I’m not sure. It would depend on where the internship was and what doors it might open.

Internships are an excellent way to pick up new skills and hone old ones, especially in a quickly updating modern society. I would take one

I can't afford to be unpaid. Rich people with big savings accounts and assets can do that, but not the rest of us poor folk.

Absolutely! The work ethic and determination of a 40-something can put to shame a 20-something.

I'm in my sixties and would love the opportunity to 'intern' and pick up new skills. I have no intention of fading away into obscurity.

Absolutely. This IS NOT the time to be "too proud". If you and the company are a fit, it could be a permanent jo.

Actually I am sure; if it would open the right doors I'd do it in a minute.

With the rising cost of daycare, a parent can't afford to work for FREE...I need to pay the babysitter and transportation!

Spin! VOLUNTEER, if employer doesn't realize the need to hire you, yet, or offer internning. Make sure your offer to volunteer is genuine!

I need to pay the bills! But if my future with the company would be brighter because of this...well, maybe!

If I felt that the new skills would lead me to a better life and new opportunities, then yes I would.

How can you pay bills, if you don't get paid? I guess an unpaid internship would be okay if I had other income to offset expenses!
