      He's a top-3 player

Despite having a poor line up surrounding him, Wade has shown an ability to lead, and teach the youngsters on his squad how to win.

Wade is an exceptional talent with a ring to prove it. He is definitely in the room with Kobe and Lebron.

Definitely a great player stuck with so-so teams where he can showcase his talent. Still, put his abilities somewhere around "middlin"....

Wade is a great player, but Kobe has THREE rings, Wade has only one (Nico King), and all four titles had Shaq at Center. Let's see who get's their first ring without Shaq, and we'll talk again.

I don't know why he has so many detractors, he "brings it" every game without fail. He's carrying a young team with no "big man" to help him, but they still have a winning record. When this team starts to mature, maybe as early as next season, they will be championship calibre. Best player out there, bar none.

I never understood why Wade was not in the conversation with Lebron and Kobe. He became a great player before Lebron did. I'm not just talking about the ring but he was clutch much sooner than Lebron was. I think the injuries are clouding people's memory. I'll never forget the clutch shot over Baron Davis in the playoffs as a rookie and the jump shot he seemingly developed right before our eyes in the championship series against Dallas. The great one's have a reserve they can go to in the big spots and Dwayne always seemed to have it. In my opinion Lebron is just now getting to that place. Wade is just a good, if not better than Lebron and Kobe. They all have a great skill set but Wade and Kobe have the killer instinct that Lebron is just now begining to develop.

Wade should be in the conversation before Lebron, because if Lebron is not driving to the basket regularly he doesn't hit the outside shot. That's the difference with Kobe and Dwayne, if they don't drive because the lane is clogged thay can still kill you and play defense. Just ask Boston about Kobe.

Wade is the best bar none! Kobe won championships WITH Shaq, while LeBron has yet to win anything. Wade carried his team, with a 370lb Shaq on his back. Injuries shouldn't cloud everyones judgement, but it seemingly has. Unlike Kobe (who has several veterans with him), and LeBron (who has had essentially the same team for the past three years) Wade is teaching the youth around him how to win. Wade brings it night after night, and as long as he's on the floor, the Heat have a serious chance to win. Come playoff time, the Heat, and Wade will be the team to watch.

If you ask me..Wades been a top 3 since his 2nd year..The man won a championship for crying out loud..And he did it with an injured Shaq. The jury is out on Lebron as far as greatness..He's great to watch, but he's not always great in situation. He dribbles too much at times, and he's reluctant to rebound consistently..his shot selection is questionable at times which is OK..he's still young. But I dont see how people overlook Wade as a top 3 player, and ascribe Lebron the title as The Best, or The Greatest..I love Lebrons game, but there's too much politicing going on with his name..He's definitely a hard worker, and respectful young man, but the jury is always out until you win a championship...

Let's be honest. When talking about a top three player you are talking about a player you build a team around. So all you Wade lovers, if you had the top pick of players to build a team around it would be DWade? Come on he is a VERY good player but top three; NO WAY!

Gotta like your answer, here. Gimme a Dirk or Duncan for consistency, and maybe a Tony Parker or Billups for their scoring. Nobody is going to outdo Kobe. LeBron shows alot of potential at this point, but lacks that killer outside shot like a Manu delivers.

Rings are won by teams. Talented individuals populate these winning teams like the Celtics or Lakers. Pistons were good in their day as NY Knicks. Let's see what LeBron's Cavs do. That should be his marker of success - or failure.

Skillwise,up there with Kobe and more skilled than Lebron. Best shotblocking guard(at 6'4), good rebounder, always a lock for 7 assists, a high shooting percentage, and 28 points a game. The heat, when you look at their roster, have a much better record than they have any right to, and that's all because of Wade. MVP will be Lebron or Kobe due to team records, but no player has meant more to his team's success THIS year than D-Wade. That to me exemplifies an MVP. And I don't know why people are on Wade's jock all of a sudden this year, he was balling like this 4 years ago, the last 2 years have been injury-riddled, but this guy has been a great player since 2005.

Just look at the 2008 summer olympics. Without Wade maybe the USA does not win the gold. Even among ALL of those stars INCLUDING Lebron, Kobe, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Bosh, Deron Williams and so on - D. Wade was the LEADING scorer, in spite of coming off the bench. And his defense is solid. Nobody had more steals on that Redeem Team.

The guy is simply the best player on the planet.

why is Lebron a defacto top three again? oh, thats right...thanks Nike/ESPN. Lebron is good for a nasty dunk or play each night (usually on a fast break thanks to all the defense he plays) but in the clutch he just does not show up ( I believe Gibson averaged more points in the eastern conference finals they won). See his finals performance, see the olympic gold medal game.

LeBron is #1, no doubt.  Put him on the Lakers and they'd never lose. Put Kobe or Dwayne on the Cavs and they wouldn't win the championship.

And neither Kobe nor Dwayne has ever won a riing without Shaq in the house.
