This was popular when I was in high school so I couldn't escape it. Very few of these bands lasted to today for good reason!

Lyrically, musically, and socially, grunge destroyed hair metal because it was far superior. Cobain and Vedder made music, Warrant did not.

Not all horrible, but most of the band members were poseurs, not musicians. Grunge had/has much more style, emotion, substance and creativ

You know it! Rock on! Yeah, grunge was cool too, but we know where it all came from--80's FOREVER!!!

What's lost, in music and in the article, was the musicianship. The /songs/ today are OK, but where are the CHOPS? Hair bands could PLAY.

These bands were pop, period. Male Britney Spears. The bands and their "music" need to stay buried.

If these represent your glory days, how pathetic. The 80's had more to offer, but you were transfixed by spandexed bulges and missed it!

I can only find 1 or 2 songs from some of the artists that have managed to stand the test of time, most of it's terrible

The crap that passes as "music" these days can't even compare to the '80s. Grunge was the beginning of the end, and rap killed it for good

Absolutely not. The white kids always blasted that stuff when I was in school. Grunge was foreveryone. Not this stuff.

Musics is meant to make you feel good. The 80s were all about having fun. Grunge fans wouldn't know fun if it bit 'em on the butt.
