He could have accepted the guitar and had the boys at the shop cut it up in private and achieved the same thing.

No one should smash a trophy. Even though he can drive, he is an immature punk.

I agree with Dave-1145123, but I think NASCAR needs to take it a little bit further. Kyle needs to be suspended for at least a dozen races (that includes all three series) and that should give him the time to let him think about what he did. There were 42 other drivers, teams, who would have loved to accept the guitar (trophy) and do something for their crew if they wanted to. Kyle could have purchased a guitar for each of the crew with all the money he is making this season. I think his brother Kurt needs to sit him down and have a long, long, talk with him.

NASCAR needs to stop allowing these immature drivers in. There was a time when drivers acted like adults. The majority of the drivers I see out there today are nothing but little boys. It was just plain disrepectful what he did. NASCAR should make him pay for the trophy and sit out a few and think about it. I've seen kindergartners show mor respect than he did. Little baby needs a time out.

Kyle is showing his true kolor , the kid has no respect for the nationwide series driver's and doing this show's that he has no respect for his car owner or sponsor's either from what I see in the kid. I'm sure JGM would had loved to kept the trophy in a case. Makes you wonder if NOS thinks this is the proper way for the kid to act, I mean NOS is an energy drink, but I'm not sure if this is the kind of energy they should be sponsoring.

Grow up Kyle, Other kids are watching you do these desrespectful things and kid's might be wondering if thats how they should act.
I'd hate to think my son would do anything this stupid to any kind of guitar, much less one that so many other people involved had worked so hard to get.

I beg to differ, I am not a Jr fan. But what Kyle did was very disrespectful to all! Please stop thinking that just because someone does not agree with you , that they are automaticly Jr fans! Kyle is one of the best wheel men out there, but not showing respect to others is his biggest downfall.

I think he owes his young fans a better example than being destructive and disrespectful toward people that worked hard to make a nice trophy such as the guitar. It was one of a kind and years down the road may be very valuable. He could of donated or auctioned it and gave the money to a charity. If i was the artist I would not make him any more at any cost.

It showed disrespect for the raceway, the city, fellow racers who raced for that trophy, NASCAR, Gibson Guitars and Sam Bass.

He just a all round jerk. Lets set the record straight too;  He was a jerk when he raced legend and modifieds at the Las Vegas Bull-ring.

He's still the same, except now he's a rich jerk!

Kyle needs to be fired he shows disrespect for others and needs to set a better example for the young fans who watch NASCAR. The guitarwas one of a kind and you cant buy your way out by offering to by more at any price. I hope Gibsonand the one who painted it refuses to do any more for Kyle. He is not the role model we need for the drivers of NASCAR. I am proud of Hendrex Motor Sports for dropping him as a team member.

Hey - I am NOT a JR fan either (JG RULES!) but I will be the first to admit that KB is by far the best driver on 4 wheels. HOWEVER it takes more than driving to be one of the greats - and KB does not have what it takes to be one-he has shown over and over that he is immature, has no respect for the tracks, the equipment, his team, his fellow drivers and most importantly the sport. I am very disappointed in JGR and specificaly coach Gibbs for letting this little punk do whatever he feels like doing without consequences. NASCAR needs to step up to the plate, shows some balls and SUSPEND KB from all series for at least 1 month!

I am not a huge NASCAR fan, but I do find myself watching some races. I do not think anyone has to be a fan of any particular sport in order to know that a driver's behavior is out of line and harmful to the family-value image that NASCAR tries to portray. This sort of action by any athlete, driver, coach, whatever, is disrespectful at the very least. Anyone who even remotely defends Kyle Bush's action has no grasp of common decency.

He should have accepted it and like someone else said take it to their shop and let everyone have a piece of it. Apparently the youngster has no idea what it means to own a "Les Paul Gibson" and probably does not care. I played the guitar until an accident a few years ago now prevents me from playing. I still own 3 guitars and would be more than proud to have a Les Paul. To me it was an insult to Les Paul as well as the other gentlemen mentioned in the story. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, Kyle will start to grow up. Wonder what Joe Gibbs thinks?
