I spend a lot of time thinking about the things I do wrong as a parent. When I'm not patient enough, or when I don't pay attention to my son's endless stories ("Kids live to tell stories," he tells me. "You need to listen.")

I am having a bad day today. I have a 12-hour work day ahead of me. I had to do laundry, but the dryers were not hot enough and I had to reload half my laundry into another dryer and spend more money to get the clothes dry enough to head upstairs.

There are days here it seems nothing goes right. Days that seem to last forever. Days where all I want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep away the time. Days when I miss having the option of a sick day.

Passengers aboard a cruise ship to the Antarctic were roused from their beds and hustled into lifeboats early today, when an iceberg punched a small hole in the ship's side.

It isn't her fault that my office is understaffed and I've been forced to pick up the slack. The fact that my lease is a quarter of the way up also has nothing to do with her although it was her job to let me know.
