The FBI is investigating an alleged human smuggling operation based in Chaparral, N.M., that agents say is bringing "Iraqis and other Middle Eastern" individuals across the Rio Grande from Mexico.

The RNC is firing their phone solicitors and blaming them for a downturn in fundraising. That is so bogus, and it angers me greatly. Having been solicited by these phone workers, I can tell you that they are professional and courteous, as far as telemarketers go.

Obviously, this is just my opinion, but I believe this has been a very bad two weeks for John Edwards and John McCain. So bad, in fact, that I believe their respective candidacies are essentially over, finished, kaput, toast. Stick a fork in 'em, they're done.
