This one pizzaria Boston Style Pizza near where I live makes the best pizza for a mom and pop shop. Great toppings, never real greasey.

        Me

I want my pizza the way the Italians intended it. That means making it myself or going to Italy, it's birthplace. Ours doesn't resemble it.

At one time it was Ledo's near MD. Univ., but they went 'chain' and downhill.

Roma Pizza is a new place near my home...but it is a national chain I think. Anyway it has my business. They make the best pizza I have ever tasted.

Donato's (based in Ohio) is my favorite pizza chain. But, out of the big 3 (Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Papa John's), I have to say that Papa John's is the best. Not only do I have experience as a customer, but also as an employee. I worked at franchises for all 3 of those chains, here and there, delivering pizzas while in college. Papa John's has best (and most expensive) ingredients, while Pizza Hut has the worst (more frozen and pre-made crap). Why is Pizza Hut so popular? It must be their advertising campaign and frequent, tempory specials which involve products that are just odd mutations of pizza (double-decker pizza, dippin' strips, twisty crust). C'mon... they can put all the bells and whistles they want on their pizzas, but it's still just not as good as PJ's.

              Papa John's > Domino's > Pizza Hut

If anyone reading this is ever traveling through Northern Illinois, Chicago in particular, enjoy some pizza from Gino's East or Lou Malnati's. Local pizza places can be good, home made can be great, but for delicious consistency it's hard to imagine why the three chains mentioned are even on the list.

In New York City, Stromboli's on University in the Village is excellent, Sgarlatos in Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ is a close second, and here in Las Vegas, the pizza, other foods and atmosphere at NY Pizza and Pasta on S. Jones brings one back to the East Coast.

Homemade is the best since I'm making what I happen to want at that time. And no one has whole wheat crust. White flour pizza to me is likely eating a twinky. It's kind of good but no one should confuse it with real food
