Of course, Manu is the man.
Pau no doubt. The reason why the Lakers will be in the hunt for a CHAMPIONSHIP for the next 5 years.
Olympic gold and 3 NBA championships, 6th man of the year. Manu is the hear and now, Pau can't begin to compare. Show me some hardware!!
Manu has three rings, a 6th man of the year award, an Olympic Gold Medal, and was the Player of the Year in Europe before coming to the USA... he's the most complete foreign player, and one of the best players, period, on this planet.
Because of his unselfish manner, he comes off the bench for San Antonio but, like my high school coach used to tell me, the starters are the ones who END THE GAME, not START THE GAME... and Manu finishes and he is the closest in the league to Kobe in that "KILL OR BE KILLED ATTITUDE!" Pau Gasoft is too soft, Dirk is too, Nash is getting old, Yang Ming is injury-prone and Tony Parker is nice but only on offense... Manu is the best all-around foreign player in the NBA and one of the best in the world, bar none!
Gasol by far brings many options to the laker team. He rebounds scores and passes well.
Come on people. Tony Parker is the new Iverson. Almost no one in the NBA can even pretend to guard him. If you put him on a mediocre team without a Duncan or a Manu, he could average 30 a game.

if you will look at the achievements to date, it should be manu no doubt. his impact is felt in the game and individually, he is also a complete player.
The question is the best player and does not specify acomlishments which depends on your supporting cast and individualy Tony Parker today is the most dominate at his single postion than any of these players.
Best International player ever by far is Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon. Clearly 7-footer with the moves of a small forward. Who also had his way with conference rival David Robinson who is perhaps one the best all-around players ever at the center position.
I just had to put that out there as a tribute to the not so old school.
Now that I think about it would Tim Duncan qualify since he is from the Virgin Islands (I think) which is only a territory and sort of it's own country? This is guy who gave up being a World class swimmer and if I remember played basketball for the first time his Senior year in highschoool. Chew on that one.
Manu, Manu, Manu (when healthy)!
