Although doctors (and viewers) have faded in and out throughout the years, the finale is still a moment worth marking. George Clooney has already made his return as Dr. Doug Ross, but the finale still has plenty to look forward to. Rachel Greene, the daughter of late County legend Dr. Mark Greene, is now a med student, and will be making an appearance along with her stepmom, Elizabeth Corday. And so we come full circle. After hearing the first two songs, the New York Times declared Springsteen “more hopeful” than in the past. Perhaps that’s because Springsteen, who performed at last week's concert honoring the inauguration, first played the title song during one of President Barack Obama’s campaign stops. New this year: Fourth judge Kara DioGuardi, 36 instead of 24 semifinalists, the return of the wild-card round, and no Thursday episodes. It's a new year, and with it, a slew of new reality shows. First, is back, and with a twist — this year's single guy looking for love is a Seattle single dad. Jason Mesnick was rejected by "Bachelorette" DeAnna Pappas in July, but he won the hearts of many viewers, so now he'll be the one handing out the roses. Some viewers are uncomfortable with Mesnick in this role since he has a three-year-old son, Ty, from his first marriage. But Mesnick claims he found the woman of his dreams on the show, so now you can watch it all unfold. (Premieres Jan. 5, ABC, 8 p.m.)
