It would have been if people cared about the teams that were playing.

Stupid calls. "Tuck Rule" anybody??? If it worked for Brady it should have worked now. Anticlimactic ending.

It was a good game and the media tried to hype it up as much as they could... it wasn't a Joe Montana last min drive or 2002 Patriots win.

A great game? It would have been. But I felt some of the Steeler cheap shots near the end took something away from the victory.

I guess nobody saw last year's game. Come on, folks! This might have been up there if Arizona had pulled it off.

Don't get me wrong, I really didn't have a dog in the hunt - I'm a Cowboys fan. Still, last years "pull off" by NY was just short of incredible. This game was good, but give me a break!

So the Steelers dominate the game until they decide they've won in the 4th quarter, allow Arizona to mount a comeback, then find out they have to play one more drive on offense...and people are saying this is somehow the best SB ever? lol, I would count it more towards the bottom.

The roughing the passer call against the Cardinals was unbelievable. I think Obama told the referees to make sure the "Stealers" won the game.

Lots of sour grapes here.  If anything, the media and everybody else wanted Arizona to win, not Pitt.  The Cards were the Cinderella story with the darling QB.  Suddenly, it became fashionable to be a Cards backer, although 6 months ago 90% of the "fans" I've encountered couldn't name 3 people on the roster.  Refs handed Pittsburgh the game?  Bah...1/2 the people say that after every Super Bowl, the half wanted the loser to win.

I didn't notice any bias. I saw calls being made on both sides, I saw a lot of stupid penalties on both sides, and I did see a few missed calls on both sides. But I try not to lose sleep over missed holding calls... like that old Coors Light commercial with the parody of the refs, "We realize that there is holding on virtually every play of the game, but we waited until this very moment to call it... just to tick you off."

All in all, it was a very exciting game. But certainly not the best ever... waaay too many childish penalties and easy mistakes. And both teams were not at their best, I didn't think. I wasn't rooting for either one in particular... I like the Steelers but I was extremely impressed with Arizona this year. I'm a Colts fan, we got our one Super Bowl victory for this century.

One of the best SuperBowls that I have seen but not THE best. Last years game was the winner of that title in my opinion.

Penalties cost both teams this year-more so the Cards than the Steelers. I felt that at times it was over-officiated but in the end the Steelers did what they had to to win. Very good game and congrats to the Steelers for their 6th ring and the Cardinals for surprising everyone by getting to the big game and giving their all.

Even the announcers did the best not to rip the officials, they just called the officiating a little chippy in the fourth quarter. James Harrison deserves a jail  cell after what he did to the Cardina player #47. It would be assault with intent to do bodily harm in most states. If that's the best officials the NFL has they drop behind David Stern's crooks and felons. A true disgrace on national TV.

Roger Godell thinks it's ok for a team in OT in a Superbowl to win a coinflip, get 2 first downs and kick a 50 yd. field goal and win it without the other team getting the ball. All playoff games and the Super Bowls should play an extra quarter before going to sudden death. No team should win a playoff game or Super bowl with out the other getting the ball. 47 % of regular season games are won with a FG by the team that got the ball first. Can't allow winning a coin flip to be that big a factor of who wins a game. That's the kind of commissioner the league has!

I didn't care who won to be honest, I hate both teams... but I think this a total joke of a game tbh. If Pittsburgh wins because they out played Arizona, then that's great. But man, the refs must have bet on Pittsburgh before the game started because its was very obvious  from an objective view they were working against Arizona.

It wasn't just the three phantom personal fouls that led to Pit's field goal in the 3rd, but more the the lack of blatant holding calls during Pits final drive of the game. You can't make thoes weak ass PF calls against Arizona, and then not call Pit for its holding that allowed them to drive down and score at the end of the game. As I said, I didn't care who won... but I hate to see an underdog team beatup on the "favorite", only to lose in the end because the refs were against them. The refs, Pittsburgh, and the NFL should be ashamed for how this game went.

Best Super Bowl ever? Ummmmm no.

A close score made it dramatic, as did the last minute heroics, but the execution throughout the game was sputtering. I was disappointed.

Every year someone wants to call that year's game the best ever. Typical hype in our ADD culture. The best games are when a team steps up, asserts itself, and leaves no doubt who the top dog is. 80s Redskins, 80s Niners, 85 Bears, 90s Cowboys, 70s Steelers, 60s Packers. That's the way it is. The best teams smash the other teams in the mouth and continue to run all over their pathetic carcasses. Best ever? 1986 - da' Bears make mincemeat of NE. Close in the running ... 1993 - Cowboys whoop up on the Bills.

My favorite Super Bowl was in 1979, when the Steelers beat the Cowboys 35-31 in Miami. I hated both teams, but I thought it was an amazing game with a lot of drama. I'm always disappointed but not surprised that most people have no sense of what happened in previous Super Bowls.

You people need to get a life. All anybody ever wants to talk about is how the refs handed the other team the game. I guess nobody was watching when they called Pittsburgh for holding in the end zone on a play that would have ended the game if the Steelers got that first down. If that wasn't a game changing penalty than I don't know what is.

Any Cardinal fan bemoaning the officiating should realize that denial is the first step of any mental crisis. Sure, you all were seeing the plays as any respectable fan would. With the bias for your team. But now is the time to show some class and sportsmanship. Be proud of your beloved Cards for playing an outstanding game against the mighty, mighty Steelers.

All of the multiple showings of the winning catch will verify the truth. At least one of earlier plays, Big Ben's TD, was, in my eyes, wrongly overturned. So, if you want to be a great fan, you must be pissed at any outcome that you believe affected the game. But, life must go on.

Think about the early Steeler teams that were doormats for more than forty years as one of the original NFL teams. They were bad. But the Steeler fans were always faithful no matter what because every team that they ever played respected their toughness, grit and spirit.

Cards fans would do well to learn more about how the Steeler Nation has appeared to fill the stands of rival stadiums enough to affect the away games. Every major city around the US has at least one Steeler bar to handle the demand. That is due to transient 'burghers that bleed black & gold year after year. The joyous celebration of Pittsburgh spirit and pride has attracted millions of fans that just love their style of football, no nonsense management and probably the best ownership family in professional sports.

Aaaand with this, its time for Steeler fans to take the trophy for "Most Hated Team in the League" away from the Patriots fans. Congratulations, this is the kind of post that will do it. Really, I'm sure Cardinal fans appreciate the lecture in fanhood that you've taken upon yourself to deliver.

And I say this as a proud Pats fan.

It sould be a requirement that people have seen at least 3/4 of the games to vote; way to many votes from people that know nothing of games before 1990; this was a good game but hardly one of the best ever and I have seen all of them.Too many only remember what has happened in the last 10 minutes

Not the best Super Bowl in history. Too many penalties on both sides. When you get to play at that level, you're expected to minimize mistakes. Both teams failed to do that. Towards the end of the game they got a little more serious, but there were really some dumb errors. That Pittsburgh lineman Harrison should have been thrown out of the game for what he did.

The refs robbed the Cardinals of completing a final play. Not that it would have changed the outcome, but hey guys, if a play is reviewable, don't ignore it in the interest of racing to end the game.

Al Michaels and John Madden really should have put Kurt Warner up on the horse trailer. He played a fantastic game. In professional team sports it used to be customary that the MVP could come from either the winning or losing team. Today that practice has for the most part, ended.

What a bunch of WHINERS - all the contributors to this thread must be from AZ.

Maybe the refs were a little off (maybe), BUT why did AZ wait until the 2nd half to get going? They had obvious success with the hurry-up, then completely abandoned it. WHY?? Why did they quit rushing Ben on the last drive. Everyone knows the prevent defense does one thing and one thing only - it prevents you from winning - which it did for the Cardinals.

As for the refs being totally biased towards Pittsburgh, some in the thread say all season, I only ask WHY would they be? They have nothing to gain or lose.

The better team won BUT much credit to the Cardinals, they will be back as they seemed to learn how to win this year. Their coach brought a good lunch pail attitude with him from Pittsburgh and Whiz will do nothing but good in the desert.

anyone that watched this game, and has any sort of football background, knows that this was the ref's game to lose. the only call they got right was the safety in the end zone on the holding call. beyond that, anyone that saw the countless replays, including madden and his straight guy, knows that holmes DID NOT have both feet in bounds or possession of the ball. sure did have it when he was OUT OF BOUNDS, but that doesn't make any difference now. arizona should have showed up in the first quarter and it would have been a different game.

give big ben and hines ward the proper props. but when it comes to game management, warner kicked -ss. that pass to fitz over the middle should have happened in the first half. after that, the steelers would have been done. and as far as sportsmanlike conduct? pitt may have the defensive player of the year, but his THUG LIFE actions on that punt? he should have been tossed. then he would have been the "playa" with the longest touchdown in super bowl history to have been properly tossed from the game ....

typical super bowl .... nobody's happy .... and the commercials sucked ....

It has been shown over and over again from every possible angle and there is not one sportscaster that I have heard say that he didn't get his feet down. Wake up and give credit for a great throw and catch. I hate whiners.
