OMG!! Can't blame the officiating. If your team doesn't put itself in a position to win don't whine about the officiating. It was bad all the way around.

                                        But to answer the question:

Pittsburgh or Tennesee vs. NY Giants

stop crying about the refs. it was the refs who gave the cards a chance with that retarted holding call that went for a safety. remember that a completed pass for a first down with under 3 min left and only one time out. the game pretty much would of been over had not been for that call. that was not a hold the defender bull rushed over the steelers center he fell back and didnt have a grip on the card player jersey.steelers would of ran the clock out with one more first down. even if they held and steelers were to punt they would of gotting the ball back with the same amount of time as they had after the steelers scored 35 seconds.... cry baby.....

It's very hard to repeat. But the Steelers are the best team in the NFL at this point, and I am not referring only to their SB victory. The 2008 season was not one in which there was any team that we'd call great. The Steelers were very good, no more. But very good was good enough. As for next year, the Cardinals will be better, especially if they can shore up their defense and keep Warner on the team. And keep Boldin. But I am not predicting that they will make it to the SB again next year; there are just too many unresolved issues for the Cardinals at this point. If I were the Cardinals, I'd sign Warner, deal Leinart, and get an extra second-round draft pick.

As someone who was born in Pittsburgh, I have a very special connection with the team. Sure, they don't win pretty and they seem to pull together as a team and gut it out. I have no doubt they'll be in the hunt next year and if they learn from the obvious deficiencies they had this year, look out. While the time to celebrate and enjoy this success has been earned, I wouldn't be surprised if Tomlin and his coaches meet tomorrow and get moving toward meeting the goals of next season. From the owners down to the players, this is a class act. They don't have a T.O. causing problems. They don't have an owner sticking his nose into things. They don't have players missing meetings. They play as a team with one goal in mind...winning. What a great example to send to the youth of America. This is an American team, supported by American fans. Yes, I look for them to repeat. There is a reason everybody wanted them to win...it's a victory for the American way.

Barry...let me guess, you are a Seahags fan. You jerkoffs, including that clown on MSN who said the refs gave the game to the Steelers (Whitlock) are miserable losers. There should have been twice as many calls against the Cards than there were. Gandy held Harrison on EVERY play...not just the three he was flagged for. Harrison should have received a bigger penalty for his stupid move, but the refs called it the same both ways.

Please don't whine about the officiating, the crew upstairs looked at that and it was ruled a fumble.

There are two types of teams, teams who play smash mouth football to make the plays and teams who rely on the instant replay camera to make their plays.

Any team who wishes to rise to the next level needs to rely less on the electronics and more on their skills.

Life long steeler fan that has the misfortune of living in texas around “obnoxious” cowboy fans. Great game yesterday. Pittsburgh was not given the victory they earned it. The officiating had nothing to do with the outcome. inconsistent calls all game both ways. Back judge gave Arizona every break on offense but it did not cause them to win or lose. It will be tough to repeat but they will be in the hunt.

Anybody out there remember New England, or the Chargers who have to live up to their potential one of these years. the Jags, oh, and then there is Indy. Pitt is a good team, but they will not repeat.

Personally, I hate the steelers and their obnoxious fans, but, the Steelers are a good Team, but like many of you have said, there are way too many things that have to happen in a team's favor to win a championship. Good to be good, be healthy, and have little bit of luck. They are in a tough conf., with 3-4 teams capable of winning it all. Cardinals had the game won and their defense really choked, letting the steeler go on that long drive and score to win. Hats off to them, they did what was needed to win. 47 on the Cardinals had a really, really, bad game.........................

I also think Pittsburg had luck on their side with the play ending the first half. The ref's favored Pitt, I saw holding on plays against Pitt that they never called. That said, it was nothing like what happened a couple years ago against Seattle when the ref's litterally gave the game away to Pittsburg.

Same with roughing the kicker. Eliminate the dresses and let's all be men again. You attempt a field goal, your butts on the line. On any given play, they can call holding. Sure, we won't have 100 points on the board anymore but the game has changed alot since I played. Regarding the Seattle game...PittsburgHHHHH was the better team!

(b) Holmes will only get better (c) Sweed will be MUCH improved and he's TALL (Holmes sucked his first year too - dropped almost everything) and most important (everyone forgets this but it's HUGE and a reason the Steelers had to fight so tough all year) Daniel Sepulveda will return.   The punting sucked this year - PERIOD. That constantly put the Steelers at a disadvantage with the other teams getting good field position.  Sepulveda will bury the opposition and give the Steelers good field position all year in '09. AND, let's not forget that the defense is only getting stronger and Lebeau will be back for his 51st year.  Yeah... I like their chances.  They did it twice in the 70's; I think they will do it again.

But the Steelers will lose virtually no one in free angency, some starters on the line should return, and the return of Mendenhall should definately boost the run game. On the other hand, there is great competition in the AFC. I hope the Steelers do repeat, but even if they don't, they will be in the hunt for years.

The Steelers are one of the powerhouses in the AFC, they will be in the hunt for another Superbowl. The Cardinals ...??? First, Kurt Warner is old (and the second string QB), can Leinart do the job? Next, the Redbirds need a running game (James is old, Hightower?) The best part of the Cards is the defense, but they need more consistency. All in all the Cardinals MIGHT be back, or they might not even make the playoffs.
