I think the Cardinals will win. Their offense is better, and the defense will need to play their hearts out, but I think they can do it!
It was a clean, hard hit, you try to to lead with your shoulder, but, guess what, your head happens to protude from your body farther than your shoulder. As was obvious to all, the players praying, concerned, showed the level of Love the participants feel for one another. They all know they are one hit away from retirement. My prayers go to Willis, a true NFL warrior.
The Steelers won't be able to stand the "heat" in the Cardinal's kitchen with Kurt Warner as Chef!
steelers baby!
Of course the Steelers will win, Arizona fell apart in the second half. AFC will win. They can't do that against Pittsburgh.
No matter who wins the Super Bowl, the Cardinal fans have already won the CLASS ACT.
Why is it that so many people have no imagination and can only call anyone who disagrees with them 'haters'? They do it on political boards and now on a sports comment page, how childish.
That being said...GO Cardinals. Love Fitzgerald, Love Warner, Love Wilson. Love the whole team for being class acts and fighters in the face of huge odds against them. Proud to be a fan and already feel like a fan who has won no matter what happens in the Super Bowl.(Remember Steeler fans, NO ONE expected us to be playing in the post season yet here we are on our way to the Super Bowl)
Proud to be a 12 year Arizona Cardinals Season Ticket Holder!!!
What are you talking about? Your team clinched a playoff spot before the Steeler did.
Go STEELERS! It's funny, we have had more bad calls during a game that are shown to be wrong the day after and we don't complain....yet all the whiners ALWAYS attack us because that's the only way their teams have a chance to beat us....their whiney fans complaining and trying to take away a GOOD win from a GREAT team.....goood luck to the Cardinals (rooted in W. PA-as are most great NFL teams) and the Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII...the Steelers will pull out a win, they have experience AND talent!!
Ever heard of Smash Mouth Football, Steelers yes, the Birds NO, Warner will spend most of the day looking at the sky, on his back of course compliments of the Steelers defence. Steelers by 10
The Steelers play Smash Mouth football and will win by 10
The Arizona Cardinals will win the Super Bowl! After the diry playing that I saw come from the Steelers tonight and the hurt players that the Steelers have, there is no way they will win the Super Bowl! The Ravens would have beaten the Steelers if the "helmet to helmet contact" hadn't happened. Something really needs to be done about the dirty playing of the Pittsburg Steelers! It happens in every game that they play in. Go Cardinals!!!!!
Whaaaaa. The Steelers play their hearts out. What you call dirty play, the refs and commentators call a clean hit. Quit crying and face the fact when it comes to tough, the Steelers have got it going on.
'Pittsburg' is in the east bay (Northern California) and as far as I know, don't have a team in the NFL. From your inarticulate sentiments one can only assume you are as well, and guess what, the East Bay doesn't have an NFL team either, and won't again until the Raiders organization gets a good housecleaning starting at the very top. Must get old hoping your black and silver can eek out another 5 win season...
How would the Ravens have won without the "helmet to helmet contact"? They were already losing by 9 points (remember, it was AFTER the Polamalu interception return for a TD) and it just allowed the Steelers to run out the clock. You aren't really all that bright, are you?
you know nothin hell its been 61 years, they as bad as the cubs
We have been picng against Arizona all playoff and have been wrong. I just do not know if they can handle the pressure that Pittsburgh will bring.
In the 3rd quarter and the 1st drive of the 4th, Philly kept bringing heat and the Cards had no answer for it. For some reason, Philly got away from it on the last drive.
The Cards D scares me somewhat, McNabb missed several big plays that could have resulted in 6.
I say pittsburgh 26 Arizona 17.
I dont think it was helmet to helmet(and I hate Pittsburgh). The question is will Pittsburgh keep the pressure on Warner. When Philly did that in the 3rd, the only pass Warner could even get off was a missile to Boldin which he missed by 20 yds. In the 4th they went away from it.
I think Pittsburgh is too tough upfront. If Ward is hurt, things can change. The Ravens needed two special teams playes and 2 interference plays o even score. They did not even gain 200 yds.
San Diego is similar to Arizona, and Pittsburgh wore them down too.
I hate to say it Pittsburgh 26 Az 17
Az was exposed in the 2nd half. For some reason Philly went back to what did not work in the 1st half.
On that final drive after Westbrook caught the ball for 19 yds. McNabb missed a wide open Jackson, a wide open Baskett and Curtis dropped the ball.
It wil be a good matchup Cromartie vs Ward/Holmes
Give him a helmet and some pads and Obama will win! He can do anything! Yea, Obama!
All Pitt has is a defense. Rothelesburger is over rated, he can't score as well as everybody thinks. Warner is the better QB by far. Arizona also has a great D, plus they have a great offense. Pitt will put up a fight, but I think Arizona will wim by a TD.
No, wait, were you being serious? So all of the experts that are saying that Ben should be considered one of the 3 best QBs in the league (with Manning and Brady) are wrong? Whew, I'm sure glad you cleared that up for me. I better go put my money down on Arizona. Hold on, hold on.....that's right, I just noticed that you're a Cardinal fan, so you don't really know what you're talking about. Ok, never mind. Steelers by 14.
Arizona Cardinals like being the underdog. If they are....they will win their first superbowl!
I believe the Cardinals will rise to the occasion and give those ruffian Steelers a good smashing...the Giants had the footballs gods on their side last year and this year it is the Cardinals...Kurt Warner looked good, has the experience and they have learned the advantages of using the run, although in the second half they seemingly forgot that...the Cardinals need to use the run throughout the game and Warner just plays better in a dome...and I am amazed at how quickly Warner can get rid of the ball to help defeat the blitz...yes I believe the football gods are smiling on the Cards this year...
I think Pitt has the better defense, so defense is what wins super bowls, so I picked the Steelers
Sure was Helmet to Helmet, that dude drove his head like when a bull is coming to buck you. Hope his neck is not broke. Any way one bird left standing. Since I am from Westside, Go Cardinals, you deserive the win. You all have earned it and earned respect. I was hoping to see the Ravens and Cardinals. Hats of to Troy he is definitely a football player. Ray Lewis, I feel for you, Good job anyway, still my favortie defender.
Did you watch, really watch the replay in slomo? It was a legal hit. Shoulder to chest was the intent, but they were traveling into each other with terrific speed and the helmets did bump one another due to natural force. I think it is called physics. Kudos to Arizona for making it this far, but it would have made no difference if they had to face Purple Pain or the Steel Curtin; the result would and will be the same. Here we go Steelers here we go!
Don't hate the player hate the game, Pittsburgh has a kick ass Defence and there's no getting around that. All you're seeing is Pittsburgh bring back their old game that made them who the are, from years past the Frano Harris and others the curtain is " BACK "
To all the haters out there, it's okay...we're used to it. We know that your teams pale in comparison to our Steelers and we don't hold it against you. We understand that when we play clean football, you look for the minor details to make your losses seem justified. Let me assure that everyone in Pgh is hoping that McGhee is okay....that's why the ENTIRE stadium went quiet, and everyone cheered as he was being led off the field. Yes, AZ will be a challenge, as Wisenhunt is the head coach, but we like challenges. I think it will be a great game, going right down to the wire and the winner depends on which team has the better defense.
If Pittsburgh brings the same ref's with them they will win. What a sad tale for the NFL. Cardinals should win. Sick of Pittsburgh and the same hype.
Wait for it....
Wait for it...
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Since coming to Canada in 1957 my wife's favourite team has been the Steelers,\. They will win because she is never wrong
As much as I've loved reading everyone's posts, this is by far the best analysis I've read! (Honorable Mention goes to USMC). The result of the hit on McGahee was regrettable, but the hit itself was clean. All Steelers fans wish him a speedy recovery. The sour grapes have become tiresome. Congratulate yourselves on a great season and start figuring out how to get it done next year. That's what true champions do. One for the OTHER thumb!!!
Since coming to Canada in 1957 the Steelers have been my wife's favourite NFL team.
She says they will win - she is never wrong (just ask her).
Steelers will win. They've got the talent and they've got the heart. They've got a mountain of a quarterback in Big Ben who can hold is ground and wait for the "spot" to be open. They've got the "flying Samoan," Troy Polumalu who plays like a berserker on the field and talks like Pittsburgh's own Mr. Rogers off the field. They've got Heinz Ward, Willie Parker....the list could go on. They have a heck of a coach and a leader in Mike Tomlin. They have the "Steeler Nation" giving them the backing and enthusiasm unparallelled by any other fan base. People like to root for the underdogs, in this case the Cards, but the day will be won by the "big dogs," the Steelers.
The Cardinals would make a great Cinderella story; however, Arizona candidates have not been winners lately, so I'll go with the Steelers. It should be a good game though.

Probably the Pitttsburgh Steelers. They always seem to have the referees on their side!!! THAT WAS HELMET-TO-HELMET!!!!!!!
