to twist his words and his record, go into every debate asking the same questions that you asked in the last debate, and probably most importantly, bounce around all over the place as you seek to find SOMETHING, ANYTHING, that might give you a chance to steal some votes; well, after awhile that is no longer news. John McCain allowed the people whom he put in charge of his campaign make him look like a fool and while I am no republican, he did in deed have my vote to lose when this began.

And he lost it the same way Hillary did....

By concentrating on scaring people and tearing down the opponents character while the focus should have been on the issues that matter most to Americans and the rest of the free world.

That is what Obama did and that is why he won the thing.

The Republican Party is not dead; they've simply had a reality check. You can't alienate yourself from the bulk of the population and hope people are dumb enough to keep taking chances with you.

Do you think the people won't get Obama out of there in 4, if he doesn't give Americans what they need? Get real!

That should be common sense, but some of you need to get out of your own way to see it. This was never about Obama; it was about the majority of the population being sick of policies that have this country where we are. If McCain, Romney, Hillary, or Edwards would have sold the country on a plan they could believe in, one of them could be where Obama is now. But they were all "old school" with their politics and the people who will be responsible for moving forward in this country (the young) were sick of it.

And at 45 and can't blame them!

Some of you clowns aren't racists, but you sure are ignorant as can be.

The same people saying the same ignorant, racist things. A few of the same people countering. People switching their positions on the same stream a few entries later. I'm not going to pretend that I understand exactly what purpose these blogs serve other than as a racist meat-market. No intelligence is needed to hate and act as though one has some God given right to feel superior to anyone else. Finally I get the picture.See the sham. Damn! What was I thinking? America is still as racist as it ever was. A trip to these blogs affirms that, but the young people will have no more of it, and that is the change that has made itself evident. For all of us who want better lives; let's dance our Country into the future of at least trying to be humane to each other and the planet.
