I didn't see any questionable calls. I think they did a very nice job.

They totally gave the Cardinals the shaft. Why did number 92 of the steelers not get kicked out of the game?? Personal foul??

The refs called some bad calls on both teams. Some that could of been overturned if reviewed.

Refs had more tv time than I care for. There was a lot of holding calls, but more that didn't get called. Arizona just didn't make the play

I think the Ref's blew it at the end by not spending the time to evaluate the "fumble" call on Warner. His arm was going forward.

Horrible - The officials did not even come close to being consistent. Always a big problem in football.

The ref's are wrong 50% of the time. Just ask the team that had the penalty called on them. If you think you know more about the rules or see more than the ref's do, try to walk on the field in their place. You have the value of instant replay and of course we all have 20/20 hindsight. Believe me, football officiating is no easy job and those guys do a fine job of seeing all the angles. Not everything gets called - but how much more gets called than you - Joe sixpack - ever saw? See you at spring practice.

I'm glad it isn't my job to try and officiate the NFL; too many rules and so many left to the opinion of the ref.  That being said, this is the super bowl.  My team hasn't been in the game for many years and as such I feel my opinion is unbiased.  Going back to the New England, St. Louis Superbowl, it has been as much the no calls as the calls that are so questionable.  New England basically mauled the Rams receivers that entire game, not allowing them to run routes.  Then the Seattle game was even worse where without a doubt officiating determined that game.  The game last night was again more no calls on Pittsburgh than calls on Arizona which made the difference.  The personal foul on hitting the QB was suspect but nothing could top the end of the game.  Why would they not even consider reviewing that play?  Earlier this year I watched the St. Louis, New England game (don't ask why; nothing else was on).  That game the Pats received zero penalties;   ZERO!!!! If the NFL says there are no "Jordan" rules in the NFL, they are lying.  With all the money bet on this game, it seems to me that this truly needs to be investigated.  After the fixing in the NBA, anything is possible.

Let's face it AZ fans you're pissed because your storybook ending for Kurt was denied. You know as well as I do all Ben needs is two minutes to get the job done and as always he did it again. Yes the officiating wasn't good and is it ever? That's part of the game if the officiating is good why do they have to review so many plays why use officials at all just use the replay official. I've been a Steeler fan for many years and I agree some calls did go the Steelers way but let's look at it from another angle. The ref's kept it so that whoever was taking the points with AZ beat the bookies and Vegas....hmmmmm you think any officials has a piece of that? Stop being pissed that Harrison ran 100 yards and scored but how about get pissed at your dear Kurt for throwing the ball right to Harrison....you wouldn't have anything to complain about if he tucked it for another play........so now wake up and eat the grapes may they be sour or sweet....the Steelers are Super Bowl Champs that's right babies and now back to a commercial....hahahahahaha

Retired ref, interesting that you avoid some of the tougher questions posed such as the roughing the QB atrocity on what should have been called intentional grounding or the roughing the holder nonsense that isn't even a rule as far as I can tell. Also, the non-call on the SB celebration that would have set AZ up with good field position was a factor. The refs weren't out of position or too lame and slow to see those ones. Admit it, there was favoritism. The drive in the 3rd quarter with the three bogus personal foul calls was absolutely over the top. To try and save a bit of face, they called most of the fourth quarter squarely, but Harrison should have been thrown out for that MMA nonsense he pulled on Francisco. Did they not see that one either? Oh that's right, they threw flags that amounted to one yard and let the thug continue playing in the game. I don't care to be a ref just as I don't care to be an ambulance chaser, but I do my job (history professor) honestly and competently. If you're saying that all of these refs this year were just honestly bungling things left and right (I'm a Chargers fan, so you know I have a legitimate bone to pick with your ilk), then I guess it's time for new refs, eh? You know that refs play favorites and power trip, don't pretend that they don't.

The game was called poorly but hey, referees need a little face time too. I don't think the refs cost the Cards the game but they definately didn't help. Both the winning TD and the Int return if called the other way initially, do not get overturned. The officials gave the Steelers the benifit of the doubt both times. On the other side, the holding call for a safety was holding but an iffy call. Harrison is a punk and apparently the refs think Rothliesburger is a pansy who cant take a legal hit. Same refs who also think Warner is an indistructable human who can take getting his head ripped off 3 seconds after throwing. Holding calls on Cards' tackle were good and could have probably been called more but the interference on DRC was crap and facemask should have been called on both Holmes and DRC. By the way, not a Cards or Steelers fan. I love the Broncos and loathe the Chargers!

Two questions on the Harrison touchdown. Fitzgerald was out of bounds almost the length of the field as he chased down Harrison. Is that legal? Also there was a penalty on Arizona (facemask?) on the play. Why wasn't the yardage tacked on to the second half kickoff?

Here's one I haven't seen mentioned. How about the no flag for Holmes's Touchdown celebration using the Football as a prop for their last TD? Should have been called, unsportsman-like conduct!

Last play shows ball out of Warner's hand before he throws = FUMBLE! Good call. Roethlisberger "TD" in 1st quarter probably was TD in any other game...was reversed probably to make up for perception (incorrect) that refs made bad calls in Super Bowl 40. With the exception of Don Denkinger in the '82 series, refs calls don't decide the outcome. The better team won, and may have missed out on some calls. Here's one fan who thought the first overruled Warner fumble WAS also a fumble.

This is the championship game, let them play, if you gonna call it then be fair and consistant. Harrison should have been ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct... but it was an awsome game inspite of the referees. Hats off to both teams, best SB I've seen in years!

To all of the whiny so called football lovers on here... ggeeeezeeeeee.. can you go lay down already?? Do you guys actually watch football? Do you not see that human error and luck are part of this game and what makes it so fantastic??! Give the Steelers credit where it is due, will ya?? They played the hardest schedule all year..they played thru injurys and all of us having to watch our quarterback laying on the field paralized for 15 minutes and they still managed to get the Biggest W of all!!!! Hats off to the WORLD CHAMPION STEELERS!!!!

Skinny socks - I take it you haven't watched the replays. The ball was not in Warner's control. When that happens, it is called a FUMBLE! Because the ball went forward, it doesn't mean it was a pass. I don't want to take anything away from the Cardinals - they played a good game. Their only mistake was they left time on the clock after Fitzies TD. Or maybe God did intervene and let the Steelers win because Fitzies self -indulgence watching himself score?

Refs were simply bad. No bias, just bad. The worst missed calls were on the interception return (block in the back - obvious) and the rediculous roughing the passer call on Big Ben. Harrison probably should have been tossed for fighting - I mean give me a break. The refs should have spent the time to carefully review the final play, but they did make the right call, that time. Its sad to see two great teams be negatively effected, especially the Cardinals, who deserved better. I rooted for the Steelers because of their teamwork and their organization, but rooted for Warner because he truly is the NFL's man of the year...every year. Sad to see anybody lose that game.

If the refs called every holding call in the game, there would be a penalty every down. Any analyst will tell you that just like any basketball analyst will tell you almost every dunk should be called for traveling. Refereeing is not an easy profession and if anyone honestly thinks they can do a better job, try it. It's not easy. You can't always get the perfect angle on a play. There was one ref who had any real view on the run back. Do you honestly expect him to get all the right calls? We can see the play on angle the ref will not be able to get. They can't watch a video to review otherwise that disrupts the flow of the game. There are so many refs because not one man can do it. So, yes, they did miss calls and there were probably some bad calls but that's why you play the game. If you expect the perfect calls in everygame, go back to play Madden Football. Otherwise, congrats to Pittsburgh for winning it's sixth championship ring in 43 years.

Btw, Harrison got low blowed on that personal foul and that bogus holding call that ended up as a safety nearly gave the game to Arizona. Also, the booth had reviewed the call (albeit for a short period of time) and felt that Kurt Warner did not have full control of the ball when his hand was moving forward, thus a fumble.

I will give you that the fumble should have been reviewed at the end, especially in the Super Bowl. But it would have been a fumble--he lost control of it before, yes before, his arm started going forward. The rule is he must have control of the ball, like he did in the earlier reversal, when the arm sstarts forward. The ball was spinning in his hand as it was cocked, way before it started forward.

There were missed calls on both sides--always are.
