Changed plans Sunday. Monday US Air announced they were waiving transfer fees. Called to ask for refund of $300 & they refused! Shocked.

We are going to Playa Del Carmen Monday. There is flu allover the US, but no cases as of yet in the Yucatan. As usual, media overhype.

I think Baxter Labs made sure this flu gets you anywhere. They got away sending live H5N1 in vaccine so this is try number 2.

Totally exxagerated, it's negligible compared to the regular flu. My only concern is that it will be empty in Cabo when I travel in 2 weeks

If people take the proper sanitary precautions, it won't spread nearly as fast. I flew with my two month old twins last week.

Very disappointed with US Airways. We changed our plans to go to Cancun on May 1st to go to a different destination and we were charged $150 per ticket for transfer fees. On monday, US Air announced that they were waiving transfer fees for people travelling to Mexico. I called to see if they would refund the $300 we paid in transfer fees since I had made the change within the last 24 hours and they refused. Elevated to a supervisor who was pretty much beligerent when I was trying to kill them with kindness. Very disapponted that they wouldn't help. I couldn't afford the $300 fees but I did it to spare having to go to Mexico. Will never fly US Air again if I can help it. Very disappointed.

I feel that if I have or could be exposed to the swine flu it would be better if I delayed rather than expose him and those who are also recovering there. They have been thru enough defending our country we don't need to indanger them further.

Just think about what you're saying. The same precautions you take in Mexico you should take in the US. There are NO cases of Influenza A H1N1 in Los Cabos. If you didn't go to Los Cabos you lost your money foolishly.

But there are no reported cases down by Cabo, in fact, we are closer to confirmed cases if we stay here in the USA. So part of me thinks go, but part of me is worried that they may be trying to hide diagnoses of Swine Flu in Cabo so as to not scare off any more tourists. The good news is there will probably be fewer people down there which automatically means lower risk of spreading! We will wait a few more days and see what happens, but so far it looks like the outbreaks are worse in the US then in around Cabo.

We decided to change our vacation to the Dominican Republic. After hearing about the violence in Mexico, the swine flu outbreak was the last straw. Worrying about masks, keeping antibacterial handy, and worrying about the resort running full strength was not our idea of a vacation.

We are still going and are still excited. I've been reading everything about the swine flu and I'm not as scared as I was first. We decided that if we have any signs of not feeling well we will go to the doctor right away. Most of these people that are sick are living in a poor neighborhood in Mexico. The likeness of catching the flu in Mexico is just as likely if you were in the same neighborhood in Queens. The bird flu is still killing millions of people around the and yet, we aren't freaking about it anymore. Swine flu has symptoms similar to pneumonia so some people could have pneumonia and died from that. Also people have allergies this time of year and instead of seeing a doctor they put up with it when they could be sick with the flu. People just need to be proactive and go in when they don't feel well. Resorts are stepping up their hygeine practices and the travel agencies haven't put up an alert for traveling yet. So I'm going to Mexico and going to be cautious. My chances of getting the flu is just the same there as here. I'm also going to bring my own cup to the restraunts and never drink a drink after I've set it down. So if you are in Peutro Vallarta right now please let me know how it is there.

We've never been to MX so were really looking forward to the adults only resort we booked. We've seen that there are no reported cases in PV. Has anyone out there been to PV in the past couple weeks? Is it a ghost town? We called company we booked from and can get a 100% refund. Only trouble is we can't go on vacation again until Dec and repriced with same resort and they are charging double that time of year. Any feedback is welcome.

I was in Mexico City April 17th-19th then flew to Oaxaca where I was in language school for 1 week. After the story broke I changed my return tickets to the US for 2 weeks early.

Before boarding the flight from Oaxaca, April 30 we were given a form to fill out asking about symptoms and then they took my temperature (normal). I wore facemask and sanitized hands frequently. Layover in Mexico City where again filled out a form but no temperature taken. We stopped in San Jose Los Cabos where we had to deboard the plane and go through Mexican Immigration, reboarded no test or forms. Arrived in Seattle and was expecting some kind of medical info or screening. There was absolutely nothing there. Actually went through US customs and immigration faster than usual.

I was very surprised to find there was no screening or information at the US border for the flu. Mexico was more on top of it than the U.S...................

Travel agent very helpful but US Air stinks...cost us an extra $300 bucks to make changes in addition to extra cost of Jamaica. Oh well...we are very excited to go to Jamica

We did now hear about what was going on until we got home. Nothing was said to us on the ship and I did notice when we stopped at Cabo on the 23rd, it was not crowded like you would think. Now I know why. But…… coming in to the Country in Loa Angeles, Customs NEVER asked any questions about us being sick or anything!! If I knew about it ahead of time, I would have cancelled the trip.

We've never been so we were sooo looking forward to going. If anyone has been to cancun since this started can you let me know if the motels are taking precautions, such as sanitizing everything or not. Is everyone there wearing masks or something. I want the best experience, and to see everyone in masks doesn't seem too appealing. Please advise.

There are no cases of Influenza A H1N1 and you we'll enjoy extraordinary places overthere. The worst scenario was here but just in the beginning. Right now everyone takes care by washing hands frecquently. etc, and goes to the doctor if you develope any symptoms. The government has taken extreme measures to control this outbreak. Maybe more extreme than the USA I think.

The flu has been killing tens of thousands for centuries around the world. There is an agenda here, could be universal healthcare. Or big pharma, or the lack of the media to find the next story, so lets make this flu a pandemic and scare the crap out of the population.

The best way to avoid this is take care of yourself (health). Go on with your life the world is not going to end in a global pandemic from the FLU!
