It would have been if people cared about the teams that were playing.

Stupid calls. "Tuck Rule" anybody??? If it worked for Brady it should have worked now. Anticlimactic ending.

It was a good game and the media tried to hype it up as much as they could... it wasn't a Joe Montana last min drive or 2002 Patriots win.

The Patriot's win in 2002 was the greatest Super Bowl of all time (this one wasn't even close).

I have never seen a game with more unfair ref calls towards Arizona, more ignored calls, and an apparant backing toward Pittsburgh. Fouls that should never have been called were on AZ, while few were on PITT.

The halftime show was a waste of time, the pre-show should have been scrapped, and Bob Costas should have never been allowed on stadium grounds.

Basically, this game was robbed from Arizona and given to the more mediocre team.

I certainly agree. The officiating made up its mind to give Pittsburgh the title. There were at least 2 different holding non calls on Pittsburgh final drive not to mention that both feet were never down on the touchdown catch. There were so many pure bogus calls against Arizona that the NFL and Pittsburgh should be embarrased for this outcome!!!! This game was a pure joke and steeler fans should not be out celebrating this scam of a victory!!!!

                          whine

                          (hwn, wn)

                          v. whined, whin·ing, whines v.intr. 1. To utter a plaintive, high-pitched, protracted sound, as in pain, fear, supplication, or complaint. 2. To complain or protest in a childish fashion. 3. To produce a sustained noise of relatively high pitch: jet engines whining.

You can always tell who the fan is that has never played the game. The Cardinals gave up a 78 yard drive to lose the game. Have you ever dedicated yourself to a football season as a player or coach? Your ignorance of the game is what I'm embarrrased about. Get over it.

                          SoreLoser:

Someone who can't simply be honorable, by accepting defeat and/or trying again. On the contrary, said individual or group engages in childish pissing and moaning; @!$%#ing about how it's not fair and the other side cheated, etc.

The touchdown by harris #92 should not have been as the ball was not over the white line at the end zone. The official review and the refs were blind to that.

I thought it was an exciting game. I lived in Pittsburgh when they won the 4 Superbowls and needed one for the thumb.

Now - they are working on filling the second hand with Superbowl Rings.

You Arizona fans are sorry losers. I watched the game and Pittsburgh got it done.

Just goes to show you whiners - never say die unless you have to and never give up.

That game was won in the last 3 minutes.

PS - Of course the Steelers won. Why would a bird win over a Steeler?

Let's talk about a blown call.

What about the holding in the end zone call? That was clearly a gimme to Arizona ... Hartwig fell backwards and the AZ defense stumbled on top of him. THAT was a blown call for sure, and it cost Pittsburgh 9 points (2 on the saftey and 7 more on the touchdown after the free kick).

After that turn of events, Arizona had every opportunity to seal up the victory. It's not like the ref's called a pass interference on the 1 yard line to set up an easy score. Pittsburgh had a first-and-twenty because of a holding call on the final drive but the defense couldn't stop the 78 yard march to the end zone. Like the Steeler's D was outplayed earlier in the fourth quarter by the Arizona offense, the Steeler's O outplayed the AZ defense on the game-winning drive.

Blown calls on both sides of the ball and game-winning drives happen every Sunday to every team, so quit crying about it. You take the good with the bad and you support your team like Men and Women ...

It's funny to still see people that think Holmes didn't get both feet down. It wasn't like anyone said it was inconclusive, so they couldn't overturn the TD call on the field. Replays CLEARLY showed him getting both feet down. Get over it and move on. The better team won the game. Have a nice day.

After Arizona had several play calls overturned in thier favor, I certainly don't think the officiating was biased toward the Steelers. The officials were not very good, but that is par for the course lately, especially with the amount of technology (camera angles) covering the field. If anything, it has made the games more honest... I can remember bad refs ever since I first started watching football on tv in the early seventies...

Are you a complet idiot or just someone that loves to run their mouth and actually knows nothing about the game of football. Arizona was the lessor team, had a weak defense and really only have Fitzgerald as a star. They were wannabe's and couldn't handle the pressure. The NFC is as weak as pond water and the steelers did what they had to in the end. I hope if you are a cardinals fan you don't expect to be back there next season. A blind man has a better chance of seeing the superbowl before those cardinals do. Better luck next year, ops I mean better luck next century.

Holmes didn't have both feet down. His right foot gets caught on the back of his left cleat as he toples over the left foot that IS down, the right foot never touches!

I have never seen a game with more unfair ref calls towards Pitts, more ignored calls, and an apparant backing toward Arizona. Fouls that should never have been called were on PITT, while few were on AZ.

I dislike anything that doesn't involve butter.

Basically, this game was lost by Arizona and given to the better team.

Yeah, Holmes didn't have BOTH feet down.

Watching the side view replay you can see his right foot gets caught on his left cleat and never makes contact with the ground as he topples over his right foot.

You must not have had your eyes open. both feet were down when he caught the ball. It was only has he was falling did the foot come off the ground.

As for the refs, they did not call unsportsmanlike conduct on Warner when he took his helmet off on the field to dispute a call.

You just don't defer in football, especially in the super bowl. That set the tone of the game, AZ did a great job in finally regaining the lead, but much too late, then left Pittsburgh with too much time, then basically quit rushing Ben. They could have had it, but the best team won, overall. And the officiating? Not too bad, a little slanted toward Pittsburgh in the first half, after that it did not matter. It was an interesting game, Arizona's to lose, and they did.

I thought the calls were fair. 92 Harrison probably should have been ejected from the game. It was great for profootball. Commercials pretty good too especially the Clydesdales.

I will root against the Steelers from here on out. They totally missed a block in the back on the interception return. At the 20 yard line heading into the endzone a Steeler player openly blocked a Cardinal square in the back. That play decided the game

They were dismissed early in the season because of their schedule, but they made it to the SB anyway. But then again, I guess someone will say "a lot of paid-off refs along the way" and if that's what you think, then call the NFL and file your complaint. Otherwise, wait until your team gets there or simply shut up. Whining about "bad calls" degrades the Cardinals and their achievements. Yet another team that was dismissed early in the season. And another team that made it to the SB.

They are the first team with 6 SB victories. That's a fact. Will they repeat next year? Probably not, but that won't stop the Steeler fans from filling the stadium(s). If you were such a fan of your team, then how do SO many Steeler fans end up in your stadium? Steeler fans are proud of their team as I'm sure other fans are proud of their team(s), we are just a little more vocal because we don't get the media coverage or the respect you do (Harrison's actions aside).

Small town team (by comparison to a lot of other teams in the NFL), lower salary total than most, the team usually doesn't put up with prima-donnas, it's a team effort to support the city, and a city effort to support the team.

                                                                                        {"commentId":5142251,"threadId":"488191","contentId":"2382525","authorDomain":"paflyer"}

Warner blowing one or two plays that cost them the game, the refs COMPLETELY biased towards Pittsburg (remember the Seahawks v. Steelers where the refs gave the game to the Steelers?). So it's the standard Superbowl. When o when will we get some refs that can judge a game fairly? I'm not saying it would have come out any different, and I had my money on the Steelers, so I'm happy on that front, but it takes a LOT away from the game when the refs are clearly biased. Congrats Steelers!

I agree that the refs in the nfl have a crush on the Steelers. I call for all fans of the game to boycott football until the SB XL and XLIII titles are taken away from the Steelers. The trophies shouldn't go to Seattle or Arizona either though. Who knows how the games would have turned out if the officiating was fair. In my mind those games are null and void. The calls for SB XLIII were a little better than the calls for SB XL, but both were still biased.

All Cowboy and 49ers fans: It should be you two that are tied for the most wins in a SB. Let's start a committee. We have to organize. The "terrible" team should not have 6 wins.

If the refs would have let the players leave it all out on the field instead of trying to insert themselves into the game as much as they did, then it could have had much more potential to be one of the best ever. Cardinals basically lost this one, with the assistance of the guys wearing stripes. I know Big Ben had a game of a lifetime, but let's not overlook Kurt Warner's losing effort. Other than that 1 poor decision before halftime (that will probably define his entire performance unfortunately) Warner had one hell of a performance tonight as well. The Cards D did not when it was crunch time.

This one was not even close. The game was poorly played for a super bowl and way too many penalties. It disrupted the flow of the game....
