I thought Kellen Clemens did a better job against the Ravens. Pretty boy just doesn't have it.

Sanchez looked frightened and uncomfortable during his debut against the Ravens. He's your typical coddled USC quarterback; used to having an overwhelming team in a weak conference coupled with all the pass protection a quarterback could ever need.
He'll probably have a successful career as a GQ model.

Every major rating service- Sagarin, Sports Illustrated, AP, USAToday- rank the Pac-10 as the second strongest conference over the last decade.
Explain to us how that makes it a "weak conference." Ah, that's right. You can't.
Uhm. Dude. There are 4 or 5 USC quarterbacks in the pros at this time. Yeah, easy conference the Pac 10 is.
Of course you start him. As an ardent Jets fan I can speak for most who uare under no delusions that the Jets have a chance to go to the dance. That being the case do you start the franchise QB that you paid dearly for or do you start the career backup that is in the last year of his contract? It's a silly question.
Okay, I guess I see your point. As a Pats fan, I'm glad the Jets decided to write off this year :P

Being that Ryan has already announced that this will be mainly a running offense, at least this year, I have no problem with Sanchez as QB. He will have chances to pass ,but this year will be for him to develop in game instead of watching on the sidelines.

I think Kellen did a better job against the Ravens also, but I guess there are things that we don't see in practice. However, that is a lot of pressure for a rookie quarterback especially in that media market. He did not look good at all in that game, so we will see how he performs.
I truly believe Sanchez will be a great quarterback. That being said, he should not be the starter on opening day. Rex has Flacco on the brain but Flacco was the exception and not the norm. I think starting Sanchez could really hurt his development by throwing him in the deep end too quickly. Let Clemens start a couple of games (and get mugged up) and then put Sanchez in after a few games. Putting Sanchez in too soon can cause irreparable damage to his confidence let alone get him physically hurt. Let me get hungry watching a few games and then put him in when he has experienced regular season gametime and is pumped up to win.
I believe that Mark Sanchez will develop as a fine quarterback over the years. Personally I think it will be a great oppurtunity for him to handle the pressure from top defenses and learn to show poise in the pocket. It seems he can read the defense and make sound decisions. It will be an interesting year. Guaranteed.

He's not ready for the big-time yet. He's going to have a rough year. Talk about trial by fire.
