tough d's and a great goalie, if they don't overwork him. Iginla is still a top offensive threat and will lead this team to the top.

I don't mind the Pens, they seem like a good team that plays hockey the right way. But no one in their right mind wants to see the goon squad - Sorry! I meant BULLIES - to win. Philly thrives - and has for the last (almost) 40 years by challenging the rules and trying to get away with their DIRTY PLAY. The thought of them winning anything makes real hockey fans physically ill!!!

Its ironic that this comment was made before last nights game between the Flyers and the Penguins - the game where it ended with Mike Richards doing nothing to avoid running into Fleury, Scotty Hartnall biting LeTang's finger, and the new goon on the block Pronger can be seen holding Kunitz off the ice by holding his collar from behind, effectively choking him. Classy play, but justice is served by the final score.

Normally I would say Washington is the hungriest team with the ability to win a Stanley cup which makes their lack of off season moves curious.. I know they signed Mike Knuble, a steady player but he's not going to be the one player that puts them over the hump...

I don't think Washington wins it this year.. Still should be Pittsburgh or Detroit barring injuries but watch Boston... They're going to have a great team shortly...

The Capitals picked up some defense and have arguably the best minor leaguers in Hockey. Expect a strong season with possibly a Stanley Cup finals for them. But even as a die hard Caps fan, i think we lose to Detroit, 4-2 in the finals. Maybe we will rebound like Pittsburgh and win next year...

Go with Vegas's pick, Detroit truly is way to deep.

Detroit or Chicago are my fist picks. Detroit's defense and goal are weak, so I'm concerned.

I hope not Pittsburg and snot nosed Sid. Love the Steelers, hate the Pens with Crosby.

I'd love to see the young Avs grab some attention and build momentum, but they're short on experience and maturity now.

The wings have many of the types of players that make even the average players seem better than they might be and there ability to build each year they lose key players is amazing with good netminding and decent defense they have the ability to reach the finals any given year and this year is no different if i,m not mistaken the wings are at minimum one of the top 2 teams in any sport with a winning average over the past 20 years

Until the win against St. Louis, the Pens weren't even playing their best hockey, and they were still winning. That can't be said of the other teams so far; and it the mark of a good team that it can win even when not playing at its best. I don't think the loss of Gonchar will hurt as much this year as it did last year - there is more depth and some pretty good options on the defense this year to help the power play.

That certainly explains the hardware they won last season, the 7 game winning streak, the 9-1-0 record & the league leading 18 points so far this season. The Pens just can't compare to the fascinating Crapitals that have only 2 players that are actually good, while the rest of the team stands by and waits for Ovetchkin to cripple the other teams players with a slew-foot, an intentional knee on knee hit or some other dirty play so the rest of the other Crapitals can try to stay on their skates and play the game.

The only thing that sucks Stu, is to be jealous of such a great team like the Penguins. Maybe some day you'll understand hockey, then maybe (and I emphasis maybe) you will have something intelligent to add to the conversation.

I say Pens again this year, but downing Colorado... No offense Wings, they just seem to be struggling a bit trying to get their lines clicking.
