Found an old, refinished oak dining room table with 6" column legs in pieces. Only $75. Put it together at home, looks like I purchased it at an antique store. This piece could easily have been sold for more than $800 from a reputable antique dealer, had they it been put together to sell, but they didn't and it was my gain. I am so thankful.

I collect chickens, the best one I ever found was marked $10.00, but I got it for $.50 at the tail end of a yard sale. It is over 3 feet tall and is a weathervane. Cheap and very unique. I'm glad I didn't start at this house, as I would have happily paid full price for it.

I found so many wonderful things at yard sales, garage sales, estate sales etc. all at drastically reduced prices! One piece that comes to mind is a coffee table by David Marsh, an artist out of Texas. He has very unique pieces and ones that you can immediately recognize as his work. You typically find his work in art galleries across the country. He has been selling for at least 20 years that I know about. I found this coffee table at an estate sale and knew it was worth alot more than they asked. They wanted $125 and I offered $75 if they didn't sell it at the end of their sale a couple of days later. They said go ahead and take it now for $75. I happily did, I called the studio in Texas and found out it was worth $550. Needless to say it made my day!

I found an Ethan Allen oversized country dining room set, ca 1960's complete with the table, 10 chairs, breakfront and china cabinet that sits on top, all for $550.00. I brought it home and spent two weeks going over it with Howard's and it was perfect for a lake house that we owned. This set would have easily sold in an antique shop for five to six times what I paid.

I found an old tin full of men's watches that didn't work. I took them to be cleaned..and fixed up...I paid about $200.00 or so, but wound up with a good Swiss Army watch, 4 beautiful GF vintage Hamiltons, a Pulsar ..but the best was a 14 kg Movado that's worth about $1500.00. A total value of over $2500.00. I wear them and love them !

A few years ago I bought a carnival glass bowl and a plate at a yard sale for a total of $1

Three days later I sold both to a local antique dealer friend of mine. He gave me $80 for the small bowl and $65 for the plate. Of course he resold them and made money, but in the end we were both happy with my find.
