"Britain and the US have condemned Russia and China for vetoing a draft UN Security Council resolution to impose sanctions on Zimbabwe's leaders. The measures had included an arms embargo and a travel ban for Robert Mugabe and 13 of his key allies.

The Human Rights group Amnesty International accused China and Russia of breaching the embargo which has been imposed to halt sales of weapons to Sudan, where janjaweed militants are engaged in a campaign of brutality against innocent people.
