I think steroids has caught up to tiger as evident by his repeated knee surgeries. His best days are behind him, now he is breaking down

When you're used to being top dog, real competition can cause you to struggle. This loss will affect Woods for awhile.

With so many American players automatically mailing it in when Tiger shows up to play it's nice to see a few overseas players remind the world that Tiger is still human. Perhaps if a few American players "grew a pair" they might challenge him as well.

My guess is that more European and Asian players will see the cracks in Tiger's playing armor far sooner than most of the American players will, as that's too bad, since many of them have the physical talent to beat him but they continue to leave their mental talent back in the hotel room.

Tiger finally had to admit someone else played a good game. Now maybe we won't have to mute the commentators who constantly talk about Tiger and how great he is. He's still arrogant and obnoxious and thinks the other golfers are just there for show.

Barb, I can see you were never an athlete. You apparently don't understand the psychological aspects of competition. You also don't watch golf much. Tiger often talks about how great other players are. Tiger is a great competitor, a great family man, and a great humanitarian. Not good enough for you? Tiger is an amazing golfer -- which is why the announcers keep talking about him. The fact that he's won 70 (and 14 majors) by age 33 goes completely over your head, doesn't it? I wonder what you are like with your kids... Pretty mean and unforgiving I expect.

I find it interesting that "barakobama" above thinks Tiger won't win another major. It must kill you to watch "other than whites" succeed in life.

When a corner man in boxing sees that his fighter is doing everything right but is to stiff(uptight) he tells him to continue doing what your doing but let you hands go, let em go. For Tiger it is the same thing, he needs to continue doing what he is doing, but just let the creativity flow as opposed to much control. Tiger, let your hands go, let em go......

Tiger made a mistake switching to Hank Haney as his swing coach. Tiger says he did it so he can be more consistent in the majors like Nicklaus was. Tiger mentioned that Jack had 19 second place finishes in majors. I thought the objective was to win, not to place second. Maybe the end result of Haney's swing change will be that Tiger will be in the hunt more frequently and figures that will lead to more major wins. I preferred it when Tiger was dominant and blowing out the other players by 15 strokes like he did at Pebble Beach. Bring that Tiger back.

Tiger is truly a gifted golfer, no question. But to say any one is the greatest at their sport is a disservice to those that played their sport with the equipment of their day. Give Tiger a hickory shaft and a driver that has a wood head and see if he can play as well as Bobby Jones.

Give that same equipment to the other players on tour, shorten the courses by 1000 yards, remove the added trees and other hazards put in place to tame Tiger and he will still win his share of tourneys.

At the same time, give Bobby Jones a conditioning coach and a new set of clubs and he would do just fine today. Well except for the whole dead thing, but I bet he would lead the zombie league.

It's funny to read all the post, "steroids, arragont, washed up, Yang stood up to him, saw the cracks in his game, ect..." Tiger had a bad putting day. PERIOD. Yang played solidly, give him credit, but don't get it confused and make more out of it than it is. Yang will never win again, and will become a one hit wonder.

Tiger was 36-1. Look at that again, 36-1 when leading in the final round. The laws of average would tell you that had to end sooner or later, and whoever it was would bring joy to all you people that wish they had, or someone that LOOKS like them (and you know what I mean) had that kind of talent and carisma.

Is he perfect, NO. Are there things I dislike about him, YES.

I would like to see the tv cameras in all the golfers face throughout the whole round, and I'm sure you will catch some things from everyone that are not flattering. Don't single Tiger out.

And for you people that have no sports knowledge whether on or off the feild, being a top athlete in your sport (Jordan, Farve, Crosby, A-rod, ect..) you have to play with a chip on your shoulder, have in your mind that you can't be stopped, but take defeat in stride, and work harder to not let it happen again. Tell the rest of your "Angels" to work a little harder, go to the practice range after shooting a great round, to fix a flaw that we didnt see, to perfect his or her game. This is the differance from being great, and being good.

I cant believe the things some of these writers write. All their words cant erase his 70 wins and his 14 majors. If Nicklaus and Singh can win majors in their forties dont count Tiger out in his thirties. No one can feel worse about one really, really bad Sunday than Tiger Woods must feel about last Sunday. One bad Sunday and 84 good Sundays are now the history of his excellent record as a pro golfer. Wouldn't you like to be 84-1 on Sundays? Or 36-2 when leading at the end of round three? Tiger you still are the best.

Losing a match only makes Tiger more determined to win the next one. He will continue to win many more majors simply by talent and his drive to win. He's an inspiration.

No one can win all the time when they are ahead, 14 W1L is not too bad. If fact, no one in the history of golf has done better. Tiger will own all the records when he is finally done (he's only played 9 years). Yang will not win another major, just like McKeel and others.

Let me see, major knee surgery 5 wins and several top ten finishes. You're right he's over the hill.

And as for the steroid comment Tiger was the leading proponent for thr testing of PGA players.

                                Get your facts straight!

When it comes to the Majors Tiger is just holding on too tight. He is not playing with the same boot on your throat mentality that he attacked them with prior to his injury. Tiger is smart enough to realize that he has to get back to that. When he played the first three majors of the year, he played the first two days as he always had - just trying not to lose the event. In all three cases the rest of the players hit the course hard early and got out to leads that put to much pressure on Tiger. In the PGA he learned from that and played to go really low early. But when he go that 4 stroke lead he started trying to play it safe and got caught. These days he's got to play all 4 rounds hard. He will realize that. As for all those who say he's over the hill, players who are over the hill don't win 5 tourneys in a year.

In a year or two at best. The rest of the PGA is rapidly catching up with him. I think that he is wearing out a bit as well.

How many times have we traveled this road in the past thirteen years! Tiger Woods will be 34 years old when the major season begins at Augusta next year. At around the same age, Jack went two or three years without winning a major. Although Tiger's competition is considerably deeper than any in Jack's era, I like Tiger's chances of winning at Augusta, Pebble Beach and Saint Andrews next year. Should he prevail in any major next year, however, it would silence the critics and skeptics who suggest Tiger is on the down side of his career, or even finished when it comes to major championships.

I've followed the likes of Tiger for many years, I think he's a heck of a player. His dad was his inspiration. Having all the knee problems and still going forward. I hope that all is mended and he's on his way to winning many games next year. I will always watch him, win or lose......Its a game and you have your good and bad days, and with weather changes and course changes, it'll always be a challenge. May the BEST player THAT day win.

Tiger is a Great golf player that is self evident. The mediocre of the world who's transparent attacks reek of envy for reasons known only to themselves seek to denigrate a great player. Watch the man play, he will make your day. If you can't, join one of the many hate groups out there. You will make new friends who will make you feel special and forget about golf.

Who cares, other then the announcers on TV? It seems that whenever Tiger Woods is in a tournament, we see EVERY shot he makes, even if he is not on the "Leader Board". Is he one of, if not the best player of professional golf? Probably. However, there are usually in excess of 30 other players in the tournament onSaturday and Sunday. I believe the should get some air time also.

As physically talented as he is---he is not as good overall as Jack Nicklaus. He got tested at the PGA and folded like a cheap suit.  How would he hold up if truly tested?  Don't forget, Nicklaus finished second 19 times in majors.  Given less challenging competion (like Woods), he could have easily won 30 majors.  Woods tempermant will prevent him from surpassing the Golden Bear.

Even Jack says that Tiger plays a game that he hasn't seen before. Barring injury, sickness or death, Tiger woods will without a doubt win more Majors, have more victories than Jack Nicklaus. Really, the honest conversation is over about who is the greatest golfer of all times and the answer is clearly...Tiger!
