Actually, he is a natural born citizen.  What baffles me is that people buy into this stupid rumor.  Don't you think that a Bush led government would have investigated such claims and trumpeted them accross the US if they were true?  They wouldn't have allowed him to run if he wasn't a natural born citizen. Period. He produced his birth certificate and yes he has proven that he was born on US soil.  So let this go!

Also, please use proper grammer and spelling. It would make your post easier to read.

Bush led government had nothing to gain or lose by investigating whether or not Obama was naturally born in America or not.  Their term was over with no possibility of re-election.  There was a question about him being born in Hawaii or Kenya, but the phony birth certificate cleared that up already.  Or did it?  I'm actually excited to watch our new President embark on a voyage that he was never qualified to sail.  Perhaps we should have elected a true navy man and a "real American hero".  It should be interesting to see what someone does with the position after they buy an election.  I would've thought he would at least wait until taking office to tell the American people that he won't be able to make good on all of the campaign promises that they all bought into.  Yes, this is a historic day.  But, besides the obvious reasons, I don't see any real solid reason to celebrate this inauguration.  Give me a President who offers substance and integrity and only then will I get excited about "change".

Here we go again… Obama has promised…

“The first thing I’d do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That’s the first thing I’d do.”

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would eliminate every restriction on abortion nationwide.

FOCA will do away with state laws on parental involvement, on partial birth abortion, and on all other protections.

FOCA will compel taxpayer funding of abortions.

FOCA will force faith-based hospitals and healthcare facilities to perform abortions.

Barack Obama believes this legislation will "end the culture wars." To him, "ending the culture wars" means eradicating every state and federal law on abortion — laws that the majority of Americans support.

          When is enough … enough?

Let's face it, accidents happen. Many young people make poor choices and become pregnant. Is it worse to destroy a life before it develops feelings and emotions, or to bring an unwanted child into this world. Think about what happens to unwanted children during pregnacy. Most often these young woman are abusing drugs and alcohol during their pregnancy. The parents are never even held accountable for their neglegence.

I personally am opposed to abortion. On the flip side, the thought of an unwanted child entering this world almost seems worse.

I strongly agree that religious hospitals should still be allowed to decline such procedures, however state hospitals have a duty to the state.

            Good luck Mr. Obama.

What a sad day for America. Yes we have hired a man a mere man, who believes that infanticide should be a choice. The first right is "to be born."

And yes, Vicky, I have made that grave mistake, one I regret every day of my life. Have you looked at what actually happens to the "baby" during an abortion, espcially a full-term partial birth abortion, which your new president of "change" supports whole heartedly? Get the facts, abortion is killing human beings, funny I bet if we discussed aborting puppies or baby polar bears, you liberals would scream!

Let's give all of us a fresh start and start to work together, to listen to one another.  Over the years there has been to much negativeness in this country.  Lets work together to over come our differences, but to do it with respect for one another.

This is a joyous, life changing event.  And for the first time in a long time this country can come together on something positive rather than negative.  Just like the miracle on the Hudson.  There are important roads we are going to travel in the next four years.  Can't we be happy that we're all starting out on the right foot together?

All this bulls**t about "coming together" is making me ill.  Where was all the togetherness during the Bush administration?  I didn't hear the left making any remarks about working together or having hope and other warm fuzzy feelings.  The bellicose and vitriolic garbage that came out of the lefts collective mouths blew my mind.  I've never in my life seen such hatred.  Never.  Now, suddenly, we are all peace and love.  Don't bulls**t me.  You love your own and you hate everyone else.  Hypocrites.

Why can't we all just get along?  Because the left is full of hatred and rage, like a rabid animal, unable to reason, if you don't agree with them, they draw blood.

When did Pres Bush ever make an effort to bring us together? The recent attitude towards unity and peace has been spurred by the fact that we can BELIEVE we have a president who honestly wants to unite the country, to put aside the differences and try and figure out the common ground to actually solve the problems. Think of the last time Bush urged the American people to put selfish desires aside and roll up our sleeves? No instead we're told to shop.

I agree with Caninelover, the hyperbole is making me ill. We now have a president who wants a united country, wants for us to put aside our differences--and do exactly as he says.

Do you realize your judicial system is full of men and women right now that are liberal, like Obama?  Do you realize you just stated to the country you arent informed enough to even know where corruption actually is and just admitted you voted for the same liberal agenda to run the office of president as the agenda running the judicial system ?  This is exactly why so many of us voted for McCain.  We see other areas of the country that have been run by liberal democrats and we see where we are headed....The democratic party is not a "nice" party and the good ol boy network is only  being replaced by the crybaby network...watch and learn...i bet the majority of people on this blog never realized Clinton was impeached, either.  sad sad sad

... a screaming hault... is that why under the current democratic congress, at the urgency of the president elect to do so, gave the bankers $350,000,000,00 last month and we aren't alowed to see where the money went? Is that why the democratic congress (again at the urgency of the president elect) is giving the "Big 3" automakers 30 some billion in payment for their vote last November, to keep doing what they have always been doing, losing money? Is that why there was $150,000,000.00 worth of pork tied to the wall street bailout approved by this democratic congress?

Yes Sue Jensen, small time "legal robbery" is dead, we are now playing with the big boys and the West Side of Chicago is what America will be like in four years or less.

1.There are more issues than just abortion.

2.You can CHOOSE when you can get pregnant!

3.I wouldn't have one myself, but I would rather have women have abortions than abuse or kill their children after they are born.  Too bad Casey Anthony didn't have an abortion ... or better yet, too bad her mother didn't....

Shame on you for your narrowmindedness!  What does being black have to do with it? There's no place for racism or bigotry here.  Yes, it is a historic event because he is the first black President elect, but that's not what the celebration is about for many of us.  This is a celebration of a fresh start for the United States of America, and the chance to regain respect in the international community.  The election is over!  If you don't like the results, you get a fresh opportunity to express that in four years.  In the meantime, grow up!  We have had enough of school yard bullies in the last eight years to last a lifetime.

this is in reply to long haired trackers question about what does being black have to do with anything well in my humble opinion it should have nothing to do with anything but the news media and obama supporters seem to think his being half black they forget his mother and her family are white and that he was raised by whites when his black father did not step up to the plate after the death of his mother so her parents raised him and educated him but to hear him and his wife and their polictical supporters speak he is only  black and feels the pain of being raised black in the usa bull I hope for the best but am dam tired of having every black entertanier  and spoke person  acting like he is the second coming of christ because of a skin tone there should be more than the color of a persons skin to be endorsed by so many what has he done for all people in his district and what are his goals for this country of many skin tones and religons because in the end we are all one race and that is the human race

Its not okay to bash Obama because he has no record to bash.  Innocent until proven guilty not guilty by association.  Non-voting Senator for two years and only really served one of those because he was campaigning the whole other year.  How can you bash someone who has literally done NOTHING?

Maybe nothing to "bash" , but maybe question.  What about his affiliation with  Rev. "God damn America"  Jeremiah Wright?  Obama had aligined himself with Wright and his teachings for years.

I too am sick of this, "im gonna roll up my sleeves.. now ive got work t do garbage".  All of you libs hated bush when he was re-elected, even though his speech contained some of the same type of sentiments that Obama's did today.  Liberals sat back and waited for him falter.  When they needed something to hold onto in the weeks following 9-11, they tolerated him as EVERYONE was looking for someone to make us feel safe--and he did!!!!.  Then, in the months, years, following, libs did nothing but bash every decision he made.

Love how this "we've got work to do"  crap is being spouted  everywhere today.  Where was it yesteray, last month, last year.  Cmon--Barak Obama, in a few speeches has mangaed to strengthen your resolve, pull you up by your bootstraps and inspired you to believe in America again.  Where was that determination before?  These are just words people.  Lets see what he does in the next days and months.  I love this country!!!  I'm inspired by the beauty of it and the freedom I get to enjoy everyday.   I don't love it anyMORE just because we have a black democrat in office.

I hope Mr. Obama can fulfill many of the promises he has laid out.  Don't Deify him.  That position should be reserved for only One.  May God Bless our Great Land

I don’t think this is the time or place for this. We should as stated before keep our rocks in the garden, and the mud in the politicians pockets to sling later. WE ARE ALL AMERICANS >>> NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR>. Keep that in mind.

If we can fight together, why can we not live together. Keep the crayons out of the picture.

This is the most exciting thing in politics in my lifetime (65 years).  I wish Pres. Obama the best of everything and only wish that the fanatics could get over trying to jam their ideology down the rest of us.......having choice means just that  .........CHOICE!  Religion belongs in the home and in the church......not in the halls of congress or the White House.......look what the past 8 years have brought us......nothing but hypocrisy and hard feelings......George Washington and Thomas Jefferson would not even pray in public, and now....thanks to the likes of Bush and company....it's become a litmus test of patriotism......enough already!

Yes, we have a new President and yes it is a time to celebrate because he is the first Black President, but let's not continue to bash the exiting President.  President Bush has kept us safe from another terrorist attack for the last 7 years (which we should all be thankful for).  You may not have liked some of the things he has done, but he does deserve the same respect that every President should get.  You people have no idea how lucky you are to live in a free world.  You can hate your President, disrespect him and still be free without fear of being killed or thrown into prison.  So, let's just stop hating Bush and get on with our lives and pray that this new President will be able to keep  us safe and bring our economy back on track.  Or you will probably be bashing him in the next four years or maybe not.

Nope, it ended on January 20, 1981 -- the day Jimmy Carter (our worst president ever) left office.

Believe me I am no fan of George W. Bush but if you combine the unemployment and inflation rate numbers of his administration vs President Carter's presidency they are much better. Best wishes to the Obama administration this term on the problems (and they are very real) that he faces, but I am not a fan of HUGE GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION..
