A Canadian observer views the Obama triumph, and aside from a few eyebrow-raising comments (calling Obama a "mixed-race" candidate and insisting that Hispanics have been reliable republican voters "for decades") pretty much hits the mark.

As most here on the Vine know, I am quite to the left and support Obama fully. McCain and Palin don't represent my worldviews, my thoughts on any issue. But even if I agreed with McCain/Palin across the board, I would not reward them with a vote.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new era in American politics, though I imagine no matter who wins it will not be the era predicted by either side. For instance, if Obama wins I don't see him fulfilling either the hopes of the Left or the fears of the Right.
