Looking for a reasonably-priced small electric car that I can use to travel between home and work. The NMG, priced right, might be OK.

Tesla Model S! 4 dr ,5 passenger, 0-60 <60sec, 240 miles a charge. They get the price in the $40,000 range and thats my new car!

Unless "Beg, Barrow and Plead' A.K.A. "The Big Three" or Honda manages to come up with something comparable by the time the Model S goes into production. And it better look as good! Yeah Right!

Overtaxing the power grids?  Are you nuts?  First you DUMP your gas burner... and buy an electric car (even if it's just to commute to work).  Put solar collectors on your home...  charge your electric car from the energy from the sun... AND... charge public service for the electricity you don't need!

Overtax the grid?  Hell get OFF the grid all together!

Wish they would adapt the hybrid to vans. I need the space for infirm friends and family. Sedans sit too low for a friend that has 2 artifical knees and my 85 year old dad. We carpool for weekend outings. I take the seats out the rest of the week to move drywall and some tools. My current van is a worker and commuter. A sedan or pickup just won't fit all my needs. The van certainly does and I want only one vehicle.

For to long I have seen trucks that seem to haul air. People buy trucks for this reason or that, but no one seems to be buying them for what they were originally built for. I haul stuff, I don't need heated leather seats, I don't need a DVD player in the rear seat for the kids, I don't need a rear seat. I need a truck, basic, simple, truck. I want it to burn less fuel, be greener, and save me money when gas jumps back to $4.00 a gallon. Problem is all the trucks on the market are trying to be cars. I feel like the manufacturers are making cars with pickup beds and trying to sell them to people for everything. It gets them around all the government standards, But it leaves the people who use their trucks for work wanting something better. I have even considered converting an older truck to electric. I have seen it done on the smaller trucks, but I haven't found a kit for a full sized four wheel drive. If I had then that would be what I was driving. The new full sized truck feel cheap, don't hold up to any hard driving, break down regularly, and get horrible fuel economy to boot. I can't get one with the options I need, unless I take a bunch of stuff I don't want. The price of that truck is ridicules. The big three say they are hurting, I wander why.

I agree with disgusted independent! Come on Americans! Sacrafice a little, our troops are doing it daily for us so you can fill up your gas hogs.  Just buy an efficient, affordable vehicle that gets you from point a to point b and stop worrying about the comfort of your fat butts for the 30 minutes to an hour a day during your commute.

I want a simple nonsporty compact coupe with a manual transmission. For some reason this kind of car is out of fashion now. There are a few but there should be a better selection.

My minimum requirements for my next auto purchase include an all electric sedan or SUV that can go 75 miles on a single charge at an average speed of 65 mph and that costs less than $50,000!  I don't want a hybrid!  All electric, no gas for me anymore!

99.99% of my daily driving is less than 50 per day and I really dig the idea of not paying for that nasty, imported, cancer-causing petrol--at $2/gal or 5$/gal, I don't want to buy that stuff anymore.  I have been waiting and searching the internet for my next car for the past 2 years.

I can't believe it is taking so long to get some decent electric cars on the market.  If I had the money, I'd already be driving a Telsa!

I wouldn't mind a hybrid, as long as it's done like the trains. I want a constant-running gas (or biodiesel) engine that turns a generator. That generator both sends power to batteries and to the motors. I want the electric motors in the wheels. One per wheel.

And I want it somewhere around $25,000.
