So November is well and truly here. Late fall in southern Ohio sees the trees go bare pretty quickly, but this year conditions were nearly perfect for some stunning fall color. It seemed like it came and went so fast that if you blinked, you missed it.

I thought I had captured all of the autumn beauty that was left around our property (See 2009-Part 1) but Sunday was such a lovely day here in Nebraska that I spent a bit of time outside with my furry kids and captured more. So, I thought I'd share these images with you too.

Whether you're running a marathon or a mile, you need the right food to stay energized. Joe Bastianich, a chef, restaurateur, winemaker and marathoner, has the perfect dish: White bean stew with Swiss chard and tomatoes.

Do you like the colors of autumn?

And day by day the dead leaves fall and melt." — William Allingham (Autumnal Sonnet)

There may be a chill in the air, and the sun may sit lower on the horizon, but let's not say good-bye to summer just yet.

This is not even a stretch for me, Scotty.

After posting an article expressing my love of Autumn, I began to wonder just what it was that drew me to that particular season and if you stop to think about it, you may find that you are drawn to one in particular over the others.

We are at the beginning of September, 2009. The summer and holiday season are almost over and a new busy period is on the horizon. But how do you really FEEL about it?

For instance...

I love the fall. It's my favorite season and I think it's because of all the beautiful colors. And what better way to share the colors than with pictures. Enjoy!

My folks have a place in the Adirondack Mountains (Southern portion). I have been going to Green Lake since I was a very young man-I think I was around 5 when my folks started renting a camp on the lake. We started out for a week at a time, then 2 weeks.

On Saturday, my family and I went to an Autumn Harvest Festival at Meadow Farm Park. Meadow Farm is a historical park centered around an 1860 living historical farm and museum in Richmond, Virginia.

Today the colours are still at an early to mid-stage, with more brilliance to be anticipated later on in the season. The woods are full of birds of many species, some on their way through to their southern destinations, some fattening up in readiness for the cold to come.

The leaves are turning, the homecoming queens are taking their thrones (why am I hearing Julie Brown right now???) and the Westside Nuts are throwing the annual Fall Festival.

It seems like just yesterday we were playing around in the pool in the hot sun. But alas, the dog days of summer are behind us, school has started and fall is here.
